  1. Yes. QVFR works well. There is a setup guide on the GitHub site.
  2. To expand on what LucShep said, VR is not plug and play and takes a lot of time and effort to get good results. Out of the box, and without any previous experience with VR, the results of any headset can be underwhelming. That said, if you don't get on with the comfort factor and "scuba dive" experience, then it's probably not worth taking further at the moment. It won't be long before we have much smaller form factor headsets at a reasonable price. By then hopefully they will be a lot easier to use.
  3. Screen door is really obvious on the Rift S but I don't notice it on my Quest Pro. Weirdly I did on the Pico 4 even though it's higher resolution.
  4. It's still the same. Just slightly wetter due to global warming.
  5. I think it is "motion smoothing" but I don't have any experience with Varjo. It's a process for dropping the frame rate by half and "adding" extra frames.
  6. Sorry. I thought you had a quest 3. ASW is the oculus reprojection. Do you have the Varjo equivalent of reprojection enabled?
  7. Have you disabled ASW? What are your GPU frametimes? I would suggest using 72Hz refresh as this is less demanding. You get a smooth experience with up to 13.8ms. with 90Hz you need to maintain 11.1ms. I might be worth seeing what your performance is like without any Antialiasing to see if something else has changed on your system/settings that you are not aware of.
  8. Typhoon fly past at RAF Coningsby for the funeral of Squadron Leader Mark Long last June who was killed whilst flying a Battle of Britain memorial Spitfire.
  9. NVIDIA profile inspector. The latest version allows to to select "always use latest" for DLSS. You only need to reset this after an NVIDIA driver update.
  10. Have you tried using Quad Views Foveated Rendering in fixed mode? https://github.com/mbucchia/Quad-Views-Foveated Also try using Virtual Desktop instead of Steam? It uses less VRAM.
  11. If you use NVPI and the latest NVIDIA drivers it should automatically apply the latest version of DLSS. No need for DLSS tweaks anymore. Presets J and K come with a noticable impact on performance. I don't think anything has changed. I've certainly not noticed any difference in the last update. It might be worth clearing out your shader files and doing a slow repair.
  12. Oculus Link is more stable for me. Very steady frametimes and smooth fps. With VD the frametimes are more erratic and there is microstutter. This is eliminated when I use an Ethernet cable to the headset but I can no longer get a decent bitrate this way. Overall, link cable is a better experience.
  13. UK version cockpit. Not much space for a crew of three.
  14. Just stick with one place then it's easier to work things out. I prefer to increase the resolution in the oculus app/oculus debug tool rather than in DCS.
  15. This might be related to VRAM. I did a comparison of 60 vs 150k preload and there was about a 1Gb difference. In VR though but probably similar to 4k flat screen.
  16. I reset the arc to default and it works fine now. Thanks for the tip.
  17. Cheers. I'll play with the settings.
  18. Thanks. I see you are using a Varjo headset. Maybe it's a Meta issue. I guess I will stick with the regular neck and back exercises!
  19. Keeping my motivation going by watching this again.
  20. XRNS works but looking backwards is rendered in the peripheral resolution and does not support DFR. All I see when looking over my shoulder (when XRNS is active) is a blurred image.
  21. Good setup. I bought a 5070ti and had it for about 2 weeks then managed to get a 5080 at MSRP. The 5070ti runs very well in VR.
  22. Start with the Oculus Link app and Oculus Debug Tool. It's in the "...Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics" folder. You can adjust lots of settings here. Start with scaling. I would set the resolution slider to x1 in the Link app then use ODT to increase this to about x1.5. This will give you a resolution of about 3312x 3096. A good starting point. What are your PC specs?
  23. Sorry if this has come up before in this thread but it is a long one. XRNS does not work properly with QVFR. When I look over my shoulder I only see the low res part of the image. Is there any workaround for this?
  24. Yes. VR is lifelong learning. Post your settings here if you need any help figuring things out.
  25. Both are good options. They gave similar quality and performance. VD is harder to set up and can be more temperamental (at least for me). Meta link sometimes has issues after updating so always make sure you do not opt in for the public test channel and do manual updates only. My advice is buy a cheap USB cable which needs the requirements for cable link and give it a go. For VD you will need to buy a dedicated router connected directly to your PC via Ethernet.
