That was the one where public health officials went "phew, we dodged a bullet that time, we better get prepared because next time we might not be so lucky" All joking aside, if you can't see the difference between where the world got to with swine flu and the POtuS standing up and saying "If I can keep deaths to around 100,000 over the next few weeks, I'll give myself 10/10", & somehow feel this is all a media beat-up, you need to change your information sources. We'll skip over the bit where you suggest that old people should be allowed to die to protect the economy (How old are you ? That's a very generous offer you're making if you're over 60) There will be a recession. 10,000,000 filed for unemployment in the US in the last 2 weeks. This week will be worse, and next week worse than that. I don't know how many businesses will go under, but it will be a lot. Even if the US somehow managed to stop the business failures and get everybody back to work in a fortnight, the rest of the world isn't going to be, and the supply lines for US industry and retail often trace back fairly quickly to something coming in from overseas. No inputs, no outputs... The 1% don't care - only this morning there was someone on the TV saying this is a great time to buy in the stock market for the long haul, because values are down but will recover in a couple of years so there's some great bargains to be had. Economic collapses are great for those with enough resources behind them to take advantage of the troubles others find themselves in. It's what happens to the other 99% that we have to worry about, and for us it's not a question of 'Is there going to be a recession ?' the question is, 'How are we going to deal with the recession?' Will we come together, or let the people that profit off our misfortunes goad us into tearing each other apart ?

I agree with your sentiment, & I hope for and wish everyone on the forum regardless of race, religion, country of origin or political affiliation, their families, friends and their country-folk, the best outcome possible, but the reality is that how this turns out will be largely about how politicians deal with it, not the intensity of people's prayers, good wishes, or the advice of scientists. The last time the world's economy tanked like this Fascism and WWII grew out of the dislocation and anger that the political solutions to the WWI and the great depression generated. What's that saying ? "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men should do nothing." If we don't learn from the lessons of the past, we will be destined to repeat its mistakes. You can swap out the groups for whoever is locally appropriate, but remember the sentiment of:

That could just be because it's a pre-organised meeting where the same authority is in charge of the configuration of all the aircraft, and the ground crew make sure it doesn't ? Or because where they set more than 1 aircraft to the same configuration, and they do see this happen, they expect it to & so there's no point in reporting it... Or any number of other explanations that aren't 'someone made it up'.

Dude, As others have noted, you seem to have quoted me without reading what I said. I don't blame Trump for the Pandemic. I blame him for letting his greed and ego drive him to take a hugely important job that he's obviously incapable of doing. I blame him for delaying the US's response to a global pandemic because he thought propping up the stock market's confidence would improve his re-election chances, and to him was more important than saving American lives. Surely even his most ardent supporters must have noticed that while the disease was spreading like deadly wildfire overseas, he was saying that US numbers were going down, that it was no worse than the flu, and that it would disappear like a miracle by Spring ? It is obvious to the rest of the world that he has mismanaged every aspect of the US's response, and even from the other side of the world, the 10's of thousands - it may yet be hundreds of thousands - of needless American deaths is a tragedy no-one should ignore. His callous attempts to score political points by trying to imply that somehow if only he'd been allowed to build his non-sensical wall or somehow keep 'foreigners' out everything might somehow have been different is as ridiculous as his current claim that if he can keep US deaths down to somewhere around 100,000, he'll have done a 10/10 job. It's classic Trumpian 'blame someone else'ism. Who could have seen it coming if a highly stable genius couldn't ? Maybe his predecessor, who set up a department to respond to pandemics, only to have Trump disband it because it had been set up by Obama, and the man wrecks anything with Obama's name like a jealous stepchild wrecking their stepbrothers toys. I am angry at his stupidity, but more I am sad at the damage he does, and the lives he will waste.

Relieving him of his command because he put his crews' lives above towing the political line that all is well with the Covid-19 response is just despicable.

Hi BIGNEWY, When you say to me it's a fairly ambiguous phrase without some rational for feeling happy with it. It could mean that "We are happy with our implementation currently" because we believe it to be accurate... ...or it could mean that "We are happy with our implementation currently" because while we know it is inaccurate, we feel that the difference between this representation and reality is irrelevant to the SIM ...or it could mean that "We are happy with our implementation currently" because while we know it is inaccurate & has a significant impact on gameplay, we feel that fixing the representation would be too difficult to justify the time, effort and money needed to modify a change we made with all the goodwill in the world. ...or it could mean "We are happy with our implementation currently" because having it like this makes the DCS.Blue fighters much easier for casual users to fly successful sorties with and so enjoy their purchases & therefore more likely to make future purchases of DCS.NATO aircraft. I have little doubt it's the first, & assume that pilots are explicitly told that the radar is only stabilised to +/- 120 degrees because after that point there is a degradation in performance (otherwise, you wouldn't want them worrying their crowded brains keeping tabs on roll angle during an engagement), but the binary implementation seems a bit unlikely. To avoid confusion, could you be a bit more expansive about why E.D. are happy ?

Lots of us ... :) The stable version runs well enough for most people to be able to enjoy playing it most of the time if you allow for what does work, & don't let the bile build up in your throat about what doesn't (for that matter, so does the OB).

It's a self fulfilling prophesy - if they only make full DCS modules of blue fighters, then of course the blue fighters sell better. Maybe they got their fingers burned with the L-39, but really - who in the West has heard of the L-39 except aviation nuts ? Yes, high profile aircraft sell better - so model some Red high profile aircraft - Everyone in the West knows what an Su-27 or MiG-29 is.

Or, as others have suggested, we could give to the Ka-50 features that the Ka-50 had, and leave the features of the Ka-27, Ka-28, Ka-29 & Ka-52 for modules of the Ka-27, Ka-28, Ka-29 & Ka-52

The person you referred to is - after weeks of saying it will disappear in the spring, it's all under control, the numbers are going down, "who would have thought such a thing could happen*, & was earlier in the week saying that if 100,000 people died he'd have done a great, 10/10 job, is now saying that America should brace for a “very, very painful two weeks” & suggesting deaths in the US might reach 240,000. Even that's still fantasy land. The disease has a 2 week incubation period, and most of the country is only playing at self isolation to stop the spread. Cases are going to keep doubling every few days for the next fortnight even if transmission is stopped right now, and it isn't being stopped (& testing per head of population is still woefully low despite the administration importing testing components from Italy). *Who could have known ? The previous president ? The one who established a body specifically to deal with pandemics - only to have the current adminitration abollish it. Or the intelligence agencies who were giving disturbing enough briefings that a couple of Republican senators that were briefed ran out & sold their stocks, and warned their contributors to do the same. Or the Republican senators that were briefed about the coming pandemic, and after the briefing ran out & sold their stocks, and warned their contributors to do the same but publically backed the POtuS in his statements that there was nothing to worry about. Pretty much everyone knew that doesn't have the POtuS & / or Fox News as their primary source of infirmation. & now ?
