Specific Keybinds and Up/Down Keybinds for Selector Switches

Aerges please add specific keybinds for selector switches such as IDN Mode Selector or Radar Function Selector, etc. Currently there are only options for turning the knob left/right. It would be very helpful to be able to directly select e.g. the radar modes (H.A, I.A, etc.) or the IDN modes (TT, TE, VT, AR). Many button boxes (e.g. VKB SEM or STECS) have mode selector switches which could then be bound to the functions mentioned above. On the other hand some switches like the Stores Jettison Select Switch only have bindings for their positions (up, middle, down). Here it would be great to have bindings to move them up/down, or - even better - toggle switches. The up/down keybinds could then be used with K-switches. Generally, having more options to add keybinds would greatly improve the usability for existing button boxes and HOTAS setups.-

Wow, thanks for the quick reaction! However, what I meant is something like in my screenshot. Reason is that it is already hard to match the sound with the corresponding airframe. But knowing which radar type is in that fighter is even one step harder - and frankly not that relevant IMHO. Please excuse, my first post was not very clear in that regard.

You're the man! That quiz is really helpful! But if I may make a suggestion, it would be to include the airframe of the respective radar in the provided answers - that's the information which is the most important for me as a pilot in the end.

Could anybody please elaborate on the gain control for the F-1's radar? It seems that it has no effect on the display. But maybe I am using it wrong...

Uncage and SEAM is not the same thing though. I.e. as I understand you have to lock first, then uncage. In planes without SEAM (like the F-1?) an un-locked and un-caged seeker just floats randomly around IMHO.

A bit late to the party, but does the 530 IR uncage? Couldn’t find anything in Chuck‘s manual.

Thanks for the detailed insights @303_Kermit! I am currently considering getting the F-1 as well as I really like the looks of it. One of the main advantages over the F-4 is the better RWR as well IMHO. The F-4's one is practically useless in A2A.

Did you, by any chance, also test with 50% fuel - as most other evaluations usually take that as a reference weight?

What would be the most promising tactics in BVR and WVR against the F-4, especially in multiplayer? From my POV those two icons’ performance is quite closely matched... Many thanks in advance for your insights!

Hi guys, what are your experiences with the AN/ALQ-131 against A2A missiles - especially against the F-1's R.530EM? Does it make sense to bring the jammer in a MP environment? Many thanks for your insights!

Puh, better practice your aiming skills then. I personally find it very hard to hit anything with the gun in the F-4 - on MP servers at least.

I have the same issues. Sound quits for some seconds from time to time for no particular reason. In my case the complete sound is affected: engine, comms, etc. Everything else runs fine meanwhile. My system is quite powerful - 9800X3D, RX 7900 XT and 64 GB - so that should not be an issue.

Or could I just use existing backseat commands via .lua editing also from the front seat? What would I need to do? Great, thx! I will try that as a walkaround as well! You mean in VAICOM, right? Yes, but those commands are integrated in the AIRIO module of VC, that breaks the integrity check on multiplayer servers and thus is not useable there.

Is there any way to create custom Jester keybinds? I really would like to have a quick option to: drop tanks modify flares mode (pilot/single/multi) Maybe with VoiceAttack? I just do not have any experience with programming functions there. I use VAICOM as well, but the AIRIO extension is not allowed on certain MP servers.

I really hope the new logic will come sooner than later! I never got used to the Jester wheel in the Tomcat but used Vaicom instead. However, that’s not allowed on certain MP servers which stops me from flying it there.

Is there a current one with combat flaps emplyment? I think the one above does not show the full potential.

Is there anything speaking against leaving the CW switch continuously on? Maybe overheating or does it trigger some RWRs?
