  1. You understood correctly, thanks.
  2. That’s pretty much what I did for the f-16, which works well. But the f-16 definition does not work for the t-45. I’m assuming that’s partly because the t-45 does not call them MFCD, but I’m also not sure if I can define different mfd types in the same lua for the same display setup.
  3. Hi guys, I’m pretty sure this has been addressed in this thread or elsewhere on the forum, but I cannot find the solution: I’m trying to export the MFDs of the T-45 to my cougar displays. Where can I find some clear instructions to do so? I’m pretty sure this has been done, but like I said, I can’t find the information. I managed to do this easy enough for the f-16. Was hoping it’s equally easy for the t-45.
  4. That looks very slick! I think I found the type on Amazon. How do you secure the rotaries to the instrument bezel?
  5. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has attempted to modify the winwing f-16 throttle quadrant before? I’m contemplating 2 mods: 1) change the “man rng” control, which currently is a barely usable rotary knob combined with an (in my case) unused mini joystick, and convert it into a clickable rotary to resemble the real throttle. Reason for this is that the man rng control is not very usable in the current implementation, unlike the real one and the new TM version. 2) change some of the base control covers, so I can use it more flexibly for different applications, using custom panel labels. The base covers appear to be removable, so by printing some new custom versions, that could be interesting. Has anyone attempted that before?
  6. Is this still active? I’m looking for analog gauges for my viper pit.
  7. The “fake” CE clarification is in fact a China Export label. Yes they look very much alike, which is misleading, but it’s not a fake CE verification label. Correct. The equipment is ITAR classified, which means it’s sale is controlled by export laws that intent to mitigate the use of technology that can be used for military applications by terrorist organisations or hostile nations. in addition, since we are talking about genuine support equipment (versus commercial hobbyist equipment), the prices and associated quality will be significantly higher, making hobbyists of no interest to them. This is a shame really, because of the sale does not violate itar restrictions, they lose out on a market. My guess is that such companies don’t want to deal with the level of customer support demands that consumers typically want/expect.
  8. I’ll do that. I know with commercial airlines the ap automatically disconnects when it registers commanded deflection of flight controls beyond a specific range, and I assume the same applies to fighter jets. soo I’m a little surprised that I cannot good ap for attitude or altitude and still do turns manually. tonight I’ll do another test run and post the track here
  9. Does anyone know where I can find korry style backlit push buttons for use on an f-16 panel?
  10. Yeah I think I need to learn how to tune my profile properly. interestingly, surgery on discord I read someone saying that with Opentrack you don’t need aitrack. I haven’t managed to get Opentrack to work without it though.
  11. The new panel is indicated as pre-order on the eu store.
  12. Thanks, I’ll check that. i think my problem is finding the controls for whot bhot and tv on the mfd. autopilot wise, I couldn’t find the panel, but I recalled setting the commands on my throttle console. I only set the att/alt hold switches. If there is a separate engage/disengage button or switch, then I need to set that up.
  13. Hey guys, I’m new at the mission editor, and looking for a quick solution (as opposed to learning the editor for the next 6 months). I want to put together a mission where I can practise formation flying, using a firgure 8 patter flight path. Basically I like to use a single AI aircraft that flies a “figure 8” style orbit around 2 waypoint. This allows me to practise some straight and level formation flights, as well practise different direction turns. I’ve not yet tried creating a pattern with many waypoints (I’d like to avoid that if I can). I’m also aware of some of the existing formation trainers, but those don’t let me do what I want using an A-29B. Any suggestions?
  14. Hi guys, I’m struggling using the maverick. The mission says I should change to some specific IR mode soo I can find the sa-13 easier. Of course it doesn’t tell you how to set that, so as a result I cannot find the relevant targets. any idea how to set these hidden features, soo I can spot the da-13’s? Also, is the autopilot of the f-16 dysfunctional? The mission instructs me to switch off the autopilot, then turn, and when on course, switch it to altitude hold. i assigned the ap buttons to my throttle visible and I can see the switches move in the cockpit, but the ap does not engage. Any reason why that might be?
  15. I think Gorton Condensed is the right font type to use for panels (I found another discussion about MS33558, which referred to several similar font types, with Gorton Condensed looking correct). I have not been able to find that specific font type for free though (only 50$ options), so if anyone has it, I would welcome the font! For now I use "Rolade Free", but the spacing/compression is just a little off, and the horizontal parts of some letters (specifically "A" or "R"). There is an F16_Panel font floating around, but it is too bold.
