Again...:cry: This is just not possible. You can switch to spin (vrille) mode. You can activate emergency (~fixed) gains. You cannot switch the whole FBW off, there is no mechanical back up. FBW off = no controls, at all.
-
You do not set frequencies for the IFF, those are codes (and modes). IFF being a system based on interrogation-answer, it it not possible for Razbam to implement it "all by himself". Indeed it would need that all other aircraft type have the ability to answer based on mode & code (so they would need a way to set modes & codes, even the AI ones, even the human "FC3" ones without clickable cockpit. And even if ED and all 3rd parties did that, we would then be "stuck" by real life incompatibilities: no more F-15 identifying Su-27 from the same coalition as "friendly" because those 2 aircraft do not share a compatible IFF system, due to west/east history (and it's a valid remark for every aircraft). This would restrain the mission makers imagination, not a cool thing to do. My guess is it won't happen soon. ;)
-
FWIW, this is a misconception. You cannot shut off the FBW. That's the only way you have to control the aircraft. Sure, FBW incorporates degraded modes and can afford to loose some of its components (and associated functionnalities) but it would never be "effectively shut off"... or you would have one choice only: ejection ;) - - - - - About the "unresponsiveness", I can't comment as I haven't really flown the aircraft lately, mostly tested system head in the cockpit.
-
No need to switch in flight. Normal way is, while editing a mission (<= this is mandatory, unless dedicated missions are provided with the mod), to set the aircraft skill to "player" (for single player flight) or "client" (for multiplayer flight). If those options aren't available, your mod and/or your installation is "broken" somehow.

Yeah, Tharos is such a knowledgeable people about the Eagle that he's at risk of being Eagle-biased more than the next guy ;) My money on a "Typhoon-like" system for the M-2000C, given the look of the control on the throttle in the Mirage (for elevation only, obviously for azimuth the control is a return-to-center type as it's the same that moves the TDC)
-
That's also how I read it. BTW, I think I remember some guy saying HPRF is the default or the "main" mode of the RDI. I suggest that, when he upgrades the PRF switch, Zeus makes him have "HFR" as the default position. Yeah, OK too. Except you seem to distinguish MPRF and Interleaved. "Only" 3 settings exist, not 4: - HFR = High PRF (doppler) - MFR/ENT = "Medium" PRF in fact an interleavation of HPRF and LPRF. - BFR = Low PRF (non doppler)
-
My money on that.

Guys, OP is asking about an AI model. It's just cosmetics, nothing to do with radar and capabilities, it's not about making it flyable. @ Teschmacher: to make it correctly, Razbam would have to make changes to the 3D model (there are differences between the two aircraft, subtle one but still), plus have dedicated liveries (could be derived from the existing one, but still a bit of work) plus check the animations do well (I guess so since the 2000C is AI capable too) plus check for the loadouts (not the same; new pylons would be required for MICA for example). Overall, it's nothing impossible but it would still take some time investment. To what end? And knowing that there is still work to do on their own model, I guess if it's considered it's not the highest on Razbam's priority list. Anyway, I like the idea :) Just my 2 cents. You're streching it a lot. Bug and Super are far more different (in shape only) than C and -5.

I have a dream... (you may begin to run, a user comes up with an idea :D): Wouldn't it super cool that a human controller (using LotAtc) could send a target through datalink (named téléaffichage on the aircraft) to a pilot flying the M-2000? I'll ask DArt too, obviously. :) But I'm surprised as to why the designers of the radar choose not to make the VTB display the contacts it could detect? I mean, with the 160 range, a contact really detected at 70 NM could be displayed at the center of the screen... So, are you sure of that? Feels weird at first glance! (perhaps it's a declutter issue, though...) = = = = Happy to hear about the other progress. Sound logical indeed to get ground returns in BFR (Low PRF) since it's non-doppler. I take it we won't get those returns in DCS for the time being (waiting for some kind of "A-G radar API")? Or do you think you can work a way around current limitation to implement it anyway? ++ Az'
-
I don't know if Razbam plans it, but if yes I can guess why it's not done already: probably best to wait for the INS.
-
It's not an Airbus. Due to its instable aerodynamic configuration, a direct mode is kind of simply impossible on the M-2000. Even the more degraded modes of the FBW are not direct.
-
Agreed. Agreed too.

I'm not at home, so no DCS for me just now but... What I did with FC3 aircraft, where the TDC was waaaayyy too quick with the HOTAS Warthog, was setting curves and saturation (IIRC) in a TARGET profile. Perhaps this would work for the M-2000 as a workaround until the next patch?

Karl, I'm sorry, it's a bit difficult to understand what problem remains and what is solved... I'll stay on the safe side by writing only the following (sure informations): 1/ The RWR had the number of threats detected in the center ("little circle" = 0 in fact); that was a placeholder/debug thing. Now the RWR displays a cross, like the real thing do. This is not a bug, this is just Razbam making the module better. 2/ Your data (medals...) are in C:\Users\<you>\Saved Games\DCS; reinstalling DCS will not touch those files, only those in the application install folder. And before reinstalling (it's a bit long), you may way to do a much simpler "repair". No risk trying that, as long as you haven't voluntarily tampered your DCS installation. ++

In the /doc folder of the module (like for every module, by the way ;))

Mhmm... a little optimistic. Rule of thumb: time of actual developpement = time envisaged x π (3.14) :D
-
Nice one!! Right click on the switch => go HFR (High PRF) even if the switch itself doesn't move.

\o/ GG DArt :)

Ouch, huge confusion here. The Mirage does not use mmHG but hPa, and you can set any altimeter to either QNH or QFE. QFE and QNH are two different things. - QFE is set so that when on the ground at the terrain/airbase, altimeter shows 0 - QNH is set so that when on the ground at the terrain/airbase, altimeter shows the altitude of terrain relative to MSL (mean sea level). Both QFE and QNH can use different units: - hPa (standart in France/Europe) - inHg (standart in North America) - mmHg (standart in Russia / CIS) The "STD" (standard) pressure used for all aircraft above transition level (so that wherever you come from / go to you can have the same setting as the next aircraft flying past you, or as the ATC of the country you're overflying) is : 1013(.25) hPa 29.92 inHg 760 mmHg

Hi, You shouldn't assume like that; it's easy to check :) (and the answer is: not really). ++ Az'

I do from times to times. The fact is I too often pick up errors on topics I'm familiar with to blankly trust what they write. In this particular case, what they wrote comes in contradiction with: - discussions with various crews - the absence of NVG-compatible cockpit (vs M-2000D for example) Sure, it could be done, but with serious limitations. The number of available goggles is not the only parameter. The usefullness of those comes to play, too: you more/less don't need them for air to air duties, and that's mostly what the Cs did most of their career (same argument gives no NVG on -5F too).
-
Back to the original question: There is a roller left of the HUD on/off button that is for the HUD brightness. IIRC this is not implemented in DCS (yet, I guess).
-
I stand corrected :) But it's very recent. Wasn't the cockpit upgraded? Because AFAIK Razbam is making a S5, not a 2015 aircraft (S5-2C with perhaps more enhancements). For example the standard alarm panel is too bright for NVGs, M-2000D have a dimmed one for quite some time.
