  1. I did dozens of tests where 10nm head-on R73, R27T and R60m wouldn't lock at all. It turns out, FF fulcrum needs to warm up the IR missile. And hot air start doesn't pre-warm the IR missile like other modules do, like F-14 or M2000C for example. So I think IR missile wouldn't work at all head on, whereas active pause for a minute solves the issue. I was thinking that IR missiles are underperforming, turned out that it's another DCS hot spawn issue.
  2. You are right about this. I didn't expect a hot spawn air borne jet to not warm-up. After active pausing for a minute they worked as intended, though R73 off bore still not very sensitive.
  3. Hi, I watch your vids on the youtube and appreciate your experience. But regarding the mig-29, there are varies reasons why LA won't come by. In the R27ET case, the guy knows that he had lock 18nm away, has the tone which means in-range, and only get LA in 3-4nm, so it's not a laser or range issue, it's simply IR missile not acquiring the target. Edit: With the help of Lixma, bow I know what went wrong.
  4. It can be done for steam branch sadly not for standalone. Maybe try launching it via steam though?
  5. This works well, but actually... It's just Pimax local dimming is not dark enough. Those screens can't show "dark" or "black", since "dark" is relative for a screen, so naturally they look awful. The only solution, without replacing better screens, is to build enough contrast between light and darkness, or just make the whole screen brighter, so "dark" looks relatively better. Basically what you've done. You lowered the overall brightness of the screen, to keep the "dark", and make things like lighted scenery, illuminated clouds, sky and moon, some part of the cockpit brighter by increasing gamma, at the cost of making all bright things brighter, so in day time you need to lower the contrast so that it's less bright, but also less vivid. Good job compentasting the not-so-good algorithm from Pimax. But actually, pulling the gamma up to 2.7-3.0 in game before night ops solves the issue. The night would look slightly brighter than your setting, and not as convenient as your plan, but the day looks better with normal contrast.
  6. Temporarily removed those comments to double check if that's from a declassified manual.
  7. 2026 seems a bit too early for Typhoon. A-6E and J-35 ai haven't been delivered (soon). F-14A 95gr is finishing up and HB in its news said more to come for F-14 in 2025. F-4E isn't finished and the promised DMAS is still on its way. Speaking of which, "the Phantom journey" would probably include a navy version (If ever). And now we have a glimps of B(U) which looks more finished than Typhoon. At least we've already seen the cockpit. It'll be wild that Typhoon drops anytime soon. 2026 seems impossible unless miracle. Even if so, Heatblur still has its plate full for a decade.
  8. According to -1 and -34, all F-15C/D's have the ability to use Fast Pack. Also MER and Mk80 series, CBU are all certified by the manual too. At last it all comes down to development choice. All the requests are realistic, but are not planned. DCS is just a game, probably featuring the most common things but not minor oddies. I do want them anyways, considering the Eagle probably charges 80 dollars.
  9. Consider it a good reason to reject most of the requests. However if they did stick to their variant philosophy, our export Mig must lose ER, ET. The rules are flexible.
  10. It appears having or not having real world reference doesn't change much in DCS. Just say, FW190A8's ata, and the AG capability of F-15C as is confirmed by T.O. 1F-15A-1 and -34, and the accuracy problem of M61 gun, the ability to partially load 9A4172, and the list goes on. I do hope you guys have better luck though.
  11. I totally agree with you, sometimes it's just vram bottlenecking a 8k vr capable gpu to 4k. What I mean is Nv did it intentionally so that we have to buy over-priced better cards to just get the vram needed. Main reason I puke at 50 series too.
  12. It's like Apple selling a 256gb laptop. We just need the vram but nothing else? Then Nv just doesn't offer enough and make us purchase uptier overpriced cards we don't need.
  13. Was it the vid Eagle flying over Nevada? Definitely need a remake!
  14. There is some detail in the original ost too. This radio footage in in there, "Anybody in burners?". That radio comes from an actual F-15C vs Mig-25 fight. How cool is that!
  15. As the title suggests. The original ost for old Flaming Cliffs F-15C is one of the best in DCS, along with that of the Su-27. It really give the impression of being the top, and the muscular menancing feeling just suits this legendary fighter so well.
  16. I personally don't bother the AG ability loss, but their decision to ditch the AG mode worries me. It's not just a button or page on MFD, but is supported by many systems, including the most-likely-to-get Apg63v1 I hope they change mind too, since Mapping mode is pretty crucial for an All weather jet fighter.
  17. Finally phasing out. Age wise deploying an F-15C today equals deploying P-51 during Desert Storm.
  18. Hardwares are basically identical to what we have now in the FC version.
  19. Maybe there's a way to do it cheaply, that server owner & campaign builder force link-16 switch off, force nvg so no jhmcs, ban 9x and 120, then we are probably fine. reflected did this in his F-4 campaign. I just hope it's equally possible for F-15c
  20. Cutting out AG ability probably means also cutting out the radar ground mode. So if we don't do AG but want to navigate in bad weather, we can't.
  21. Why does ED persist on cutting out the AG ability of the C eagle? I get it that USAF never allowed that in their doctrine, but that's a built-in feature. I seldom do AG even in multi-role jets like F-16C so it doesn't bother me, but as a full fidelity module it should get what it has.
  22. How is the most crucial thing, sensor system, electronicwarfare, datalink possible to implement? Speaking of weaponnary then it's close to F-16 but that obviously doesn't make up a Gen 5
  23. Win!
  24. definitely, and this
  25. The easiest way to fix would be painting it darker like the rest of the cockpit. Then it will be less noticible.