  16. Hey guys, I ran into facetracknoir tonight. That is to say, I saw someone use it on YouTube, and it was so much smoother than my opentrack setup. had anyone used facetracknoir before? the clip that made me aware is this one: FaceTrackNoIr can be found here: https://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm
  17. That probably requires some digging into lua files, if it’s even possible. I agree with you though that the fonts in the t-45 (also fit the a-29) are really quite poor. The f-16 is pretty clear! Note that it has nothing to do with winwing or simapppro. The displays used are dumb displays, meaning they just convert a video signal into pixels. As a little knowledge snippet: aircraft can use dumb or smart displays. The former only convert video into pixels, similar to our desktop displays. The latter do lots of processing for graphics generation You can’t. You need to change the resolution of your main monitor in windows as well. Of course you could do it only in the lua, but your main display will show black bars. Note that if you do change your main display resolution, don’t forget to recalculate the positions of all other displays.
  18. Hey guys, I’m seeing all these clips on YouTube, with people sounding like they talk through a distorted radio channnel. I’ve been playing with SRS, but still my voice sounds far too clean for my taste. Does anyone know how to make your voice sound distorted over SRS? FYI, the radio effects are all switched on, including clipping.
  19. Does anyone have suggestions for a low profile rotary that I can use for building into instrument faces like for the HSI, or for caging/uncaging/calibrating standby instruments? I’m asking because I plan to get a display for all the centre pedestal instruments on the f-16. But that means some rotaries need to be mounted above/in front of the displays. So there isn’t much clearance space. Of course I can make the instrument frames thicker, but I want to be able to balance aesthetics with originality and with what can be done. note, I thought about using several very small displays, but I don’t want to use that many separate displays if I can avoid it, mostly because I only have one graphics card, and I already use 3 out of 5 ports
  20. Hi all, I found out about this iPad app called iUFCExport. I’m sure many of you have heard of it and/or are using it. the instructions talk about setting up access ports and allowing the various protocols to talk over the local network. I just wanted to know from others how safe it is to open up those gateways from a cyber security perspective. Call me paranoid, but I’m a little worried that this creates a cyber security risk for my windows pc. I’m not particularly IT savvy, soo I don’t really know how to find out other than ask. It’ it looks like a great first step towards a UFC.
  21. Question: I installed this mod, but it does not show up in the mission or training menu. I do see it in instant action. Does this mean the aircraft does not have missions or trainings associated with it?
  22. Thanks! Your words are Encouraging. I’ll try your suggestions. as a note, I think the f-15 egress support mission is part of the viper package. I think they use migs as targets. I do get warnings, but I’m struggling with the defence, and I would have expected to be able to out perform the migs weapon wise. in fairness, if I recall I focused on one guy who went defensive, whereas the rest of his squadron went after me. It’s probably where tws would have been useful to target and fire upon all of them to make them all defensive (or blow up).
  23. @=617= Evil tried the 1 on 1 bvr about 10 times and failed. I never get the target on my radar, only the empty awacs triangle, so I get shot down before I even get a radar lock, and that’s every time.the only way I get him is by going maddog and release once the A counter starts, but still get shot down by him too. Chaff flare don’t work evade won’t work. I then tried the f-15 egress mission, and that’s pretty much the same. I must be missing something. I make sure I’m at the same altitude whenever I can, I focus the radar (azimuth minimal and bars minimal when at the same altitude, or as required depending on altitude difference), when I’m pointed at the target and on the same altitude, but nothing. i tried without exam, no difference.
  24. Thanks the targets are indeed small and are manoeuvring, as they are engaged by another group of friendlies. I guess I’m still learning about the shortcomings and limitations of radars and their different operating modes. I’ll check out the mission you linked to, thanks!
  25. Hi guys, I’ve been practicing the “king of the hill” mission for the f-16, which is a multiple bogeys and friendlies scenario. I’m struggling with finding and engaging the enemy effectively, and at best get a single kill using a maddog release (without actually following the maddog release process). i also noticed that when I think I’m in TWS mode, I cannot cycle through multiple targets with TMS-R. I have to go to STT to get a target lock. This is obviously a gap in my abilities. I’m still going through the manuals and I saw some tutorials on the aim120. I’ve also done the basic aim120 tutorials that come with the f-16. But obviously that’s not enough. I was wondering if someone knows of tutorials (written, as mission/training, and/or YouTube clips) that teach me the use of the f-16 radar in multiple te target scenario’s.
