  1. April is THE worse time to release any game for us University / Highschool students because this is exactly when our exams prep begins (SATs etc). What are you trying to do to us ED? ;)
  2. Yeah, I agree. I sometime find that Lomac's graphics engine is a backwards step at code optimization. I mean, it feels like it's doing 1+2+3+4-8 = 2 when it could just be doing 1+1 = 2. (Okay, maybe that analogy isn't too good.)
  3. I don't understand. Is the cockpit real? If so, why did they waste their time making such a nice cockpit?
  4. Yes, but that only gives me mediocre reflections. Medium water does the effect nicely already.

  7. Your movies are brilliant. The only nit pick I have is the title shots and text. It looks like they were bashed together in photoshop really quickly. Maybe make them look a little more modern? Also, the transition effects are a little 70's style (they work really really well but make it look like a hand held camera job). Anyways, with those aside, I really love your movies.
  8. I sometimes feel the game is a little slow, like it's like at 1x, when real life is 1.5x. I tried playing the game at 2x speed, it was cool, but the controls were too sensitive and unplayable. I think you guys should tweak the game to something like 1.25x the current speed. Also, tweak the afterburner effect to atleast 2x because it seems to go a little too artificially sometimes. Missiles, wing trails, and colored smoke also look much better at 2x speed. (Or maybe just make it that the missile trails and wing tip smoke don't spread so fast.) Another point I'd like to point out is that the IL2: Sturmovik series seem to have the game at 1.5 times Lomac's speed. If you compare a P51 going at 700mph, and a Su 27 going at 700mph, the P51 seems to be going much much faster in Il2 than the Su27 in Lomac. However, I have concluded that their effect animations are the same speed.

  10. Yes, 1.03 will be released with AFM for all existing aircraft, 2 new aircraft, and a dynamic campaign.
  11. I'm not simply criticizing, I'm offering to help. If people are against me helping for free then I'll stop trying. If people think the Lockon.ru site is perfect, then I beg them to look at other game websites. And what's this about the top half of the letters are not very visible? Could you be more specific?   12. I think it'll be a good idea if we work on remodelling any left over Flanker 2.5 models like fuel tanks, missiles, cars etc.
  13. Do you guys need a designer for your website or something? Because the Lockon.ru website just looks really dull. The colors are very singular, and there doesn't seem to be any life or modernization to the site. Sure, it's simple, but this isn't a simple game. So, if you guys need a web designer, please don't hesitate to gimme a ring. EDIT: I also work for free, so I think that's a big plus.

  17. I'm not saying ED's not doing a good job, I'm saying that ED should stop posting false release dates on their websites so easily dis-loyal people wouldn't be annoyed. Promise meaning "Game will be released in March" only to be changed to April near the end of March. This has happened many time since the original release date of November last year. ED isn't like Valve or Microsoft where people either depend on their software or has enough hype for their software to be delayed. Lomac is for the niche market, and for any new comers, delays mean dis-interest, not increased hype over the game. As for me, and probably most of the community, I'm fine with the delay since we all know it means is a better end product. I think the best way to help ED is just to remove the release date for future products since we all know flight sims are usually delayed because of the complexity of them. They should just set a vague date like first half of 2005 so they have a 6 month lee-way to release the game. If they release it early, it looks good on the company. If they release in at the end of the six months, it'll seem like it was on time. IMO, they should implement the "Gone Gold" term too like most other game developers do. Just some of my ideas for ED's marketing strategy because I don't see their marketing strategy to be one of their strengths.
  18. I don't mind that you're taking more time to fix the game, but stop making promises you can't keep. Please, just say the game is due somewhere in first half of 2005 and be very vague because every time you say it's due out next month, it gets pushed back. You build up hype only to say it's delayed for another month. It makes for a very bad marketing strategy, as people will start to think this company isn't very reliable. So to help yourselves, and me (and us), please just post on your website "Due First Half of 2005". I think that gives you lots of lee-way to fix the game and what not and still retain a sensible deadline atmosphere. Thanks
  19. The model's I've seen coming out of the community are awesome and I would like to learn how you make them. What software do you use? I'm relatively new in the 3d rendering business but I have made several objects including guns (M4's, Sniper rifles for Counter strike) and what nots. But the problem with me is that guns are very square based and cylindrical. I'm wondering how you make those smooth objects like the frame of a Su27 or a F16, etc. Anyone have any hints or could point me in the right direction? Thanks
