  1. This works a treat ! 1. Load the Test Mission Fence test (uses a Mod M92 barrier ) or use the tyres test to get the idea - both attached 2. Turn on the tank icon bottom of mission editor this lets you see ends of the fence pieces and zoom in 3. Very important - turn on multi select tool 4. select a box around the fence pieces 4. press ctrl C 5. click mouse left button near where you want the copy them to 7. press ctrl V 8. click on move 9. move to line up with others. 10. Also click on rotate to change heading (rotation) Just ctrl V and left click for as many copies you need. 11. Very important - turn off the multi select tool or you will be stuck in that mode. 12. now continue as usual. You can even save multiple static and group and trigger zone setups you like in a mission - load it and multi select tool copy - then load your mission then multi select tool paste etc. Can paste to different maps also. have fun ! tyres_Test.miz Fence_Test.miz
  2. Who cares if its 1970s or 1980s it would be same buildings anyway - if you like the steam trains just use them to add some interest. After all for Me its about getting the " DCS Train wheels moving " and being able to enjoy the New Germany Map with the Steam Train mods i have already built. Steam trains were used during the Cold war time period so that suits Me.
  3. A lot of users have passionate memories of the Cold War Steam Trains. Please ED you need to fix the arg8 so the wheels can rotate again. Its a Real Shame to be limited and not use the broken ones on fantastic new maps like this. Please update with a fix and let users have some fun again with the old ww2 class 86. Its Very Sad as I have built exciting mods of german steam locomotives but have to use old Caucasus Map and the DCS old SingleThread Version to even use them. Make it happen please - Since i wrote this there is now an update coming for the arg8 so a massive thankyou for that !
  4. Hi a common problem is - check the name of file FMTV_M1083.edm in the shapes folder is same as the one in your USA_cargo.lua file it may have the under score missing or an extra dot. E.G. FMTV M1083.edm or FMTV_M1083..edm --Shape EDM name ShapeName = "FMTV_M1083",
  5. The Map looks great and It looks like it has an extensive railway network looking at this picture. I am hoping at last ED will fix the "arg 8" it is not working in MT the train wheels and valve gear no longer rotate. Yes ED have now fixed the arg 8 in the April update thankyou ! I am sure users will want to run the German class 86 steam locomotive on this map from the old WW2 addon pack they purchased. Also the trains need the Activation and De-activation sorted out. When they are fixed i have some nice German and British Steam Locomotives and Rolling stock and working DML railway semaphore signalling mods that i will upload.
  6. Hi its time to reveal Another Absolute Time more trigger booby trap ? Take a deep breath ! I just did 4 very simple experiments using the Absolute Time more trigger. Default Caucasus Map and no Mods are used. Note - these .miz files are saved using the original Mission editor Save as method. .miz Files are all attached have fun. - Absolute Time More Trigger 1.miz 1. If you set the mission start time at 8.00am 2. I set a unit ( Car Daimlar Armered ) to late activation "It is "not" set to visable before activation'' 3. Activate unit with an Absolute Time more Trigger at 8.01 am 4. run mission and unit appears at 8.01 am as expected. ------ - Absolute Time More Trigger 2.miz 5. now i changed mission start time to 9.0 am 6. Absolute Time More trigger remains at 8.01 am 7. Run the mission and the unit is activated before mission start time and is working in the game. ------ - Absolute Time More Trigger 3.miz 8. now i clicked on the Absolute time More conditions and the units time defaults to 9.0 am mission start time ( does not reset it to 9.01 am ) 9. Run the mission and unit appears at mission start time 9.0 am it has not added the extra 1 minute you set earlier . ----- - Absolute Time More Trigger 4.miz 10. I changed Absolute time More condition to 9.01 am 11. Run the mission and unit appears at 9.01 am as expected. ----- 12. An interesting thing is it will use the old trigger time you set when you increase the Mission start time - but will not let you type in a time that is before the actual mission start time.   7. After the Hot Fix Update - Absolute Time More and Absolute Time Less are Great now. Input is in Hours : Minutes : Seconds and it auto converts to total seconds. Nice one thanks .
