Universal UFC| Works with all modules | Simple Install
ggerman2862 replied to prestonflying's topic in Winwing
Would it be possible to do a profile for the CJS Super Hornet? Hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult, since it's exactly the same as the stock F/A-18C! Thanks in advance!! Greg -
For weeks, I've been trying to figure out why my brand new UFC data displays haven't been functioning in in the F/A-18C cockpit... but working in other cockpits (i.e. Harrier)... so today, I went back to the legacy F/A-18C Hornet... and all of a sudden they are working again... but I then started a new mission with the CJS Super Hornet mod and, sure enough, they stopped working again. So basically, for some reason, the UFC data displays are not compatible with the CJS Super Hornet mod. Has anyone else had the same experience? Does anyone know if there is a way to get them working when using the Super Hornet? My guess is that it probably has something to do with the "faux LCD" display screen that CJS created specifically for their mod... but I don't know enough about what scripts control the what the data displays in the Winwing UFC show. I do know that someone has gotten them to show the data that the Harrier displays and with other mods, like the A-10, JF-17 and so forth that don't really have the same type of UFC as the Hornet. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm certainly open to them! Thanks! Greg

Nope... just an exterior model swap... but a beautiful one, at that! You can use the outboard pylons, but at the cost of the right cheek station... or you can just use the Charlie pylons only.

SU-57 Felon EFM Build
ggerman2862 replied to cubanace's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hi Cubanace, I was interested in downloading this aircraft but the links in your signature and in the DCS library don't seem to work. Where can I download this? Thanks in advance! Greg -
Tried connecting with WW support on this but haven't heard anything back from them. After the last software update, Sim App Pro only recognizes two of the three MFD displays. All three of the displays work and will show the content of the panels, however it is impossible to arrange them to fit the layout of the cockpit anymore. Prior to the software update, my MFD displays were numbered 007, 008, and 009. After the update, only two numbers will be shown on the MFD screens. Sometimes it is 007 and 009, other times it is 008 and 009 or 007 and 008. It varies as to which screens the numbers wil show on - but it will never show all three screens numbered at the same time. In the Windows Display settings, if I drag the screens to rearrange them, the arrangement matches what is shown in Sim App Pro, but what is actually showing in DCS doesn't match what is shown in Sim App Pro. If I go to the cockpit layout page and set each display as it should be, when I get into DCS, they are arranged differently - like the AMPCD appears on the left display, the Left MFD appears on the right display and the Left MFD displays where the AMPCD should be. If I try to re-assign them to where they should be in Sim App Pro, then when I re-launch DCS, they are still arranged improperly, but in a different configuration. It's like a card shuffle - they never appear in the same place twice and it changes every time I start DCS. Becuase you can't rearrange the screens in Sim App Pro while DCS is running, I've tried re-arranging them in the Windows Display settings... and I can get them to show on the proper MFD.. but when I go back to Sim App Pro, I can't apply that arrangement until I quit DCS, But if I quit DCS and then go to Sim App Pro and click Apply, then what switches up the arrangement from what I just set in Windows. It's nuts! For instance, If I have the left MFD (which Sim App Pro designates as 007) set to display the left MFD content of the F-16, it will show the content of one of the other screens (either 008 or 009). If I then try to change it to the number of the display where it is actually showing, then as soon as I click "Apply" and restart DCS, it changes to another screen - but not the screen number assigned in Sim App Pro - because the software keeps shuffling the screen numbers every time I click "Apply". If I don't click "Apply" in Sim App Pro, then I get a warning from Sim App Pro to reset the displays! Prior to the last Sim App Pro update, everything worked fine and all displays were assigned to the proper MFD in the cockpit layout page... I had all of my aircraft set up according to the layouts in the cockpit layouts page of the software - but now, no matter what I do, I cannot get them to stay on the proper screens. I've unplugged all of them, restarted, re-arranged them in Windows, re-installed Sim App Pro, but still get them arranged out of the proper order. I even tried deleteing their Windows registry entries in RegEdit and letting Windows re-discover them, but that didn't work. I've tried deleting and re-installing the winwing display LUA file and that didn't work either. It is definitely a problem with Sim App Pro... it's not a hardware issue. No matter what I do, the arrangement of the screens never matches the arrangement in DCS. Anyone else had a similar problem? Is there a way to download or revert a previous version of Sim App Pro? I updated it the other day from within the software so I don't have an older installer that I can revert to. Like I said, things were fine in the previous versions of the software. I've tried connecting with their tech support but that hasn't worked so I'm kinda stumped as to how to proceed now.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the "double-displayed" MFDs when exporting them to external devices (in my case, the Winwing MFDs). I've seen where a couple of people have also noticed this issue but I haven't seen any comments offering a solution. My guess is that it probably has something to do with the rear cockpit being useable and, thus, the displays from the rear cockpit are being exported as well - the result being each MFD is displayed twice. Any suggestions of how to fix this would be warmly welcomed! Many thanks!

I have two Orion throttles - one for the F-16 and one for the F/A-18 - and an Obutto cockpit frame. I use 3M Dual Lock fasteners to hold them on to the mounting plate and it works great! It's easy as pie to switch between the two throttle bases - it takes less than 90 seconds. 3M Dual Lock Strips I guarantee that your base WILL NOT move once you set it in position with this! Just press down on the base until you feel the strips lock together and that's it! Just place a 1" x 1" square on each corner of the base. It will stay firmly in place.

It will sync with every aircraft you set it up for... A-10C II included. The sync is based on the binding, not the aircraft type.
-
Nevermind my comment... I just saw that you were talking about the rotary knobs on the Orion, as opposed to the spring-loaded momentary switches on the Combat panel.
-
I had the same problem at first... Because they are momentary switches, when setting them up, you have to hold it in place, click to accept the assignment, then release - otherwise it will just briefly activate and return to center.

Their re-stocking times prior to March were about every two weeks... I bought almost $2k of Winwing hardware and it shipped the same day. Took less than a week to arrive in the US. With their pre-order, the good part is that (unlike most preorders) you aren't charged until it ships!

F-35 A/B/C Community Mod
ggerman2862 replied to Tangent's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I'm afraid this one is going to end up being vaporware.... -
The mod is only a "model replacement" and uses the Charlie as its base... so therefore there are only four underwing stations available - even though IRL the E/F has six stations. The only way to use the outboard stations is to configure it as a Growler... but even then, the outboard stations are non-functional... so even if you hang something on them, you can't use them.

I've got a couple extra Warthog plates if you want one... brand new and never used. PM me if you're interested!

Been seeing a LOT of the 77th at Shaw in HG5 lately... same for the 79th. Haven't seen very many 55th aircraft, except for 93-550. Hard keeping track of them everyday. Not sure why, but some Shaw HG5 aircraft have gray tail codes, some have black - no consistency in the painting from squadron to squadron... or even from plane to plane within the same squadron... they're all mixed. Haven't figured that one out yet. As far as I know, they're all being painted at Shaw by the same team. Just kinda odd seeing them with different tail code colors. Gotta say the HG5 paint makes them look really badass, though! Really looking forward to these livery packs! Thanks for all of your hard work!!
