MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle - use shift state for (mode encoder) dials?
Nightdare replied to jetsimace's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Hm, I do notice you don't set Shift 1 while setting Shift 2 functions, this might be a reason If things go wonky again, try to assign a shift# at all times (So if you have a button under shift 2, all others should have shift 1 checked), see if that solves any issues, it could be setting shift off while there are other shift states used, it does not see non-state (Shift Off) buttons -
MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle - use shift state for (mode encoder) dials?
Nightdare replied to jetsimace's topic in VIRPIL Controls
I have the V1 Mongoost, but it works with the same software First off: what happens if you uncheck the "Turbo/Delay" option? This is my setup: Profile page: Button Page: null S1 Same settings for Physical 065 - Disregard 053, that's the push function S2 In VPC Joystick tester, this results in this: -
MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle - use shift state for (mode encoder) dials?

Yes, encoders are basically buttons as well make a new logic button # under the same physical (encoder) button and assign it to SHFT2 (Don't forget to set the 5-way to shift function) -
If Money is no object then you probably would buy this Novasim.
Nightdare replied to rapid's topic in Input Devices
That cheap thing? It can't even do loopings or barrel rolls If money was no object, I'd certainly have a full range motion rig -
Are the Orion2 HOTAS mounting points the same as the TM Warthog?
Nightdare replied to The_Chugster's topic in Winwing
If it did have the F-15 grip,... but it's the F-18 grip -
You're trying very hard to discredit someone while the photo's show no proof of what you are suggesting A side mount? look at that picture, that's not a clamp for a side mount (Doesn't even show any capability for the base to be mounted sideways) And then there is your problem of him 'using a wrong stick', because you are sure Moza gave him a stick or suggested using a different one? So he's supposed to be 'pro' enough to jury-rig his own simpit on the fly to incorporate a ground mount FFB base or side mount a desk mount, but he can't use different grips, because apparently real pro's never do that? Please stop moving the goalposts You prove to me this base is only for the DIY Simpit building crowd and I'll stop defending a basic consumer's PoV on this product

AFAIK there is still the separate ST/MT startup files

Computer spec recommendation please.
Nightdare replied to Lee1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'd think most would advise 7800x3d, 64gb, 2tb NVME, with the highest GPU you can afford I'd add the comforts of as many fast USB ports on the MB as possible to that and Wifi 6+ -
@Mr_sukebe The gist I get from Spudknocker's 'review', the setup as Moza has presented it, is mechanically too flawed to give a good review (I'd say not being able to utilize the sticks entire deflection is akin to reviewing a car in a parking space) and needs to be reworked and not so much a "RTFM" issue

Is increasing RAM from 32GB to 64GB a smart idea?
Nightdare replied to Ahdidaas's topic in Virtual Reality
I've had 32 gigs RAM and was using a total of 56 gigs when running DCS (8-9gb was used by system so about 15gb came sourced from the pagefile), so how did you come to the conclusion DCS doesn't use more than 32Gb of memory? With my 3060ti, this had stuttering, shifted pagefile to an SSD, this improved, but upgraded to 64 and this issue was gone I think you can agree a 3080ti is not a lower performing card than a 3060ti? -
I agree, and contrary to what may appear, I also do not think an FFB setup can work clamped to a desk, unless with a very unwieldy solid/heavy anchored mount (And that's not taking the people's average quality of desk into account) This worked somewhat with the original Oculus CV's but that was experimental tech, not a 25 year old product type, and its versions were moderately wel executed Setting bad blood might get your product killed pretty quickly "Just let the fools part with their money"-attitude is one such way It'd be a bit like ED putting up a half baked module, then release the same -but finished- module later, which you buy separately

Are the Orion2 HOTAS mounting points the same as the TM Warthog?
Nightdare replied to The_Chugster's topic in Winwing
Uhm, check again, because he's right (I also had to do a double take) Available Item Orion2 HOTAS Metal Warthog So, Winwing IS selling the(ir version of the) Warthog -
Good job, the Moza FFB marketing is now dead in the water This product is only for those with dedicated simpits and can only be reviewed by guys that are able to reconfigure their existing rig to mount this up I got a great sales slogan: "Amateurs need not apply, only for Elite simmers" (And since we'll never get our investment back with that little marketshare, forget about a desktop version)

Not stock, that is what the finger lift kit is for -
Are the Orion2 HOTAS mounting points the same as the TM Warthog?
Nightdare replied to The_Chugster's topic in Winwing
First off, WW are morons for calling it that since it's the F16 stick with F18 grips, their (bad) redesign of the site apparently kinda threw both me and @MustangSally off, so, sorry about that your link has the cheapest stick, no shaker, the cheapest grips and is missing the finger lift kit -
Are the Orion2 HOTAS mounting points the same as the TM Warthog?
Nightdare replied to The_Chugster's topic in Winwing
I don't see a Warthog throttle on the WW site -excluding the F-16 single engine setup- just the orion2 with either F-18 and F-15 throttle grips (and F-18 or F-16 stick) -
Are the Orion2 HOTAS mounting points the same as the TM Warthog?
Nightdare replied to The_Chugster's topic in Winwing
They aren't the same, Warthog is 1990's tech at 2024 price (and with a lot less switches and dials) -
Company called Flitesim is joining the FFB free for all.
Nightdare replied to rapid's topic in Input Devices
...yeah, about that -
If this is how Moza wants to sell this setup, then I'm glad someone did a "Hold up a minute!" Spudknocker isn't doing anyone a disservice by giving a heads up that Moza's mounting solution sucks, I think this quick preliminary actually has lots of good info (though none we'd like to hear) So no, he didn't mention this should probably be used with an extension (if the motors can actually handle that), but that's also not mentioned anywhere in the marketing and deskmounting isn't the best idea for an FFB base period, but hey, it's -as stated- a quick review Why am I suspecting people here are too emotionally invested for this to succeed, they'll go as far as vilifying a reviewer that is factually right in his criticism?
-
...Which most of us are OR he put the Virpil mount next to the Moza (which IS in the correct position) to quickly compare the 2? Just a hunch, or do you also mount 2 sticks next to each other for better flying? That he isn't able to reach his pedals may be because the base is too wide when having it in your crotch @Hiob 's observation is on point, but is simply ignoring that the desk and deskmount don't allow for that, if the 'average simmer' wants to incorprate this, he might be screwed and it's a good thing Spudknockerpointed this out and AFAIK, it's easier to change a deskmount than a desk Are we not looking at the same picture? The Moza stick IS mounted higher than the Virpil (by at least an inch, maybe even two), which could make all the difference in being able to rest your hand or not
-
I'm with @Cab on this one, kindly point out what he's doing wrong instead of making it out as if FFB is only supposed to be for the Elite Simmers among us He's using the means Monza has given him and they are not correct, they aren't incorrectly assembled, they are by design incorrect If Moza wants to reach an as large as possible market, they are also gonna have to be able to sell this to people below "dedicated simpit builders"
-
I don't get it, he warns people not to jump in just yet (or in the very least shows some shortcomings when 'amateurs' try to incorporate this in their setup) ...and this is somehow wrong?

Testpilot: "What is this lever: 'Chassis'?" Engineer: "That's for the undercarriage" Testpilot: "Well, why doesn't it say 'Undercarriage' then?" Engineer: "....Uhhhmmmm"
