Hud Heading Diamond Symbol Doesn't Recenter After Trimming
Wostg replied to honeycool75's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
... I assumed I had just forgotten how to set the pvi-800 etc correctly. I'll need to go over it properly but encouraging to know its not just me I guess -
I took the buttons off one of them to use as a full rectangular map on the KA50 for a bit - I had thought that just editing the height in that lua worked - although simappro will try and revert it if you open it up I guess.

Are you telling me you don't do the five finger checks to the crew chief and programme in your take off speeds? Are you telling me I did this 75 minute tutorial for nothing???

VPC Rotor TCS base with AH-64D grip keeps getting dropped by Windows.
Wostg replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in VIRPIL Controls
I have the non-twisty rotor base with the ka50 grip, and it occassionally drops power or goes a bit odd until I pull the plug behind it in and out. I have both plugs (it is the one with the red extra usb right) in a powered hub, and have spent a long time making sure there's no twists or squeezes in the cables. So guessing its either a power supply thing or a design issue, but who knows. Assuming red is power supply I might try extending the black cable into the back of the pc directly and see if that solves whatever conflict may be happeneing. -
foam tape or plumbers rubber tape - the stuff you have to scrape off the surface once it settles

What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
Wostg replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
One thing I think the F16 did best that I wish others copied, is have the full-blown training mission with the (sometimes too drawn-out) voiceovers, but then also replicates the same scenario as a mission, so you can skip the 5 minutes setup if you know more or less what to do and just want to practice your VFR landing or whatever- 591 replies

Hi just to add that I think the AI HUD is doing similar things as the ODU, was also running DLSS. Cheers!

I love flying this at night. Tempted to run the whole training regime this way if the files will let me.

Early Release of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior Manual
Wostg replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
^^ looking forward to your take on tutorials and missions -
There are some universal commands, like LoGetAltitudeAboveGroundLevel(), LoGetAltitudeAboveSeaLevel(), LoGetAngleOfAttack() - I think the bottom-bar that displays values in external/map? views draw from these. They're not 100% accurate to the module at hand - like the Barometric sea level one dosn't account for QFE, but can be easier to apply than whatever crazy scale any given gauge in a cockpit follows. (No idea if they work in dcs-exportscripts specifically, but I assume they would?)

I am guessing the contents of "\Users\SrSosio\Saved Games\DCS\Config\MonitorSetup\Helios.lua" will either have Apache details twice, but DCS will only show the CPG if it's at the top, as created second maybe. Or maybe it won't show the PLT at all, if they were overwritten when the CPG was created afterwards. I deleted my old profile for the apache so can't share, but what I did was make only one profile and lay the plt and cpg left and right displays over each other. the idea being that the active one would turn on and the inactive one would blank out, depending on seat. I think there were problems for ..reasons but worth a try? Definitely do make sure the resolutions are correct, inside DCS, either way.

...If I understand you correctly, you want monitor 4 to be freed up when you're playing pilot-only (for movies or browsing or whatever) Not an expert, but I am not sure if that would work, with 2 competing apache configurations in your helios-created monitorscfg? Keen to see the outcome. But for now, in Helios, is your "DCS Monitor Setup" does it say "Monitor setup files are up to date" for each profile? (bottom of this tab) Is your in-game DCS configuration set to the helios profile, and does your resolution match that the "DCS Monitor Profile" tab's resolution? I think you would need to change it every time you intended to play CPG and then for PLT to make use of the unused monitor for movies. So the width would need to be e.g. 1920 width for just the main monitor but 2944 (1920+1024) width x vertical pixels when you are playing the CPG seat, to encompass monitor 4.

Universal UFC| Works with all modules | Simple Install
Wostg replied to prestonflying's topic in Winwing
Right click on the start menu / shortcut and open file location (or if it brings up the shortcut, right click on that file) First time I got annoyed with it I dragged the folder into my quick access links, then when I got sick of it looking messy I uninstalled SAP and reinstalled it into my main games folder to find more easily -
Not until the Australia map at least

try reordering where everything sits in C:\Users\Chicki\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua, commenting out anything you don't need mine is currently something like -- 1 Winwing efdfs -- 2 DCS -exportscripts fdsfd --3 dcs bios -- ewrwerw (currently out of use) --4 helios defewrwe -
Yeah they acknowledged that it might feel 'on rails' for the benefit of single players in the cpg seat vs all the hassles George brings, but also stated that they'd allow this to be turned off in mission/mp settings etc for those with objections

I have tried unsuccessfully to entice Winwing to enable this for other modules, the help ticket staff tried to be helpful but we ended talking around in circles, that it was not a bug but a feature request. They are usually actually pretty good and have introduced some quick fixes when bugs were raised, but not this time. So basically they need a way to activate different DCS 'argument' numbers based on module, which are never the same. I think the F18 big red gear light corresponds to "left generator off" in the F4, for example - same number, different module. So please do ask Winwing about a custom argument system, maybe someone else will get through

Having a play while I figure out what matters, or a good pilot tells me - Main comm channel, Pitch angle, AOA, TACAN, IAS, BALT/RALT, Bearing, Fuel, Flares/Chaff ufcPatchPHANTOM.lua ufcPatch.lua -
I remember export for the f-15e had to be 'switched on' by the devs, it happened in the first or second patch about a week after release

Well done you guys For anyone super keen who's going to publish their ultimate streamdeck profiles, please have mind to a 6x3 version - even if it's just dumping everything in folders for others to sort out while you complete your XL masterpiece. Thanks! (looking fwd to trying the profile above)
