Yeah :)

I'll check later. From memory, I would say up to 100% "dry" (mil), the wheel brakes have a specific mode that give them more power (more pressure) when engine is running high.

Addition: AdA 2000N (Antilope V) : no MICA IR AdA 2000D (Antilope V) : no MICA IR - may be integrated later during a MLU; this shows it's not done now. 2000D derivates from the 2000N, which is the second variant after the 2000C/B.

That's though... :cry_2: Kidding aside, sounds reasonnable (and "fair"). :) Just add big balls (nickname of the 541/542 FTs).:D

That settles it, then, for the couple F-15C + AIM-7M. I wonder it the same could be said about RDI + 530D. I mean, it's PD too, shot in HPRF STT, but don't know if its signal changes detectably upon launch. Wouldn't mind having a "sneaky" feature when flying the Mirage  Unique, beautiful, lethal. What else? :D Indeed, for Rafale it's the RBE-2 that provides the LAM. So lame! (pun? what pun?)

OK. Examples of FC3 being too efficient: - Radar immediately works; no warm-up. - RWR is always able to distinguish Fox 1 launches. - IFF is never wrong (granted, this is DCS in a whole, not just FC3). Why? Because underlying code is simple. Nothing more. :)
-
Well, I guess DCS F-15s are older than that? ;) Not always. Mirage 2000-5 is a (rare?) counter-example. It has a dedicated antenna (on the leading edge of the fin) for the "LAM" (Liaison Avion-Missile / missile uplink). And this was marketed specifically as "discrete". Yeah, sure :)

Again, why "most likely"? A RWR will issue a launch warning if it detects (and classify) what is unambiguously a missile guidance signal (waveform): --- teleguidance for old SAMs --- continuous wave illumination --- specific radars known to be on ARH missiles It may or may not issue a launch warning if it "only" detects & classify a lock (STT) signal, depending on its settings (i.e. it can "assume" that a strong enough lock (STT) signal = launch warning, even if it's not sure that a missile has been launched. A safe gamble, if you like. Now, early Fox 1 needed a CWI (continuous wave illumination) to work. A RWR can pick-up that. But more modern Fox 1 (such as the AIM-7M or the 530D) can be guided on a HPRF signal from a pulse doppler radar. Some radars have CWI (e.g. the F-15's one, that's what flood mode is => and guess what, flood mode makes opponent RWR issue a launch warning, even with no missile shot). Some radars have not; apparently, the RDI has not, because it doesn't need it to guide the 530D. So we can guess that depending on their settings, opponent RWRs won't or will issue a launch warning when locked/shot at by a M-2000C+RDI+530D. Regarding missile uplink, perhaps basic ones are detectable & classifiable, but modern systems are more likely to be low power, intermittent, varying in frequency, unclassified by your ennemy... all reasons for them not to be picked up by opponent RWRs.

Uh?? I really don't see how your answer and my quote go together...

Hi, Classic DCS aircraft use dynamic aircraft registration. This simple system, already implemented, allows to have different-looking aircraft without having to multiply skins to a (too large) number. I suggest this is doable too for standard liveries (*) for the M-2000, even if french military registrations are not simple numbers (like Russia or US's ones). (*) obviously no need for special/demo liveries that were painted to one aircraft only. The old timer may remember the AdA Mod v2? That's what the developpers of the mod did, back then. :) As I said, french military registrations are not 001 - 002 - 003 and so on (like Russia or US's ones), so the team had to be (more) clever. So we made a kind of dedicated database thanks to Barbsman, Cpt Stark, Oxitom and a few others's work. The principle is easy: this database linked some of the "side #" available in DCS editor (e.g. 11 to 49 (except round tens) for the 2000C) each to a specific triplet of information: - what registration (french format) => displayed on the fuselage sides - what aircraft serial number => displayed on the fin and the front gear fairing - what squadron/flight badge => displayed on the fin (not always the same left/right sides) Each information is a TGA texture that is added to the base-skin, using side# arguments. Cherry on the cake, Barbsman even hacked part of the editor, in order to show which registration, serial and unit badge were to be displayed. A big part of the work was to inventory correct (real life) triplets. Cpt Stark made a document listing them, this document is available in this topic (yeah, it's in french). Images: (sorry about the aliasing, long time not running FC2, settings are broken) Base skin: With dynamic registration: A light patrol, same skin on both aircraft but they look different: If Razbam would consider doing something like this, I feel it would be a nice addition. ++ Az'