  8. Im sure DCS have already thought about this but - Things could get interesting - 1. Having the DCS Main Game Running. 2. Start a mission and the Huge scenery textures load. 3. Next the High Detail Aircraft and its Hires Textures Load. 4. Start Photoshop 5. Load the 4k templates and start Editing all the layers. 6. Save your textures. 7. Refresh the Aircraft textures in DCS with the Main Game Still Running. 8. Not sure how users computers will handle this. 9. Model viewer update is the answer its features are badly needed.

If you are going to insist on keeping this booby trap on the DCS Menus please read and do this - DCS Needs To Provide Some Working Examples. " Please include a simple Example using a user placed Train " Its not a big ask and it is constructive. More important its the right thing to do. So we need missions before and after the save. I can spend all week alpha testing this thing creating missions and testing them and posting the results. I did that with the Train Problems with MT ages ago and was totally ignored no one even bothered downloading and looking at them. Just fix them please its a sore that never heals otherwise. Please DCS you need To Provide Some Working Examples in this before and after format - Original_Test1.miz and Saved_Test1.miz Original_Test2.miz and Saved_Test2.miz Original_Test3.miz and Saved_Test3.miz Original_Test4.miz and Saved_Test4.miz " Sorry but it is like sitting down to play poker you have to show you have the money first " De-encrypted that sort of means Show us it Works before we invest time and effort alpha testing on your behalf.   10. To be fair - 1. ED should provide some of their short demo missions they tested saved and were happy when restarted. 2. What quality control testing was done ? 3. Maybe we need to lower expectations and just except that they are not capable anymore. 4. Now you shovel this alpha tested mess out. 5. The absolute time more or less triggers used with this are like a DCS Time Encryption system who is going to calculate and enter thousands of seconds. 6. Do your self a favour release an update with the new save option removed. The forum is over flowing with update problems - So i dont think you need any more new save problems to deal with at the moment ! The new save game requests for help will fill the forum up faster than the T_e_m_u $1000 Voucher attacks ! I do not think any of the forum Mods or Helpers will be able to answer any of the questions about the new save game feature either ?
  11. Mission Save State - 1. Create a new mission add some user placed trains and wagons with waypoints. 2. run the mission for a few seconds. ----- The DCS Trains with locked wheels are happily sliding along on the tracks. ----- The Train wheels issue must get fixed soon they look just like toytown wooden safety toys for kids ) ----- Maybe theres hope it will be fixed soon as the New Marianas WW2 and the Germany maps need new DCS trains. 3. Hit escape - save the mission with a new name. 4. quit. 5. load the saved mission. 6. None of the Trains are on the saved map. 7. run the saved mission and no trains. " So its Working exactly as i thought it would " Also the new triggers - Absolute Time More and Absolute Time Less EG - a mission with a start time at 8.30 am and a Time more trigger of 25 seconds. This becomes (8*60*60) + (30*60) + 25 = Absolute Time More of 28,800+1,800+25 = 30,625 seconds WOW its almost like a new kind of DCS Encrypted Time System !   12. I love the oh-6a thankyou. Also Eightball's Fantastic Railway Assets Pack was what inspired me to have a go at a mod. I used it to learn how to get Locomotives Wagons Coaches into DCS - So a big Thankyou to Eightball . Tobi`s Blender EDM Exporter is my go to proven reliable method to create pain free working EDM files for DCS every time. I managed to get the Krupp K5 working as a Train wagon and a Tank in DCS by using the settings in the EDM Exporter. - So thats a Massive Thankyou to Tobi . These 2 items are used loved and enjoyed every day by users all over the world. I live just north of Brisbane in Australia and we have the EYE of CYCLONE ALFRED Visiting us tomorrow from the Coral Sea with 180kph winds 12 metre waves and a metre of rain ! Here is something Eightball and Tobi can do now they have some spare time take up surfing. Nice bit of progress - Theres a very nice Free Download "Low Polygon" USATC S160 by Steve Emfore on Sketchfab - "USATC S160 2-8-0 Steam Locomotive" He also has nine other nice free 3D Locomotives. It was created for the game Transport Fever 2. Should look very good with animated valve gear in DCS with some photo textures from a real loco. I will see what i can do so check back soon !
