  2. These files should fix the visible cruise missiles sticking out of the hatches on the Normandie update I posted. Replace files in Navy folder with these, D650_Aquitaine.lua D651_Normandie.lua
  3. A small fix will be posted for the temp Normandie update later. Silly me forgot to hide the MdCN cruise missiles and the tops are poking through the hatches . Thank you daskjdhjsh for spotting that. Please keep in mind these are my "experimental/test files" and many thanks to the Admiral for the orignal mod and allowing these to be shared here.   4. So while the Admiral is getting all the ship fixes sorted he said it'd be ok to share my updated Normandie Frigate files. This update is more than just a fix for the "dancing missiles" and includes both the ASW and AAW variants of the FREMM "Aquitaine" class used by the French Navy. 3 ships and fixed/new missiles have been added. 2 ASW variants are D-650 Aquitaine and D-651 Normandie 2 AAW variants are D-656 Alsace and D-657 Lorraine ASW ships have either 16 Aster 15 (D-650) or 16 Aster 30NT (D-651) SAMs and 16 MdCN Land Attack Cruise missiles (760 nm range) AAW Ships have 16 Aster 30NT and Aster 30 Blk2 SAMs Both versions have 8 Exocet Anti Ship missiles as well. This is a update/patch so you will need the original mod. To install, remove original Normandie mod folder from your saved games folder and back it up. You will need to copy files from it. Copy the new mod folder to saved games. Then you will need to copy 4 files (ship edm files) from the orignal mods "Shapes" folder to the new mod's "Shapes" folder. D651_Normandie.edm D651_Normandie.lods.ship_wake D651_Normandie_collision.edm D651_Normandie (LODS File) Important. If you have any issues/conflict with this update message ME directly. Please to not bother the Admiral about this update or post issues in the thread. I will do my best to help with any issues. Note. Ok I'm happy to present the French Carrier Charles de Gaulle by the Cuesta brothers, Version 3.0 All asset of this mod belong to their original creators/owners; Source code by Cuesta brothers, Admiral189, Currenthill, cao990, Marroux, toan, and I'm sure I'm forgetting others. Thanks for all your work. Known issues (let's get these out of the way) You MUST have Admiral189's Normandie Frigate mod installed. (needed for Aster15 model) While a nice model there are a few issues I can not fix but they are minor. Model only has 2 gun mounts. It should be 8 or 3 depending on year/fit Model has 16 extra VLS tubes. It should be 4x8 cell. Model has 6x8 Minor glitches with rught side VLS hatch animations A few of the static deck crew may get run over by an aircraft. (causes no damage) Take off, taxi and landing script is (always will be) a WIP. Currently only the Rafale tested for ramp start/taxi. (F/A-18 will be added next) Catapult alignment is off for a few planes from certain spawn points. I will work to fix this. A new bug I've never noticed before. Anti ship missiles sometimes pass through the ship while others hit depending on the angle. LSO view is no longer working, I have no idea why Hopefully I did something stupid and changed my key command Wanting to keep the ship as close to "spec" as possible I ran into some issues with the way the model is configured. My initial attempts to remove/disable the extra missile tubes resulted in the hatches defaulting to their open position in game So that ship got a little weapons upgrade that can easily be ignored (in most cases) if total accuracy is your thing. The 16 extra tubes are loaded with the new MdCN land attack cruise missile. This keeps the hatches closed (if not fired) and if you do not give the ship a fire order in ME they should not fire. Note, If the CDG is in a group that is given a "fire at point order" they may fire.   9. Both Aster 15 Mistral are working. Tweaking the guns now. There looks to be minor glitch with one of the taxi routes, but I may just ignore it for now since it's with plan 11 or 12.
