  1. So the switches that behave different, ARE different?
  2. Er, as you're in the US of A you clearly haven't noticed that for the other 99.9% of everything the shoe is, quite literally, on the other foot. US release for most things (films especially) is usually at least 1 week ahead.
  3. Mine was 'expedited' delivery, came by City Link.
  4. Mine arrived at 8:50 this morning at work, and after some hasty carpentry and a massive stroke of luck (I happened to have some bolts of just the right type and size to mount the stick) it's now installed! The TARGET software won't run though :( - edit - Ah, it's a windows localisation issue - just found the thread on SimHQ. 2010-10-29-16-59-15-422 by KaiserB_uk, on Flickr
  5. Expedited delivery to work tomorrow - but it better arrive by 12:30 as we're half day Fridays
  6. I do so love repeating myself. 4GB. TOTAL. That must include all hardware which includes memory, i.e. Video cards. If you have a 512MB graphics card, and 4gb RAM, your system will 'see' 3.5GB of RAM. If you have a 1GB Graphics card and 4GB of RAM your system will 'see' 3GB of RAM. If you have a 768MB Graphics card....geddit?
  7. '32 bit' can address 4GB of memory - though that must include all hardware including video cards so is typically between 3 and 4GB.
  8. Well no, but TiR supports [some of] the higher F keys (F13 - F24) and I can reproduce them with my Cougar (using USB codes - USB 68 is F13). If you have G15 or similar keyboard you can then assign those keys to the G-keys. Nate made a good point about checking which profile is assigned - Combat Flight is probably the default.
  9. I just don't get 'it'. HDR is supposed to stand for High Dynamic Range, not 'Vaseline smeared on your goggles'. I keep cleaning my glasses :S
  10. Sounds like F12 is assigned to an in-game function? I use F13 to centre and it works fine.
  11. Ugly? UGLY??
  12. Repetitive and skint?
  13. Well you could get some flight gloves - real pilots wear them after all. I got some proper driving gloves for this year's tour of the Alps and I might start using them for simming. Oh dear. I've gone too far haven't I.
  14. It's a replica. Not a 1:3 scale replica. Just like the Cougar.
  15. I can't be a fanboi - I've got an android phone. Pre-ordered.
  16. The amount the pilot is moving around in his seat - leaning forwards especially - surprises me. I was expecting him to be pressed up against the canopy when he did the negative G stuff!
  17. Given how slowly the T-frog lumbers into the sky, why are you hitting the raise gear key so soon? I'm watching my VSI and waiting for oh, I dunno, positive indication of climb, before raising gear, flaps, chopping throttle, anything.
  18. You missed the update? €399, more info on the 19th.
  19. What, like a U2nxt modded Cougar and Hall modded throttle? Yep, I'm buying this new stick the second it's available for pre-order. Jealous? EDIT: - looking back a bit I see you're a Cougar owner, and possibly a modded one, so probably not. Misunderstood ;) Seriously though, it's the new throttle quadrant (including all those switches on the baseplate) which has sold it to me, I live in hope that the stick is going to be brilliant but I'm a long-time TM user so I'm prepared for all eventualities!
  20. DI's Tornado... JP233 baby! And the toss-bomb attacks *sigh* As for the F3 not being much of a fighter - I used to pwn those MiG29's with just guns!
  21. And if you believe anything from Fox 'News', well, you'll believe anything.
  22. It is quite a lump, but it doesn't handle that badly once you learn its limitations. At first keep an eye on the AoA meter, it's really easy to overdo it. With practice you'll learn to be really gentle on the stick. Use first stage flaps when manoeuvring a lot, makes it much more nimble. Your BS trim problem sounds like classic FFB wheel also plugged in syndrome, make sure FFB is disabled in producer.cfg (I along with most use Viper's cougar profile - if slightly modified - and it works fine).
  23. The Buccaneer, ugly?! How very dare you!
  24. It's not Windows fault - programmers have to change the way their programs work. This has been the case since Vista, remember LockOn is much older than that. Arma2 is a good example - the .ini/.cfg files that you might need to mess about with are in the \User\Saved Games folder.
  25. I have similar problems, also with Win 7 64-bit. Have you tried re-running the A̶u̶g̶ ̶0̶9̶ Feb 10 directx install? I have and the crashes have become less frequent, if not totally fixed. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=0cef8180-e94a-4f56-b157-5ab8109cb4f5
