4. The current manual is in your DCS installation, under mods/aircraft/M-2000C/doc Same principle for all DCS modules, by the way.
  5. Hi, You're confused and this is normal: there has been 2 variants of the throttle. The old one was modelized in the module early versions, and was described in the first version of the flight manual. This old throttle was a reality on old 2000C variant, such as the RDM-equipped aircraft. The new throttle is the current one IRL, for RDI-equipped aircraft. It's now (and for a long time in DCS) modelized in the module and in the current version of the flight manual (see page 30). The new throttle is recognizable by a base with more width, and more buttons on its aft-facing face. When switching from old to new throttle, several other changes (buttons related features) were modified too. About your question regarding paddles: Only the fire button (1) on your image has a paddle that you have to flip. It's not meant to give 2 different functions, it's meant as a supplementary security mechanism = you have to flip the paddle before being able to use the "fire" trigger. This is automated in DCS (you see the flipping paddle move but there is no specific command for it). Note that this command was modified: previously it was only for guns (cannons); now it's for all weapons. About other questions marks on the same image: (2) on your image is not yet fully implemented in DCS. It works for the vertical nav update, but we don't have yet the ability to change the Magic scan pattern (only the axial pattern is available at this time). (3) on your image is the trim hat; it works as such when the AP is off or in standby. It works as an order for the AP when it's on (green). Described in more details in the current manual. No paddles here, the 2 functions depends on the AP status. (4) on your image BRM is an old feature. It's short for Bombes-Roquettes-Missiles as originally those weapons had a different trigger than the guns. Now the trigger is unique and called MICROB for MIssiles-Canons-ROquettes-Bombes. This button is now used for the programmed chaff and/or flares launch. (5) on your image This "hat" is the special modes command (by the way: no, "SNA" doesn't mean "PCA"; it's short for Système de Navigation et d'Armement). The commands are the "Weapons System CMD" ones in DCS. (6) on your image = same as (1) (7) on your image no questions (8 ) on your image was a radio button at the time of the old throttle, but is now a button allowing to switch between PID and PIC locks. (9) and (10) on your image no questions ++ Az'
  6. Then the mission itself needs redesign. I rarely used the feature when it was available, but then for an example such as the one above I was adamant with missions makers that they should place a valley entrance waypoint, a valley exit waypoint, and a briefing instruction like "follow the valley between points X and Y". ++ Az'
  7. Indeed, and that in essence is kinda an issue, isn't it?
  8. Nope. The old box was indeed linked to the Eclair pod (IRL) and was part of the Standard 4 (for example: ex FAF Mirage sold to Brazil as F2000 were S4s) The new cockpit is more representative of the (current) Standard 5 in the FAF.
  9. Gave it a try yesterday and am now in a position to confirm that shutting down the radar (to PCH or Off, SIL is not enough) also allowed two mates and me to get our FPS back while still enjoying the radioaltimeter to land back at Khasab.
  10. Interesting. This suggests an interaction between radio altimeter and radar (code-wise) that could help understand hence solve the bug. Will certainly try to shut off the radar next time it happens to me, so far I've only tried to shut off the radio altimeter.
  11. Also... pardon my French :D Close formation (Patrouille Serrée / PS) 1/ Vertical spacing (étagement): The #2 must see both the extrados (upper surface) and the intrados (under surface) of the leader's wing 2/ Fore and aft spacing (retrait): The #2 sees the leader's engine nozzle as an elongated oval 3/ Lateral spacing (écartement): The #2 aligns the leader's wingtip (nav light/EW antenna) with the scoop just above the root of the wing. ++ Az'
  12. I'll guess that, as always, a DCS version containing a fix will eventually become available on the stable/release branch :)

    BIP ?

BIP (French) = BEEP (English) :)
++ Az'
  15. I'm sorry but no. Alignment requires the platform (i.e. the aircraft) to be stationnary. Alignment is a process where, knowing that the aircraft is stationnary, the various gyroscopes of the INU will align themselves with the (true) north, by sensing the acceleration due to Earth rotation on itself. During alignment (IRL): no aircraft "shaking" = no weapons mounting, if possible (GPU available) no engine running... and so on. In the air, you may correct the position by doing a position update. This process only introduces an offset term (on all 3 axis) to the position "sensed" by the INU. This process does not make the various gyroscopes align with the north. Hence it's called a position update, not an alignment. Regards, Az'
  16. K1/K2 is a conception bug. Don't think about it, to be corrected. CAS button should display S/P like others. The word displayed is TIR (no "e"). Also, not at Max range but at "best chance of kill" range (btw no, it's not a real no escape range, but you may think of it as such).
  17. See bug thread about radioaltimeter.
  18. Yeah +1 A C2 asset should indeed relay data between incompatible networks.
  19. Alignment is not correct (term). Position update is what you're talking about. Yes, it serves the purpose of being accurate too, but the process involved (technically) is very distinct. ;)
  20. In fact all external headlights lack "power" now: Landing/taxi lights Refuel light Probe light Police light (+ is broken now)
  22. Clearly. Just like IRL. Why ignoring a failure/abnormal situation indication? Want to die/respawn young?