  10. I'm getting close. I have the Mistral fitted using the stock ED Mistral edm. The are firing bit not hitting the targets for some reason
  11. I have an older version of MAM install and I'm not having issues with CDG. So researching the CDG and her weapons weapons the current edm I have is not a perfect match. But it's really darn close as the only issues seem to be some extra VLS tubes and one missing 20mm gun turret. The model has 6x8 cell VL tube, 3 per side. Looking at pictures and different sites it should be a total of 4x8 VL tubes, 2 per side. I need to add in the SADRAL Missile Defense System as the model does have those fitted. I just need to sort out what stock missile to use or create a custom MISTRAL SAM and add the code.
  12. So I looked at cao's CDG and he's using different sensor ranges and has added the longer range Aster30 missiles. I'm not sure if this is the correct load out. But I'm also not sure how up to date wikipedia is regarding the CDG current fit. So I'll poke around for other sources and see. As for sensor range there again seems top be some differences in sources and what radar is doing what. Meaning the different radars, suface, air search and missile tracking can have different ranges. I think cao used the tracking radar range for the search radar. where I have a much longer search range. Not my tracking range was to long this worked because the SAM range was limited to the missile itself. I will double check this and reset the tracking range to what cao is using. But keep the longer search radar range as I think the CDG should be able to share that data with other units, maybe. Also this gets very confusing because DCS only seems to allow for 1 time of air search while ships sometime have both 2d and 3d systems But if anyone has a good reference site for the current Charles De Gaulle fit/ missile load out please link it
  13. I'm not sure If I sent cao990 my lua updates for Admiral189's Normandie. I have fixed the SAMs issues caused by the last update. Admiral should have have my files or his own fixes done, but I'm not sure if he posted them. I also added the MdCN naval cruise missile as well but I don't recall if I had the correct model for it.. I'll look that over as well and double check with the Admiral about what he currently have posted
  14. So, I had sent cao990 my "finished" CDG to test. He just sent back something with unknown changes/updates/fixes. Message basically just said "better" Once I look at what he did and retest I will post the CDG stuff.. I also need to check what Hawkeye posted because there are a few different CDG edms out there.
  15. I have working updates for both French carriers with correct radars and weapons (as much as the model allows). They require Admiral189"s "Normandie" frigate because the CDG SAMs use his Aster15 model. I forget what SAMs I did for the Clemenceau because while very nice the edm/model in the version I have does not have the correct SAM launchers fitted. But I will make the CDG lua and runway files available soon and take another look at Clemenceau. I think the edms in the post above are the same that I'm using.
  16. So as far as I know in real life a surface ship can not see another ship 300km away with it's own radar. That's why there are things like the E-2 and helicopters to provide over the horizon target data. No I understand that some ships can fire their own missiles at targets OTH without any support in DCS. This is possible, (I think) because of how some of the missile schemes work or you are firing at an "area" where the missile will then search for a target. I was doing some testing with the stock Harpoon one and it always fired, even after I removed the sensors from the firing ship. When a ship will not fire a long range anti ship missile at a target at the extreme edge of it's max range adding an AWACS will normally allow the ship to fire it's missiles at max range. I'm not sure if the last update has changed this, but like I said. As far as I know a ship would never be able to fire at another ship at 300km away via just it's own radar lock. Unless maybe bouncing radar wave off the upper atmosphere or something.
  17. More than I thought. It turns out ai ekranoplan pilots are crazy. While testing the radar the units failed to fire their anti ship missiles at long range like they were supposed. But as the mission played out much to my surprise they attacked once they got into visual range

  19. I think I got it removing this line seemed to do it. GT_t.WS_t.Type42_SeaDart.moveable = false But I also changed some names, so thanks Crazyeddie for the idea Or, I think it might have been coded without the booster before
  20. I've not set the in game setting slider for "smoke density" to 0 yet but moving it to 1 seemed to have no effect
  21. It was fixed at one point, I'll add it to a mission soon and see how it's flying these days.
  22. No, I was hoping you solved that. But I'll look this weekend. I can't recall if the Sea Dart edm, from the SA module or custom model.
