  1. Marianas WWII looks spectacular, but I don't have the space for it. Is it possible not to download it?
  2. I think that the Mainstay in on a racetrack orbit but I am not sure. Jester does struggle with acquiring a track for the Mainstay, but does so eventually, although, come to think of it, I am not sure if the Phoenix ever goes active.
  3. I am really enjoying these missions and the older pack, the two-week war. I am stuck however on the 5th Tomcat mission. I don't know what is going on, but the Mainstay is impervious to Phoenixes. I'm 0/8 against it. On the latest attempt, I launched both from 41,000 feet at 1.05 mach from 45 miles away and they still didn't come close. Could it be that target size setting makes a difference? I never set it to large. Or is there something else at play?
  4. You are comparing apples to oranges. Heatblur is a small firm that undertakes relatively big projects. The F-4 was designed with the component system from the ground up and it spent years under development. Doing it for the Tomcat would require an almost complete rework of the entire module which would again take years when they already have the A-6, the Eurofighter and who knows what else in the works. Not saying that I wouldn't want more features for the Tomcat and faster squashing of bugs, but I get why it's taking so long.
  5. Yes, the probe was located in the drogue properly. I asked him to rejoin after 7~8 minutes, it took him twice that long to do it though.
  6. Just flew a campaign mission with the AI wingman staying stuck to the S-3 for 15 minutes before finally rejoining.
  7. I don't have an example. I was looking to fly them, and I checked out the relevant thread. There are issues reported with Iron Heel M04 and M06 in Reforger 2, if I remember correctly, which as far as I can tell have not been addressed.
  8. Could fixing the issues with the Reforger campaigns be added?
  9. Can the Reforger campaigns be finished, or are they too buggy?
  10. The S-3 as well, whose refuelling lights, by the way, remain unfixed despite claims to the contrary in the changelog.
  11. Does this mission have more bugs? I follow the route, reach the final waypoint and nothing happens. Am I missing something?
  12. It's worse after you trap and you're directed to park. The directors have you go through a Hornet in order to get to the parking spot. It only happens in the Carrier qual mission for the A model though, the one for the B seems to have a slightly different deck configuration.
  13. This is weird. All mods in Saved Games have stopped working. Keybinds and settings work correctly but mods do not anymore.
  14. Nice changelog, but it would have been nicer with the sound fixes.
  15. Any chance we get an update regarding the status of this mission? Is it flyable in its current state?
  16. If I understand this correctly, the script backups the existing textures and replaces them with an optimized version. So, it's actually increasing the number of texture files which doesn't matter as long as I keep the backup files on a different drive?
  17. There haven't been much news and development on the Tomcat since before the Phantom's release. It's understandable that your resources and attention would be focused there, but sometimes it does feel like nothing is going on behind the scenes, even though that's not the case. It'd help if you guys were more active here and in Discord. You are basically the only HB developer still engaging with F-14 users.
  18. Didn't want to start a new thread so here goes: Speed and Angels is both excellent and to some extent frustating. The Good: It's exceptionally researched and its scripts are nothing less than masterful. They are making the AI do stuff that should be for all intents and purposes impossible. Its realism and immersion factor are through the roof. The story, the briefings, the voice-acting, the attention to detail and the overall atmosphere are simply stupendous. Also, it really does work as a training aid, it will make a player far more proficient with the Tomcat. The Bad: Its realism is also its downfall. MIssion 13's night AAR mission for instance. By the end of it, my eyes were sore. Seeing the tanker shouldn't be that difficult. I get that such missions take place all the time, but real life pilots have better lightning conditions that players have in their screens or VRs. Same goes for the restrictions during the training missions. They are realistic, but again real Tomcat pilots had a much better feel of their speed, Gs and what the plane was doing than flight simmers. Especially those like myself who only have a T1600m joystick and a mediocre webcam for somewhat laggy head tracking. You get the hang of it eventually, but it can become really frustrating, real fast. I think that a bit more latitude would help, especially those who are new to the Tomcat. At the end of the day, flying the numbers and following procedures was more difficult than fighting the Chinese; by some distance too. Also, I don't see the point of flying a holding pattern for 10-15 minutes waiting for the Prowler to join up in mission 15. Delays and waiting takes place in real life missions all the time, does it need to happen in a virtual one as well? I did find some weird AI behaviour, but I'm pretty sure thatit has to do with DCS and not the campaign itself. Paco in almost all the training missions flew erratically when he returned to Nellis. I've seen him fly all the way with his speed brake out or "tapping the brakes" like in Top Gun. He slowed down and then went up vertically. He seemed alright once the setting moved to Marianas though. In conclusion: I don't regret buying Speed and Angels for a second. It can become taxing and too much at times, but it's utterly addictive. I can't recommend it enough.
  19. It's on, that's the first thing I checked.
  20. No mods and I have run a repair. Do you have labels on all missions when you play them throught the campaign menu?
  21. I think that it has something to do with the in-mission loading. I think there were labels in the familiarization mission, but since then I don't recall seeing any. Also, if I launch the campaign missions individually throught the ME, the labels show up.
  22. Is there anyone else that uses labels? Labels work fine in every other mission but for the ones in this campaign and since I have a small screen it's almost unplayable for me. Could it have something to do with the in-mission loading that takes place? Maybe it's a DCS bug.
  23. Thank you both. I'll probably give it a pass then.
  24. I'm probably missing something, but why is there no trial option for Kola? Especially since it's in EA?
  25. I know that there are workarounds, that's not the point.
