+1, yes, this issue is really annoying

Keybind for opening of "service hatches" (open/close etc.) is now available, but has not been bound to any keyboard command in the default settings (at least for me).

I'd expect that the rotor downwash would clear away the raindrops, right? (or at least reduce the remaining water to a minimum) Can e.g. be seen in Spudknocker's recent YouTube video at 14:11

In mission 9 I was unable to home in on Naqoura NDB (330 kHz), maybe also in earlier misisons. In mission editor I was unable to find the respective advanced waypoint action associated with a friendly object. Great campaign btw - many thanks! The documentation provides a fantastic background to the storyline. Btw: Is there a Discord channel available? All related links I found (e.g. in YouTube) had been outdated.

UPCOMING UH-1 CAMPAIGN / STORM FRONT by Low Level Heaven
jetsimace replied to CHPL's topic in Community News
Just finished the Stormfront campaign, I can give a clear recommendation . Interesting and immersive storyline (supported by comprehensive documentation) with not overly complicated but still challenging and diversified missions (besides slingload, but that might be my personal challenge ). Optional pathfinding support (via F10 menu) is a nice addition. The online thing I am looking forward to for the next campaign is using a different chopper than the Huey and/or a different theater/landscape than the Caucasus (afaik a Mi-8 campaign is already in the works , but e.g. the newly added and feature-complete Kiowa with its great flight model would also be worth looking at). -
The wipers are moving, but still are not effective (do not clean the front windows from rain), right?

MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle - use shift state for (mode encoder) dials?
jetsimace replied to jetsimace's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Thanks for your help! My settings look the same (of course button numbers are different), but in VPC Joystick tester (as well as DCS in-game) logical button 71 will not be triggered. "Delay" on or off has no noticable effect (at least for me). Shift state works fine with other (non-dial / encoder) buttons. Strange is that even if I set Shift state for logical button # 71 (of type dial/encoder) to "OFF", logical button 71 will not be triggered. Only my first assigned logical button to this dial/encoder (#51 with same settings) will be triggered. In contrast to that, a three-way physical switch I am able to use twice. Then I have assigned the shift state to my original logical button (#51) and the non-shift state to the new logical button (#71) - don't ask me why, but this setup now works !! -
MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle - use shift state for (mode encoder) dials?
jetsimace replied to jetsimace's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Thanks. I already had that assignement, but I tried again (including assignment of a new "SHFT2" state to the 5-way dial): new logic button #71 under the same physical (encoder) button #62 and assigned it to SHFT2 - please see below (2nd screenshot). That doesn't work either, while the first one without any shift state (here logical button #51, see first screenshot) works fine. Shift state "SHFT2" itself works fine. Have you tried yourself or was that just your assumption that it should work? Strange thing is, that already if I assign a second logical button without any shift state to the same encoder dial (see 3rd screenshot), this already does not work...maybe "encoder" only works for one logical button and/or for one "mode encoder" dial / physical encoder button? -
TSD / moving map - meaning of "rectangle / box" (solid line)?
jetsimace replied to jetsimace's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Thanks guys! (meanwhile page # in "Early access guide" is 516 - just in case anyone is looking for the screenshots) -
I am using the two dials at the throttle (front right, please see attached screenshot) to decrease or increase the AH-64 MPD's brightness. Both dials are of "mode encoder" type (set in Virpil's VPC configuration tool sw). Now I would need another 2 dials to act as "video control knob" for the MPDs, so I was wondering if I could use an additional shift state to get another two dials e.g. when pressing the dial+twisting. Unfortunately shift state doesn't seem to work together with "mode encoder" dials (for setting that doesn't work see second attached screenshot - only difference to the one that is working is the additional shift state. The "SHIFT1" state itself is properly recognized) Has anyone been able to get a shift state working for a "mode encoder" dial. If so, how?

How to map Virpil T50CM3 Rotary encoder under DCS
jetsimace replied to Hunter Joker's topic in VIRPIL Controls
I assume you're talking about those two dials bottom right at the throttle (first attached screenshot), right? If so, you are able to map a logical button to action "turn left dial to the left" via this setting (see second attached screenshot, here physical button 62 is the button which is triggered when "turning left dial to the left"). This logical button 51 will be triggered multiple times as long as you turn the left dial to the left and can be mapped (e.g. to "turn brightness of MPD down" etc.) in DCS. virpil sw manual can be found here (but - at least for me - is not 100% self-explanatory ) https://support.virpil.com/en/support/solutions/articles/47001249267-vpc-software-suitenull null -
Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread
jetsimace replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in DCS Modding
Is anyone else having issues with downloading Tacview version 1.9.3 ? (I have tried Edge, Chrome and Firefox at https://www.tacview.net/download/latest/en/) Update 2024-06-27: Download via Onedrive is working fine. -
I have reported ARF.DLL to be a false positive detection to the Symantec/Norton team, let's see what happens...

I had an issue with F-15E authorization at DCS startup and Norton Antivirus reported malicious behaviour (Trojan.Gen.MBT) in ARF.DLL which was deleted. I followed the recommendation provided by DCS support (many thanks for the quick reply!) to exclude my DCS World OpenBeta installation folder from Norton Antivirus and did a full repair. After that, I have uploaded the file <My Open Beta installation folder>\Mods\aircraft\F-15E\bin\ARF.DLL to virustotal.com and still half of the security vendors flagged this file as malicious. According to some DCS forums, this is a false positive, so why haven't those security providers been informed about the false positive already? I would do that, but based on what proof? To be honest, I still have an uneasy feeling...

+1, a training campaign for the Hornet (or Apache) set in Nevada/Nellis would be an instant buy for me

From the newsletter: ...take control of the Spitfire Mk IX, P-47D Thunderbolt, P-51D Mustang, and Mosquito FB VI to engage in the high-stake Harbour Bombing Raid, and experience the 'Train Strafe’ mission... Still can't find those missions - please see attached screenshot for the Spitfire (taken from DCS 2.9... Open Beta) Or the naming is different? (which would be confusing...)

A NEW DLC CAMPAIGN FOR THE Mi-8?
jetsimace replied to CHPL's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
MI-8, really? Why not Apache? -
Do you have any new campaign plans? Maybe for Mi-24 in Syria map?

I thought a trigger had been activated because all remaining enemies suddenly vanished. I was wondering what the convoy is supposed to do when the bridge ahead cannot be crossed any longer and there seems to be no other road/detour available.

UPCOMING UH-1 CAMPAIGN / STORM FRONT by Low Level Heaven
jetsimace replied to CHPL's topic in Community News
I like having the ability to autostart as repeating the same steps again and again at some point just gets boring. This in combination with speeding up time during autostart also brings me much faster to what I really want - and this is simply flying
