Black Fri - Amazon - Crucial T705 - £189
Wostg replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I thought you guys were riffing on the bit about needing to see wear tests before you'd consider touching them, per the moza ffb thread. We need to see loadtimes after a week at persistent 100°C! -
Could you firmware-set the axes to button in the VPC software first? (no I don't understand how any of that works, thank you for asking)
-
glad the first part was simple...thats weird though. i know in mine the numbers sap shows are totally different to windows but makes no difference in the layout. try making sure theyre all set to extend, (inc main didplay) un / reinstalling sap, rebooting and working through the config steps again?
-
Quick guess - in windows display settings, is the one that shows set to "duplicate" when it should be set to "extend"?
-
Do the error marks give any mouseover hints?
-
Its very weird. Have you tried the ticket system with Winwing? Occassionally there are language issues but they can be very helpful and will probably schedule a video call with an engineer to work through it. [not directed at you at all but I wish there was a better accepted way of distinguishing the words for the monitors from the button frames cos I often get confused as to which people are referring to when problem solving their mfds]
-
have you tried the monitors and displaylink drivers on another pc?
-
You don't have the option in Windows display settings to change from "show only on 1" to "extend these displays"? or in displaylink manager to change from disconnected to extend/duplicate? Are they connected to a powered hub?
-
I'm pretty sure Helios / dcs bios can do it for exporting data (check out the amazing Warthog Project) but it might not be possible for the WW Ufc which is tied to SimAppPro. Definitely check on their discord etc for more expert advice though, I hope you can get it sorted and hope I haven't steered you wrong / can be proven wrong! E:see https://github.com/DCS-Skunkworks/dcs-bios/issues/413 Ee: I was going to link you to other things but I saw you were already in there re editing all the various lua files, definitely get into that
-
The screens can be exported.. You can configure them to be displayed in your main window if you like. (winwing turns your main monitor and the displays into one massive monitor and puts the displays into the right places, ie within your mfds). The ufc, steam gauges and other widgets are different however and can't be exported when they aren't on screen unfortunately. e: if its any consolation check this out for using the ufc in other modules:
-
Pretty sure this is a dcs-wide issue not a winwing one. Except for a few universal variables outside of the fa18 specifics, exported data can only repeat what's presently on screen. This affects the mip, Helios, and other programmes.
-
I hope you get your shirts soon
-
I have a Winwing MIP which takes up 7 (!) usbs for the mfds and ufc, plugged into one powered Anker USB 60w 10x hub (7 data + 3 unused power-only) that keeps all the cables tidy and hidden behind, keeping one USB3 port on the pc occupied. I have another Sabrent 90w 16x powered hub for hotas, collective and rudder, plus I think mouse/kb abd bluetooth maybe? with a few shameful free spots remaining. They don't have any usb-c ports, but I can say that all the usb mfd screens etc are perfectly happy.
-
You mean binding them as open and closed? For the other control panels you assign them their number ie flip it to select btn_234 then select that number and change from the selection window to btn_234_off. Hope that makes sense/what you're after.

Awesome thanks

What would be the easiest way to show the streamdeck interface tidily in vr? Doesn't really have to be clickable just show what's on the buttons

F15 StrikeAce E / StrikeAce EX | HOTAS | Throttle Grip TWINSHOCK
Wostg replied to SebastianR's topic in Winwing
"For players who hold on to the belief that I only love one thing even though there are thousands of good ones" For all their ups and downs I kind of love these guys -
Had it just a little while now. Initial thoughts are * it does what it says on the tin and that's neat * definitely recommend the mount extension because it's very long * it does feel light and plasticy which is a bummer compared to everything else vpc, but appreciate it may have been that or too much cost or possibly weight. As mentioned elsewhere the buttons are a bit light and wiggly too * I don't need all this buttons - there's a few that I'll never use like the cutout that don't lend themselves intuitively to rebinding, like say the throttle widget on the ka50 grip. Kind of wish they'd been sacrificed for some more generic things, but I accept that you'd lose fidelity which is the whole point. So yeah I like it but I'd say maybe check out the others if you're not Apache-dedicated otherwise it's got everything you could ask for.

sudden angry flashbacks about why various bits of brand and nonbrand kit all use different spacing for their holes none of which match any useful baseline like eg a small vesa monitor mount

Advise on Sim Seat
Wostg replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Got it, starting to put it together. Seat is pretty comfy and I've committed some kind of crime against common sense and the good people at Virpil trying to get the collective mount to fit on, but it might even hold... -
I think this might be a DCS limitation - as I understand it, if your vertical velocity indicator or whatever is not "on screen" then it doesn't export. Hope I'm wrong cos it it would be great if it did though!

Have taken the plunge. Hard to see in that pic but ebay store has assured me there is a central flights tick mount as well as central steering wheel/panel etc mount. (I can see it in the competing ebay sellers but wasn't clear it was included from these guys). Good comms which is encouraging. -

Same, been looking at Dardoo Flight Sim Cockpit with Black Seat Fit HOTAS Warthog T150 Logitech X56 | eBay which seems to be the only thing out there before you get to the more expensive Monster/NLR stuff. Seems to have the middle column and potentially may creatively fit panels / MIP on there. Can't see anything in the way of reviews so any thoughts appreciated! e: Center flightstick might need to be creatively mounted but the two bars look like they might be a solid base for a massive ffb...
