Uhmm…no. It is exactly how it works because for many years the pilot was not able to set or let alone „change“ the laser code of ordnance from inside the jet. Alternatively, if you mean, that the pilot doesn‘t just roll the dice and chooses a laser code of his liking, then yes. It is ordered by an SOP or in the ATO. But the point still stands, the pilot will check in with the JTAC and tell him the laser code of the ordnance he has loaded. The JTAC will then set the laser code in his laser designator.

Das ist nicht Deine Schuld. Die Tracks sind nicht wie eine Videoaufzeichnung. Das Track-System war ursprünglich eher als DebugTool konzipiert. Manchmal werden dann im Replay einige Eingaben nicht korrekt wiedergegeben.

This is a bit silly. The NATOPS basically is the „Instruction Manual“ on how to operate the plane, hence it reflects how the plane was designed to be operated. The source that states that the F/A-18 can take off with flaps set to AUTO. I‘m sure it can be accomplished somehow…still doesn‘t mean it was meant to be done.

Also AMRAAMs solltest Du nur in STT oder TWS verschiessen. Ich geh von RWS meist kurz in STT und dann TWS. Dann am besten den TWS Knopf oben rechts drücken, dann ist man direkt in TWS AUTO und das Radar versucht das gewählte Ziel immer im Zentrum des Suchbereiches zu behalten.

Im Radar mit dem TDC (Cursor) über das zweite Ziel gehen, das Du bekämpfen willst und dann kurz einmal TDC drücken. Jetzt sollte das zweite Ziel mit einem Dreieck markiert sein. Wenn Du jetzt Undesignate drückst, schaltest Du immer zwischen diesen beiden Zielen hin und her und kannst Sie abwechselnd mit AMRAAMs bekämpfen. Ergibt das jetzt mehr Sinn? Aber Respekt, dass Du Dich in dem Alter so detailliert damit befasst. Ich muss das meinem Vater auch mal Nahe legen…

Deine Antwort ist meiner Kenntnis nach so nicht ganz richtig bzw. unvollständig. Das funktioniert zwar, wenn das Radar gerade wirklich nur 2 Ziele sieht (Und ich bin mir gerade nicht sicher, ob die ausgewählte Range dabei berücksichtigt wird, oder nicht), kann aber schief gehen. Jedenfalls, wenn jetzt noch ein Ziel auftaucht, würdest Du mit UNDESIGNATE jetzt durch alle 3 Ziele durchschalten. Damit ein Ziel zum DT2 wird, musst Du es erst mit einem TDC single press als solches designieren. JETZT kannst Du mit UNDESIGNATE zwischen den beiden Zielen L&S und DT2 hin und her schalten. Aber ja…ein „Fox3 two-ship“ ist schon ein erhabenes Gefühl…

@JJK Yes, we (fresh and me) are aware of all that. And yet in an MP mission the required GS indication made us arrive over the IP(!) at the TOT we had entered. I was able to reproduce the problem on that particular mission with the SEQ we had set. Now due to a mix of preset waypoints and some custom waypoints our SEQ is not the usual 1-2-3-4-5-6 but 50-13-51-52-12, where 12 was the TGT. If we don‘t select a GS for the last leg, the system works as advertised. Also if I try it in a more „clinical“ environment with a 1-2-3-4-5-6 SEQ, it works correctly with a set GS for the last leg. I will create a track tomorrow maybe.

Have you checked your 2D Screen while this happens? Sometimes there are pop-ups on the lower right corner (i.e. from the Anti-Virus etc…). If this pop-up overlaps with the respective button in DCS, then you actually click into the pop-up and thus get the Out of focus notification. Solutions: check if there is something in the way, overlapping the respective DCS button on the monitor and simply close it and then click onto the DCS screen again.

So just for the records, if someone else reads this: I was partly wrong. Unlike all the other buttons on the stick, ED chose to not call this one by its name. Instead the requested function is just called „Select AMRAAM“…

ok...ich lag etwas daneben.Es heisst ganz stumpf "Select AMRAAM". null Es spielt keine Rolle, mit welcher key-combo das hinterlegt ist. Du belegst einfach einen Button Deiner Wahl mit dieser Funktion...in meinem Fall z.B. BTN16.

Just assign that button to „Weapon Select Switch Right“. There is no need to use a modifier.

Yes… I posted about this about a year ago already. There is a mod that kind of helps with the problem. But occasionally I still find shadows a bit blurry or flickering.

Mit welchem Aspekt bist Du denn genau nicht zufrieden? Welche weiteren Rahmenbedingungen sollen wir bei unseren Vorschlägen denn beachten? sonst sag ich einfach mal Varjo XR-4 oder Somnium VR1… EDIT: Ich habe keine davon…ich will damit lediglich darauf hinweisen, dass Dein Budget ja schon mal ein wesentlicher Eckpunkt ist.

How do these Link disconnects look like for you guys? I‘m asking because I‘m not sure if it‘s Link disconnects that I am experiencing occasionally or something else…

Wie sieht denn Deine Verbindung genau aus? Nutzt Du einen Dedicated Router nur für VD? Also separat von Deinem normalen Internet? Ist der PC per Ethernetkabel mit dem Router verbunden? So sieht nämlich die Empfehlung seitens VD aus.

Mal vorweg, Du kannst nicht einfach irgendein USB-Kabel nehmen. Das muss schon die Spezifikationen erfüllen. Das Kabel von Meta ist recht teuer, aber es gibt wohl deutlich günstigere Alternativen. Ansonsten brauchst Du noch auf dem PC die MetaApp. Wenn Du die installiert hast, sollte dort die Quest3 angezeigt werden und Du kannst diverse Einstellungen machen. Unter anderem wird auch das USB-Kabel getestet, ob es die Datenrate schafft. Wichtig ist, in den allgemeinen Einstellungen MetaLink als OpenXR runtime auszuwählen. wenn Du nun die Brille aufsetzt jnd einschaltest, bist Du ja zumächst in der Meta VR Umgebung. Dort einfach an dem grauen Balken auf die Uhr klicken und dann auf „Link“. Dort noch schauen, dass Kabel ausgewählt ist und dann starten. Daraufhin verändert sich die Umgebung zu so einem grauen Hintergrund und einer Taskleiste unten. Dort halb rechts auf das Minitor symbol klicken und dann siehst Du vor Dir Deinen Desktop-Hintergrund. Jetzt DCS starten… P.S.: Bin mir nicht ganz sicher, ob man auch noch die MetaApp auf den Handy braucht…ich brauch sie, weil ich den Developer Mode nutze. Es gibt natürlich noch viel mehr zu erzählen zu Einstellungen etc…aber das sollte es erstmal sein um es grundsätzlich zum Laufen zu bekommen.
