  1. If you use NVPI and the latest NVIDIA drivers it should automatically apply the latest version of DLSS. No need for DLSS tweaks anymore. Presets J and K come with a noticable impact on performance. I don't think anything has changed. I've certainly not noticed any difference in the last update. It might be worth clearing out your shader files and doing a slow repair.
  2. Oculus Link is more stable for me. Very steady frametimes and smooth fps. With VD the frametimes are more erratic and there is microstutter. This is eliminated when I use an Ethernet cable to the headset but I can no longer get a decent bitrate this way. Overall, link cable is a better experience.
  3. UK version cockpit. Not much space for a crew of three.
  4. Just stick with one place then it's easier to work things out. I prefer to increase the resolution in the oculus app/oculus debug tool rather than in DCS.
  5. This might be related to VRAM. I did a comparison of 60 vs 150k preload and there was about a 1Gb difference. In VR though but probably similar to 4k flat screen.
  6. I reset the arc to default and it works fine now. Thanks for the tip.
  7. Cheers. I'll play with the settings.
  8. Thanks. I see you are using a Varjo headset. Maybe it's a Meta issue. I guess I will stick with the regular neck and back exercises!
  9. Keeping my motivation going by watching this again.
  10. XRNS works but looking backwards is rendered in the peripheral resolution and does not support DFR. All I see when looking over my shoulder (when XRNS is active) is a blurred image.
  11. Good setup. I bought a 5070ti and had it for about 2 weeks then managed to get a 5080 at MSRP. The 5070ti runs very well in VR.
  12. Start with the Oculus Link app and Oculus Debug Tool. It's in the "...Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics" folder. You can adjust lots of settings here. Start with scaling. I would set the resolution slider to x1 in the Link app then use ODT to increase this to about x1.5. This will give you a resolution of about 3312x 3096. A good starting point. What are your PC specs?
  13. Sorry if this has come up before in this thread but it is a long one. XRNS does not work properly with QVFR. When I look over my shoulder I only see the low res part of the image. Is there any workaround for this?
  14. Yes. VR is lifelong learning. Post your settings here if you need any help figuring things out.
  15. Both are good options. They gave similar quality and performance. VD is harder to set up and can be more temperamental (at least for me). Meta link sometimes has issues after updating so always make sure you do not opt in for the public test channel and do manual updates only. My advice is buy a cheap USB cable which needs the requirements for cable link and give it a go. For VD you will need to buy a dedicated router connected directly to your PC via Ethernet.
  16. You should be able to pick up a QP less than that, especially used, depending on where you live. I managed to get a used one (in mint condition) for £300 about 12 months ago. Other users on this forum have been able to get new ones for less than the Q3. It could be worth looking around. Previous generation to your AMD 7800x3d.
  17. Your GPU and RAM will be the bottlenecks. But I would not upgrade the 4070 yet, unless you are already considering it. You can get some good results using Quad Views Foveated Rendering. For a 4070 I think the 5800x3d is enough. Another option is a Quest Pro. The eye tracking makes a massive difference.
  18. Your system should run a Q3 fine but you might benefit from 64Gb RAM. I have recently upgraded from a 5800x3d and 4070. You will need to compromise on settings but it's still a good experience. There is a lot of experience now on this forum to support anyone new to VR.
  19. Are you using DLSS with preset J or K and is your GPU manually overclocked? These settings are more unstable to overclocking.
  20. I play exclusively VR and have had intermittent issues with stuttering for a while. I'm pretty sure mine were due to erratic GPU frametime spikes due to hardware and DCS settings. I recently upgraded from a 4070 to a 5080 and did a range if benchmarks looking at GPU and CPU render times. Even at what appears to be a steady 72 fps some frametimes exceed this and are not always obvious. This causes microstutters. If I carefully control settings so that all frame times are under 13.9 ms then I don't get any stutter.
  21. I just use this to toggle core parking on/off. I no longer have stuttering but I don't think this was my cause of stuttering. I still keep the core parking off anyway.
  22. I use this app. https://bitsum.com/parkcontrol/
  23. Just tried this. It looks great.
  24. You could try increasing the resolution. If you are using QVFR just try pushing this up high. I set the foveated region at the equivalent of 4600 pixels. As the region is only 0.25x0.25 it only has minimal impact and I hardly see any ghosting.
  25. It depends on how much you want to spend. Probably the best deal at the moment is the Rx 9070xt if you can get one at MSRP. The performance is close to a 5070ti. The downside is no DLSS. If you would prefer a less expensive GPU then wait until the rx9060 and rtx5060 series are released. Or look into the used market. An rtx 4070 or rx 7800xt.
