I'm sure your squadron is amazing, but "there is a qualification pipeline before you join on cruise and the "real" shooting starts" seems a bit more than "we on a PG cruise & have room for more." Just saying. . . .

Is it true one of the first of training requirements is constructing & leading a flight in a mission including comms & AAR?

Sounds as if a recruit can join the cruise upon joining?

Excited about the prospects of joining, upon connecting to Discord however there was no warm welcome or didn't get the feeling anyone was interested in possible recruits. 119 leadership expressed no interest. Took a while to get more information though eventually one of the member pilots kindly answered questions. Training nights well established, but working towards a goal of one coordinated mission a month. Just one person's experience.

Yeah, would love to slave the TGP to a2g radar for movers & other. Can't understand not producing the a2g radar before so many other things. How do we find you on TS or Discord? Mon & Wed usually good for me.

What nights of the week does training occur? And does VCAW-11 offer weekly coordinated missions for regular qualified pilots and if so what nights please? Only certain nights of the week are available to some of us due to work or family and would nice to know before applying. Thank you!

Does VCSG3 have designated flight nights/times when coordinated missions are flown? Was unable to find weekly flight schedule on website. This would immediately help those interested determine whether they could participate in official squadron activities given their work/family schedule.

Can I assume from the above,"sometimes carrier ops etc." that the 52nd is not all Navy carrier ops? I didn't readily find what aircraft you're flying or not flying (I didn't check the website yet). Thank you for addressing my questions.

Going through training on your own, as required by some posting here, is a real bore for me & would guess to most. I enjoy teamwork and training as a team - I believe it is more effective and certainly more fun.

How do you practice as a team when there are no established or "rigid" times to meet? I'm interested but I have to plan my schedule in order to know when to meet up. Thx