Yeah, well we don't need specific power, range, frequencies data to know how the system works. Principles & logic should be enough: Does anything changes regarding what radars emmit when they're in STT, between "just" a STT lock and a STT lock + missile in the air? I'm not sure. Perhaps it depends on the precise radar type, on technology... but I would like to know. Once this is known, in principle the RWR can pick-up the change if it exists (of course, assuming you know what change to look for). [edit] looking around a bit, it seems differenciating STT and CWI could be the solution... On what do you base your "most likely"? The DDM (D2M / MLWS) is not specific to IR missiles. It detects any type of missile, because it looks for the missile engine plume.
-
The "all-at-center" is not the topic at hand here. Obviously work has to be done about that. Does the RWR work exactly like the FC3 RWRs (and should it do so) is another matter, and the question of this thread.
-
Well... why? Because of previous DCS (LO/FC) implementation? The question is this: I'm afraid the answer is no. And if it's no, then there is no launch warning since the ennemy radar sends the same waves to be picked by your RWR with ou without missile on the way. Why would SAMs be different? Because often they use a specific radar mode to guide their missiles, your RWR (if set correctly) is capable of detecting the specific waves associated with this mode. Same for the radar of an ARH missile: if its onboard radar has specific emissions characterics and that your RWR is able to detect & recognize thoses specificities, then you can have a specific answer (launch threat) on your RWR. But as we know, chances are it will be too late.

Oh, OK then :) Thx.
-
Oh, perhaps you're right, didn't remember that. I will cross-check and report back, sorry in advance if it was a false alarm.
-
spiddx is right :) BTW unless I'm mistaken, you're talking about the orange light labelled "RVT VOL", right? If yes, it's not about hydraulic system or crossfeed (AFAIK there is no hydraulic crossfeed, as it would defeat the very purpose of having 2 hydraulic systems). RVT VOL is short for Ravitaillement en Vol = Inflight Refueling.

Guts feeling (with the hope I have educated guts :D): It's both. I.e. FC3 pilots are probably used to "too efficient" systems (because of lack of limitations modelization, aka simplifications). AND the M-2000 still has a bit of way to go before being fully usable. If you have (serious) knowledge about "how it should be" and you see something amiss, do say so, I'm sure it will help developpers. If you don't, then you may try to build you knowledge (if you enjoy this) by reading stuff. And/or wait a bit more to let Razbam guys complete their job: don't forget that what we got now is "only" the first public beta, still with unfinished/missing features. Regards, Az'

Then you should read jojo's answer on previous page :)

If it says "son corps en acier inoxydable et plus long" (grammar error included) then it should be corrected. The article, that is. ;)

Nice job Toertchen :) Proposition of corrections (based on your REV 4) : Preflight / MAIN INSTRUMENTS PANEL MAIN ADI ……………………………………UNCAGED => there is no caging on the "boule" (main ADI) of the M-2000. Please remove this line. HSI ……………………………………NAV (CM OR CV) => shouldn't be in green. It works. ENGINE START CIRCUIT BREAKERS …………………………………… CK => you should write CHECK in all letters (several occurrences). WHEN THE RPM REACH 10% MOVE THE THROTTLE TOWARDS THE GROUND IDLE POSITION => there is no "ground idle" position. There is an idle position. The ground/flight idle setting depends on WoW, not throttle position. AFTER ENGINE START AUTOPILOT TEST FBW TEST => invert order; you should test FBW before AP. TAKE OFF SET MILITARY/MAXIMUM POWER ……………………………………AS RQRD [DEPENDING ON THE LOAD / RUNWAY LENGTH / WEATHER] => No no no, definitely no. Afterburner is mandatory for taking off with the M-2000. Always. ROTATE ……………………………………AT 120 KNOTS => AT 120 KTS (CLEAN AIRCRAFT) Didn't review LANDING & further.

To steer the Mirage on the ground, you need: - yaw axis mapped (keyboard doesn't work for yaw at the moment; this is temporary bug) - DIRAV engaged (that's NWS, blue light on the configuration indicator). You could have done a little research, this thread is a duplicate of several others... Example: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=156905 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157614 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=156417 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=156560 Also I don't know what your mothertongue is (english isn't mine either), but could you double-check what you write? Perhaps with Google translate or some equivalent tool? It's a bit hard to understand what you mean. :)

Had that once (on Nevada too). Flagrum is right about distance to waypoint. Say... how much distance from Nevada to Caucasus?

I'm glad you laught too, it's a nice way to begin a day. :) I would be delighted if one can (and surprised, but in a good sense). ++ Az' PS: sent you a PM.

:megalol: :megalol: Ramsey, you just made my day (and risk spilling my coffe, but that's another matter). Really, m8, you're assuming far too much. ;)

M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM - Available for Pre-Purchase
Azrayen replied to MemphisBelle's topic in M-2000
Uh? Where did I hint at something like that? I was just answering about the licence transfer (purchase there, fly elsewhere). Ahem... you sure? Last time I checked, here's what was said. Quite different.