  15. Thanks that is interesting. Why i asked was because they were shown in that picture here in October 2022 in a thread previewing Normandy 2 Map and its contents. Would be nice to have them added in an update along with making the 3 WWll assets pack Armoured Flak Wagons we paid for years ago usable ? " ------- That last line was encrypted and i could not understand it ? - With the WWII asset pack you will be able place and use the steam locomotives on routes on the Normandy 2 map. Also the steam loco might be included free in the Normandy 2 traffic you can switch on or off in settings . Another thing is the date you set for a mission may decide if steam or Diesel or electric is used.

  20. "Interllectual property" The issue as i see it is ED has unresolved Interllectual property legal matters still pending. Also accusations that Models have been stolen and sold on by pirates. To combat this it looks like Skinning and the new encrypted EDM files are now restricted to authorised ED staff only. Theres no detail so far if its only new or infact all ED modules that will be encrypted ? Is there hope Jim what do you think - Sometimes a feeling is all we humans have to go on
  21. Yes it would be great to adjust this - I have lived on the coast for 50 years. You can have very strong wind and the ocean has no swell and is flat as a pancake. Zero wind and 3 metre swell from a distant cyclone with surf rolling in neat lines ( sets ) makes it easier to catch waves surfing. off shore breeze with 3 metre swell with the surf tops being sprayed off ( ideal as it holds up the breaking wave longer for surfing ) Large swell from distant cyclone and strong wind = Washing Machine effect - waves breaking from many directions and very messy and dangerous - red no swimming flags up beach closed. This could also be usefull infomation for when the Hawian Islands get built in DCS ! Aloha from Australia !

  23. I used a similar method and trickery you may find interesting how i hid the road surface with a railway embankment. An airfield is a large area maybe you can make a flat grid model with posts with length markings like surveyors poles that you can position on the ground. note the readings on the posts or take screen shots in DCS in a mission then create a ground plane in blender using those readings and the model so you can have the new surface contours close just above the old ones. That should minimise the old texture showing through and not having your plane wheels sunk in the ground. It must be moved on its own wheels on the railway network to locations and for repairs. 2. It can only rotate + or -1 degree to Aim. 3. It needs to have a Turntable erected on site so it can Aim and Rotate 360 degrees. 4. Another option was to lay track on a bend to point the barrel. 5. It needs a tunnel built on site so it can hide from enemy aircraft attacks. My DCS Version - I am back working on it again. 1. " It must be moved on its own wheels on the railway network to locations and for repairs " - build the Rail Gun as a Railway Wagon with 2 bogies with 6 axles each. - this can be set up in DCS as a train with support wagons and staff cars and hauled around on the network by two locomotives. 2. " It can only rotate + or -1 degree to Aim " - Dont bother with this just have the barrel rotation fixed. 3. " It needs to have a Turntable erected on site so it can Aim and Rotate 360 degrees " - As a start I made a model of a turntable base raised up above the road surface " no track or rotating table this will be updated " 4. " Another option was to lay track on a bend to point the barrel " - need to find a flat road with a nice bend for this. 6. " It needs a tunnel built on site so it can hide from enemy aircraft attacks " - A concrete tunnel can be built over the road surface and railway track texture on an embankment joins up with the turntable. OK so far so good - We need a different model for the working Krupp K5. 7. How to make the Krupp K5 able move out of the tunnel to the turntable in DCS using the onroad waypoints beneath the railway track embankment ? - Model the Krupp K5 as an Ai Tank that can follow the on road waypoints with the added bonus of being able to go real slow and also stop and start. 8. How to make the complete Krupp K5 rotate on the turntable ? The trick is all of the parts are connected to the turret rotation arg. So when it detects enemy it rotates whole Krupp K5 to position and the barrel aims up too and fires on targets . I built a nice big recoil action for the barrel and the whole gun moves back and forth on the rail track and shudders when fired . 9. The journey from the tunnel starts with ROE turned off and starts off by using a trigger action. when it arrives at the turntable waypoint it stops. ROE is set to Free and all HELL IS LET LOOSE and the shiny new F35's fall from the sky like snowflakes ! Check out this great youtube video with uplifting sound !
  24. Thanks ggrewe yes it did - it will open up a lot of exciting possibilities. Im hoping the train wheels rotation / valvegear "arg 8" and the Deactivation problems are sorted out in an update or when the islands are released. If so then its full steam ahead again for my other Steam Trains. DCS could even see its first train passengers well combat troops in the open sugar cane wagons ! cheers
