  1. Please don't buy the 4060ti. In most benchmarks is barely faster than the older 3060ti, and in some high resolution tests it's actually SLOWER than the card it was intended to replace. The extra VRAM on the 16GB model won't help you as the chip doesn't have the raw power to fully utilize that much memory. It's like the old 3060ti 8GB vs 3060 12GB dilemma: the 3060ti was way better in almost every scenario while having less ram. See here:
  2. Right now it's a though decision, as Nevada is dull, and looks and feels older than the newer maps. Sinai looks way better and has the option for naval ops, but the performance isn't good at the moment.
  3. Go to Settings - Gameplay - Improved Spotting Dots - set to Off. Check if that helps.
  4. Super 4xxx cards ended up being meh at best. It depends on at which price can you get the card you want. 4070ti is enough for a Quest 3, as long as you don't try to run at max settings. Those 16GB VRAM are great for DCS at a (reasonable?) price.
  5. Most monitors have an "eye saver mode" (that's how mi Samsung calls it) you can try.
  6. Use the trial program and you can try almost any plane for 2 weeks. Then you can decide if you want to buy it or not.
  7. I might be mistaken, but afaik SAMs take a very long time to get resupplied, like 30 minutes or so.
  8. No problems for me. It's an older plane from a time before fly-by-wire, so if you're used to newer stuff that flies straight like the Hornet or the Viper, you'll have a hard time at first. It has an amazing roll rate, as the real plane was like that. Limit the roll axis to 50-60%. You can also add a 20% curve to make it behave in a more predictable way.
  9. You can go to "Controls" in DCS and change the key for the Comms menu so it doesn't interfere with Windows.
  10. Not at all. The guy is just VR hater.
  11. Glad to have helped.
  12. Communication Menu in the Controls?. Default is "\".
  13. I only fly in VR. The immersion is amazing, even if the graphics are lacking compared with 2D.
  14. I'm building a Yom Kippur campaign for the A-4. Golan front, so Syria map. Planning to do the Sinai front down the line. Yes, we don't have the exact planes and units, but I think a reasonable compromise can be achieved. For Israel we have the Phantom and the Skyhawk. No Mirage III, but F1 is a reasonable substitute. Main ground units, no Centurion but a Patton (not the exact version tho). Merkava is too new for that war. On the Arab forces, MiG-21 and MiG-19. Most 21s used were other variants, but acceptable. No Su-7 but you can still use the Su-17 we have and limit them to older weapons. No MiG-17, replace it with the MiG-15 and the UFO flight model it currently has. Syrians had some Tu-16 Badgers with cruise missiles. That is something I could not replace. I used Tu-95s but their weapons are too modern for this conflict. For red ground units we have almost the whole set, we're just missing T-62s some elite syrian units had. SAMs, Hawk for Israel, SA-2 and SA-3 for the Arabs. Most units are present or reasonable replacements can be used. For weapons is the same. Just use some regular bombs and rockets and limit the air to air missiles. No AIM-9L, no Magic 2 or 530F for the Mirage, only R-3S for the Fishbed. If you're not a purist who needs to have everything right to the last letter of the designation, you can make it work.
  15. This is important. Before knowing the answer, let me suggest a 3060ti. It has only 8GB of VRAM, but it's better in every measure. Those 12GB in the regular 3060 are kinda useless as the GPU doesn't have the raw power to utilize that much memory.
  16. Same. You're just better off just using the mouse.
  17. "soon" since 2 months ago. And counting.
  18. Vsync is ignored in VR. It only works in 2D mode.
  19. If your rig is powerful enough to produce high FPS with MSAA 4x, obviously you've got nothing to gain with DLSS.
  20. You have to crank that sharpness slider all the way to the max. In my case in VR I had horrible shimmering before. DLSS improved massively on that front, in exchange for some ghosting and a little blurriness. Fair trade for me.
  21. DLSS = better performance with ghosting. MSAA = better visuals, kills your fps. Pick your poison.
  22. 1 - Increasing RAM will help with general stability and avoid memory related stutters, nothing more. Your machine is on the edge of playability for VR, so even if you add 64GB of RAM, overall performance won't improve much. 2 - I don't know as I don't use hand tracking. For me using the head controlled pointer is way better. 3 - Yes. Oculus Desktop app has a built-in test for your cable. 4 - Absolutely. Using OpenXR Toolkit is a must, as it offers fixed foveated rendering. Couple that with Oculus Tray Tool's reduce fov option and you can change your VR experience from miserable to -at least- decent.
  23. It works for me and apparently for the other guy too. You might have some issue there.
  24. It doesn't waste resources as it just mirrors what you're seeing in the headset. There's a trick to reduce DCS resolution on your monitor to something very low (like 800x600, can't remember exactly) for some supposed gain. I tested it extensively, couldn't find any difference in fps or frametimes.
