Sorry. We must have had a disconnect there. I was under the assumption you were talking real life and not sim.
-
I’m not a flyer, so I don’t wanna cause confusion there. I was speaking on real life though and not sim, so 100% correct there.
-
If by that you mean tron carrying electrical components that fit in airplanes...yes...for the last 20 years.
-
Having worked with said components for more than half my time on this earth, that is nothing more than a play on words to drive up costs. Same thing as “military grade”. There really is no such thing and anyone that works with the stuff in real life will tell you that.
-
That is a highly inaccurate statement.
-
The E/B is a EGBU and has INS/GPS guidance also. I’m not discussing the B/B so not sure where you are trying to gowith that.
-
That doesn’t necessarily mean the E varient is coming. Yes, it is a III varient, but is also has Internal guidance and not just laser. There are different versions of the III, and not all have the capability
-
Not trying to be difficult here, so hopefully it doesn't come off that way...but that doesn't make any sense. If you identify a PP to a station, it should retain that target information...
-
Correct, selecting a station will not select a designated profile, which it should.
-
Again, it’s the other way around. The station, or bomb, get’s it’s selected coordinates from the PP. the PP is basically a profile that is loaded to the bomb. Thats how JDAMS work, regardless of the airframe. You select where you want the bomb to go and how to get there. Right now, the jet has no ability to remember what profile is loaded to what bomb, it just defaults to whatever program you used to drop the previous bomb when it steps to the next station.
-
You don’t change PP to change stations, it’s the other way around. You select the stations to select the desired PP, which it should retain the selelected PP that you previosly selected for it, but it currently doesn’t. 1 + 1 doesn’t equal 2 the way things are currently modeled in the sim.
-
Yeah...what you said.
-
If they were loaded into memory, you would be able to drop a ripple sequence and have each bomb independently target it’s own assigned DMPI, which is the way it should function. The bombs do not remember what profile was loaded to them in the sim. Haven’t flown in a while, but from the sounds of it, sounds like it works as it previously did. There is some functionality missing, either by intent, or not fully developed.

reported earlier [REPORTED]Master Arm On to Dispense Expendables?
Rainmaker replied to Nealius's topic in Bugs and Problems
It’s referenced in the checklists, so MA being required on to dispense was at some point an actual requirement. At some point, it changed from those that are in the know. They hve already stated that there would be work to allow program management on the ground. -
[FREEZE FIXED INTERNALLY] JDAM Feedback thread
Rainmaker replied to NineLine's topic in Bugs and Problems
Correct, they have to be changed manually currently...the programs will not individually identify to the stations. I.E. you have to manually reselect the program you want at the time of release. If you have more than one quatity boxed, they will drop simultaneously and only for one program instead of the independent programs you identify when you are setting them up. As it sits, there really isn’t a quantity release unless you want them to all drop on the same DMPI. @Nineline. I haven’t forgot about the track request, I just haven’t flown since that was posted. -
[FREEZE FIXED INTERNALLY] JDAM Feedback thread
Rainmaker replied to NineLine's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'll see what I can do. Looking at Wag's multi-target video from a few weeks ago, I see the same operation as what's in his video. As he releases each weapon, he has to manually select profiles 2, 3, 4...as they are not automatically set for each station. When he initially sets up the profiles, he steps to each station and selects a profile (sta 8, pp1, station 2, pp2, etc) but this information isn't retained when he goes to drop, he has to select 2, 3, 4 before he drops each weapon, otherwise they would all drop using pp1. It works like what's in Wags video, yet, I'm not certain that it's necessarily supposed to operate that way. -
[FREEZE FIXED INTERNALLY] JDAM Feedback thread
Rainmaker replied to NineLine's topic in Bugs and Problems
Something seems like it might be a bug, or perhaps just needs further development? You can’t identify a specific program independently for each weapon. I.E., if I start with station 8 and select PP1, then step to station 2 and select PP2...if I step back to station 8, PP1 is no longer loaded to it and it is now also PP2. Based on the documention that is out there, some posted in another thread already before, I don’t think it is supposed to work that way. The software should remember independent profiles for each weapon without having to be manually selected at time of release. -
Worked this morning for me...thanks for the fix!

Just to add additional info to this, my dcs update folder goes to 98.1MBs in size every time when it freezes. Plenty of drive space, have deleted the folder a few times...no luck. Mayne the needed server files are missing? Seems to be a failure to download, not a fail to install.

Some one help me out here with what I need to do because I'm lost. Haven't updated the beta install in a while so I'm a few patches behind. The updater(2.9.9.2) gets to the "downloading deltas" portion and freezes every time somewhere between 75-85 megs and won't go any further. I've ran the "cleanup" and tried to "repair" and the repair tool says .28461 is no longer available, also manually downloaded the updater utility and tried that...no help. No mods that I can remember, etc...just a normal beta install. Anyone got a solution?

Can’t attest to the accuracy, but this is normal for fighter engines to maintain higher thrust setting at high airspeeds. I’m not really smart on the subject, but from what I understand, it has to do with preventing compressor stalls/stags.
-
Speculating, but possibly a “slow burn” round where the powder doesn’t ignite fast enough and the round comes out the barrel after it’s rotated behind the fairing. Seen it happen a few times on -15s.
-
Pretty sure this is already reported in the bug forum as being an issue...track hostile with no print ID on SA page.
-
That’s not how that works, as stated in the other posts above.
