@ PiedDroit: Given the texture of the PPA (with a white line separating the zone with G/AUTO/D + P/MISS + AUTO/MAN and the zone with P/MAG) I guess you're probably right i.e. the G/AUTO/D applies only to S-530D IRL. But there probably is another way for the pilot to select which Magic he wants to shoot. Since there seems to be no available data on how this is done, my opinion is that making the G/AUTO/D switch manage both the S-530Ds and the Magics - as Razbam indend to do if I correctly understood - is probably the best option. :) Regarding the AUTO/MAN switch, my understanding is that it was wired for the RDM only. No feature on the RDI for this. ++ Az'

Mhmm, I understand. But I don't like it. I prefer to learn the correct way already (even if not the most practical at the moment because of beta status) rather than learn (advice) a different way that only works because of the module current state. That other way will have to be unlearnt eventually...

I know that. My reacting was because you propose to use "Magic II SELECT" when there already is a "Cannon SELECT" control that is better suited. "Magic II SELECT" is not really a "cycle" control at the moment in DCS; it may look like one because currently with master arm up, guns is the default mode. ;)

Me too. Little problem in the FM in the current 1.5.3 OB. => fix incoming probably next time ;)
-
Yeah, this should not be. PCA only for AG. And no K1/K2. That's the WIP part. Ahem... Typo?
-
This is probably WIP, AA and AG guns modes are (should be) different.

C'est bien une roulette folle.

Use a lighter mission (if it was heavy) (just to be sure). Check that airport is your coalition's. Restart DCS host (currently Lotatc server is not able to reload mission, DCS at host should be quitted entirely).

Keep this in your favorites: http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/

Honestly, I don't share your concern. Do you usually start firing missiles within 30" of air-starting a mission? I probably don't.
-
agentdarnell, sure. But Doctor027 just posted other question about start-up, so I assumed he was flying DCS now but didn't knew about the manual being included ;)
-
He was joking ;)

You have it too, in your DCS installation... ;) = = = Oh, and please create topics about the M-2000 in the M-2000 sub-section of the forum. One step below => here.

Hi Zeus, if I may, slight revision: 1. Engage parking brake. 2. Turn Battery On. 2bis [optional but advised] Request GPU On. 3. Check position of TRN, ALT1 and ALT2 switches. Must be On. ALT yellow lights will remain On while the engine alternators are offline. 4. Click the Fuel Shut-Off switch to the "valve open" = switch to the right & cover CLOSED position. 5. Click Fuel pumps G and D to the ON position. 6. Select an ignition source by clicking on the VENT/G/D switch to the G or D position. 7. Open the starter switch cover (this moves ON the start-fuel pump). 6. Click on the starter switch. 8. At 11% RPM move the throttle to the Ground IDLE position. ** If you do use the battery only (no GPU), check the CC caution light. If it turns on it means that the battery is getting depleted. The use of a GPU for ground start is standard procedure & advised.

Just a reminder: VENT is short for Ventilation => mode in which the starter rotates the engine without injecting fuel in it, nor lighting the start-spark plugs; this is a specific mode used to drain any excessive fuel that may have been injected before. G is short for (bougie) Gauche => Left (start spark plug) D is short for (bougie) Droite => Right (start spark plug) So you don't select VENT on (if you want to start the engine). You select either the left or right spark plug. Only one plug is used for engine start on the ground (alternatively, to smooth plugs wear). FWIW both plugs are automatically selected/used for in-flight relight (using specific switch). Semantics? Perhaps. Also systems knowledge ;) ++ Az'

Because video is old, was made before electric system was fully implemented. Now, many systems requiring AC power won't work until you either: - have the engine running (= alternators working) - or have the GPU On = = = = = = = Regarding your throttle, I can't tell. I know you're not the only one (many topics about this), and each time it was an issue with the throttle (ingame) not being zero. This is why I advise to double-check this.

Hey Dutch Baron, Here: The first time: 0/ install everything needed: TS3, LotAtc client, UR (including its TS3 plugin) For each flight: 1/ launch TS3 and connect it to TS server; move out of the default channel (no UR there) 2/ launch LotAtc and connect it to DCS host 3/ launch UR ATC box 4/ in LotAtc, enable radio/UR + select a "location" (if you're an ATC: your airbase; if you play an AWACS controller: the AWACS itself) that UR will use to manage radio ranges and so on. 5/ it's now working, configure your radios (frequencies, which ones you wish to listen/talk) in UR ATC box... and enjoy!

A/ The lights remaining "On" on the alarm panel are normal because your engine is not started. B/ Your problem is that you can't start your engine => make both actions advised by Darkbrotherhood7, that is (in that order): --- 1/ ensure that your throttle axis is set to zero; use controls indicator if need be, the simulator may have a higher value than you actual physical axis; move the physical axis (your joystick/throtlle) to ensure synchronisation. --- 2/ as you have moved your throttle, you must reset the engine throttle to the "stop" position; to do that, press the "engine stop" red button next to the throttle. Then try again starting the engine :)

Well, in FC2 there was a day/night switch. We used it in AdA mod v2 to switch afterburner models and lighting up formation lights. It was on/off so a bit strange when switching, but otherwise very cool. Day: Night: Oh, and overwing vapor, too (old school, still nice): http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1490440#post1490440

Impressive! :) But I'm not sure "fair" is the term I would have chosen here. MMO for the M-2000 is 2.2 if my memory is not too rusty. Clean aircraft. (in fact the limit if from impact temperature, not fixed mach value)
-
I'm not sure how this could be answered. There was (is?) a small mod to improve the HUD glass transparency. For the rest, reading the recent changelogs: - a vast amount of bugs are already fixed; - the team seems focused on systems implementations & fixing; - the "art" part, already very nice, will probably get fixed where needed in due time. Hope this helps, Regards, Az'

I think so too. Didn't do dedicated tests, but still think I saw re-accquisition occuring sometimes.

Not a chance, the radar is in STT mode on the target at this time, no way it can "divert" to look for the outgoing missile.
-
The radar is in TWS (PSID), so it's normal to be able to detect/display other contacts. The fact that the other contact is aligned with the locked one doesn't change anything here.
