  1. The stick in the Hornet does not move with trim.
  2. I don‘t know why it is like that really. All I can say is, that it is „normal“ for that map. Maybe textures also and detailed buildings etc… Caucasus is a bit more repetitive in that regard maybe and less „true to life“. Google „Batumi“ for example and check how much more interesting it looks IRL.
  3. Just say „2“. It means you have understood the command. Call „2 sorted eastern“ once you have the respective contact designated on your radar. (There is no left or right. Cardinal directions fir side-side formations, and „leader/trailer“ for formations where one contact appears behind another one) „Scope‘s clean“ if you don‘t have any RDR contact. “Unable“ might be an option as an immediate response as well.
  4. I don‘t know if the AI ATC will do that, but normal Case 1 ops are done „zip-lip“, so without much comms. Every squadron has an assigned altitude stack and 2 flights (might be even 3…anybody correct me on that) can be at one altitude at a time.
  5. Turn it on in your headset. Turn it on in DCS under the VR options. It works…and yet you will be disappointed.
  6. I don‘t know how old you are, but this has always been the case with flight simulators. Jane‘s US Navy Fighters, Strike Commander, Falcon 4.0 etc….they always demanded pretty much the latest hardware…so, there’s nothing to see here…move on…! And? What‘s that obsession with 90FPS? But I tell you something, it won‘t even make 72FPS in certain situations…
  7. @LOW_Hitman I would have to recheck. Maybe I always just thought this was due to ASW itself. I believe I have Turbo off at the moment, though.
  9. A 4090…but before you say it…I still run into ASW occasionally, especially over the Mariannas. Also, as for you original post, yes, those artifacts over the sea or in the sky occur with ASW. I‘ve had this ever since I have the QuestPro for about a year now. I was simply pointing out, that turning on Turbo mode on OXRTK will not turn off ASW. EDIT: Sorry if my answer was misleading in that regard.
  10. Turbo mode does not turn off ASW as far as I know. It just might not work very well with motion reprojection. However, I did use both at the same time without any detrimental effect. (At least I didn‘t notice any). On a QuestPro that is.
  12. With a Quest you don‘t need SteamVR at all. You can use QuestLink via USB cable or via WiFi. Or you could use VirtualDesktop via WiFi as well. In either case it should be a fast and stable, ideally a dedicated, WiFi connection.
  13. Well, the announced Pimax Dream Air would check all those boxes, but comes at a 2000€ pricetag +taxes (you do the math what that is in £…definitely more than 600 though). So the obvious option would be the Q3, I think. If you come from a G1 or G2, I can almost promise you, that you won‘t be disappointed. No more fiddling with adjusting for the sweet spot and you can even just glance at something and be able to see it without blur. I myself came from the G2 and went for a second hand (still sealed in the box) Quest Pro. I love the eye-tracking with QVFR. Maybe something to consider as well. They were not a huge success and sell at moderate prices (in your given range) on the second-hand market.
  14. The US Navy uses the ATFLIR because the LITENING II is not rated for carrier operations. USMC and foreign nations usually use the LITENING TGP.
  15. I don‘t think any takes precedence over the other. Depending on what setting you are talking about, they might in fact add up or even multiply with one another or cancel each other out. However, Oculus Debug Tool and Oculus Tray Tool are both pretty much doing the same thing, so I would advise to pick only one of them.
  16. For me, DLAA (without DLSS) offers the best visual quality. But I do use the DLSStweak.
  17. @Hobel Not at home right now, but I‘m pretty sure in the Hornet the TGP box will get updated in the HUD as well. Maybe one needs to designate via TDC depress before it‘s updated, which kinda makes sense though.
  18. Why are people always so obsessed with 90 Hz? My advice would be to use 72Hz. It will be way easier to achieve 72FPS to match the refresh rate. However, that has nothing to do with the sharpness though. Try without DLSS and to make up in terms of performance lower the pixel density (try 1.2 or 1.3). At the end of the day, there still is a limit to how sharp it will ever be due to how close you are to the display and the res of Q3. I‘ve never tried one, but yeah, I guess a Pimax Crystal would certainly deliver a sharper image.
  21. Yeah, you definitely have a valid point there.
  22. You‘re overthinking the racetrack pattern there too much. This is not an IFR holding. You can just eyeball it on the SA page. If you were given A5, just be roughly in the north and NOT CLOSER than 5NM to E. In terms of system usage, I wouldn‘t even bother to make A5 a dedicated point. I would just put in E and then use the CRS line accordingly in order to stay north. P.S.: Since it sounds like you are quite dedicated, check out my sig! We are looking for new Hornet pilots.
Sorry, wollte keine Unruhe/Verwirrung stiften.
  24. @Panzerlang To be honest with you, you don‘t come along very nicely and reasonable in that conversation either. Since I could not find any reviews of the Crystal Super, I guess nobody has received one for that purpose yet. So why would he be pissed at Pimax? This makes even less sense, since he actually recommends the Pimax Crystal Light as the best VR headset (in the still affordable pricerange). He even mentions recent quality control issues with Pimax. So I would say, that this is still a very balanced POV. Bear in mind, that this is not an in-depth review of any of the headsets recommended in the video. At the end of the day, youtubers express their opinions(!) and everybody should be aware of that and build his/her own decision on not just a single review.
