See realistic profile here: https://www.lotatc.com/projects/lotatc/wiki/Detection_Profiles#The-REALISTIC-profile This is LotAtc 4 DCS documentation. The realistic profile is this tool uses the same "rules" as DCS does. The circles you see in DCS mission editor are just indications.

Please read topics before asking. Already two threads about that (from memory), with a better suited title than the present one ;)
-
Please guys do not mix-up unrelated topics. Make several threads. :)
-
Well, that's a matter to raise to the author, then :) Good catch.

Guys, again: why arguing about that? Let's say auto-start feature will be done, like for other modules. Like it? Use it. Don't like it? Don't use it. Everyone happy. Is there more?
-
Guys, AFAIK Razbam didn't say that they were not doing that, and it looks to me like it's kind of "standart" in DCS modules. No sense in having a lenghty discussion about pro/cons. My point is: the aircraft is not ready yet; best example is the INS (not yet implemented). Any automatic start-up (or shut-down) procedure will eventually need to take INS into account. So it sounds logical to implement the INS first, then implement the automatic start-up procedure. Doing differently will require to make the procedure, then the INS, then remake the procedure => not very efficient IMO ;) Anyway, just my 2 cents. Carry on... :)

1/ remove any mod if you have them + make a DCS "repair" (shortcut in windows start menu) 2/ remove all files from you Saved Games\DCS to "reset" each and every option/setting of the game to a default value Both measures should be made temporarily (for example, moving files elsewhere so they are not used by the simulator, but not deleting them straight so you can reverse the maneuver later). 3/ try again.

Wow, that's a very thin dcs.log; I have much more lines in mine just going to the main menu & quitting immediately. Very weird...
-
Happy to read that, CptSmiley :) One problem we had was that any (little) change in thrust was translated in a pitch up/down movement. Not a big one, but enough to be "too much" when trying to contact the basket of the tanker.

jojo, I tested on OB 1.5.3 update 3 (so not the last version, the one just before) and it was ~impossible (and we were in MP, several people confirm). Will test again with last version. Oh, and yes we switched to CHARGES before attempting.

Nor do I. I know that on some aircraft (e.g. Rafale) entering the refuel mode indeed alters the way the FBW reacts, but I've never heard of such a feature on the M-2000.
-
I'm pretty sure that you can detect them with any prf - the reason being the moving rotor blades. You're probably right about helicopters. Perhaps a better example would have been any slow mover (airplane). Low speed difference vs the ground = close to notch = hard to detect with doppler HPRF. To me this means that a notch gate is not being used, which means anything that tries to notch is lost in the noise anyway Well, notch is not a factor then; noise is, sure. I guess you can reduce noise, somehow :) Notch/beam = related to doppler mode. Yet... ;)

UR works with the M-2000C (pretty good, by the way). So I guess there is a solution ;)
-
This seems correct :) Like on the A-10C, by the way ;)

Bonjour "This package is no longer for sale.":detective:

Mhmm, perhaps I misunderstood... @ 0' 14" : "Et fox 1" (and indeed mode 530 on the HUD). But then we saw Magic missiles (i.e. fox 2s). You changed point of view??
-
No Fox 1 anywhere to be seen... ;)
-
Thanks :) Using MAGIC-specific pylons (of course) on underwing internal points. Nice. Yeah, lots of people do that. Probably because: - French 2000-5Fs are upgraded Cs (not newly build airframes) - And that the -5F variant is still a pure fighter, that matches with the "logic" behind the "C" variant name (C = Chasse = Fighter)

Prepare to eject or die? :D "No visual"...
-
Clear & concise, thanks jojo :) What about PRED mode (predictive)? I'm under the impression it's seldom used, don't know how it looks, when by definition it seems more practical...
-
Woudl you post it (or a link to it) by any chance? :) What are "central supports"?
-
++ Az'

Not sure where you're heading too, actually... The screenshots you posted show the wing vapor: - on M2M aircraft for FSX (on wich 3D model Razbam's one is based) - on the AdA Mod v2 Mirage 2000-5F for FC2 (not the same team at all, but proud to say we were the first to do it, back then ;)) This exists IRL of course, but AFAIK it's not yet activated in DCS M-2000C (but on Razbam's to-do list). Regarding the wing flex: The Ramex Delta video you posted doesn't show any. You see the wing "shape" change quite a bit when the elevons and slats (control surfaces) are actuated, you see vibrations of the whole aircraft when g-load is higher, but no wing flex. Note the g-load is never severe here: the aircraft fly a coordinated demo, so maneuvers are "relaxed" for the wingman to be able to follow closely; it's not a single-ship demo. Plus they fly with a load ~ reprensentative of their missions, i.e. they use the big fuel tanks. Having them on means the FBW selector will be on the "CHARGES" position => FBW limits the g-load to 5.5g, not a lot. ;)

Been a while since 2.0 was updated. I was talking about 1.5 actually.

There is no "in the radar" nor "in the HUD" lock. There is TWS (=PID) and STT (=PIC). STT (PIC) is needed to fire & guide a S-530D. First lock should give you PID (and it's written on the radar display). Then second lock should give you PIC (and same remark). I think the radar can switch automatically from PID to PIC (FC3 radars do) on certain conditions but I'm not sure it's implemented right now. Didn't test that actually.
