  1. Precision mode simply reduces the sensitivity of the profile across all axes AFAIK so you'll want to just turn them all down in your profile. 17 is REALLY sensitive! I use 0,1,2,5,9,12,12,12 shape and shift the whole curve slightly for Pitch Roll and Yaw, and linear 10-ish for XYZ. I prefer that slight deadzone when looking at the HUD, stops me feeling motion-sick!
  2. Just noticed in a MP mission that the enemy AI only appears to target the 'player' and not the actual heli - I took a chaparal sidewinder in the face, pilot killed (blood all over the canopy, nice modelling!) but my helo stayed in a stable circle pattern...well within range and sight of a Hawk battery and all sorts of short range Anti Air goodies but they left my now pilotless chopper to circle indefinitely. Maybe something for the patch?
  3. I'm there. I'll be dead very quickly, or stuck in a hover behind a shack, but I'm there.
  4. Okay - so what does 'Shack' mean? Hit, dead, kill, splat, bullseye?
  5. A 'barrel' roll should involve a pitch up before the roll manoeuvre, this might reduce the altitude loss slightly. That said, heli's can't fly upside down for a reason! Try pitching up to about 20deg before rolling.
  6. Silly question alert! How are the Su25's cleared to attack - by me (if so how?) or by the SAMs being destroyed (i.e. a trigger)? Top work btw.
  7. Indeed - on my G15 it remapped to 'OEM102'.
  8. Possibly related - can the Ka50 maintain altitude with one good engine? I took a few cannon hits on one engine and rpm was down to ~60% on the left and was unable to stay airborne - I had to put it down in the field and was unable to lift off again. Is setting the govenor to high a form of boost?
  9. +1 Caught me out, big time.
  10. I agree with the OP - particularly when Wags is reciting the various min/max weapon ranges it's very 'information overload', at the end of the weapon training mission I can barely keep up with the different modes and procedures. That one training mission could be four or five different training missions, concentrating on employment techniques. When is Ironhand going to start making BS tutorials? :P That said, it's still a great sim.
  11. Ah. RTFM then :)
  12. I'm already using it, it's very good. Nice work!
  13. I spoke too soon. Is there a way of disabling Trim altogether? Because that what appears to be happening. If I start the weapon training mission and take control while on the runway (hot start) the trim functions perfectly (I can see the stick move as I release the trim button). If I cold start in a mission, nothing. T does nothing. Ctl-T does nothing. Even if I use the cold start cheat, no trim at all. It's as if it needs turning on? Could this be a bug? If it's only me then perhaps I need to reinstall?
  14. Cracked it! Thanks for the help.
  15. Trim and a Cougar I've read the FAQ, I understand what's supposed to happen, but when I try and trim the stick I get further out of trim, not less? There's supposed to be this 'pause' where you center the stick after releasing the trim button - how long does it last? Bit of a hurdle this, as flying is completely 'hands-on' at the moment and with the clickable pit, ABRIS etc I need to be able to let go every now and then! English version btw.
  16. That mission in the A-10 where you finished up shot in half by an R-77 (was it?) and bailed in very relaxed fashion was quite a good blooper I thought!
  17. This might be a silly question, but I've searched and can't find an answer so: Is it possible to install multiple copies of Lock On on the same PC? Specifically, I have Flaming Cliffs 1.11 but I have friends who haven't/aren't going to buy FC any time soon, but we want to fly online together. No problem, I'll install a second copy and only patch it to 1.02.....how do I do that then?!? Also, if we wanted to set up a 'dedicated server' (I use the quotes because of the obvious lack of a dedicated server) from a licencing perspective would we need to buy the server a copy? That might or might not be a silly question - I guess a proper dedicated server (a-la il2) is a 'crippled' version of the game and thus doesn't need licencing? Thank you for any help and advice you can offer.
  18. Perhaps if you wanted to surpass James Hallows you could set up and maintain a Cougar fansite and community where hapless noobs like me can find all the information they'll ever need on using, maintaining, modding and yes, frequently fixing their beloved joysticks. Oh and write Foxy. Or perhaps not.
  19. I've installed the 76.45 whql drivers and it's working great now, with advanced haze. I'm using a 6800GT. You can find the drivers here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1062
  20. I can confirm same problem with 71.89 (latest nVidia official) drivers. Will update when I find a driver version which allows advanced haze....
  21. That video is proper class. The bit with the inset image 'projected' onto the building is genius. The flying was quite good as well :D
  22. What BIOLOG said.
  23. Well I missed the first day or so of the download being available, logged onto the site, saw it was available, went through the whole process only to get a Paypal error. Bit odd I thought, tried again. Eventually dropped into the forums to find the post from Wags (not a spokesman for ED remember) regarding paypal issues. So the criticism of the lack of updates on the website stands. Let's be clear, anyone who's registered on these forums is a flight sim nut, a rare breed. And I'm sure that almost without exception we all appreciate what ED have accomplished so far and are eager for them to continue producing more and ever better products (after all, very few others are even trying). This means that any whining is being done by people who don't want to be whining, who HAVE got better things to do with their time and who just want to get this game installed and get flying (so we can start complaining about the modelling of missiles apparently *sigh* ;)). If you're one of the few (?) who already have the game perhaps there's no need to slap down those who haven't and are getting impatient. Certainly calling us names and making us feel stupid for voicing our concerns helps noone. Just let the threads run their course. And if you're from ED and can do HTML (or whatever the website is done in) then perhaps the odd news update wouldn't go amiss. Just my tuppence worth.
  24. Woah there attitude boy. The poor guy is simply expressing his frustration at the complete lack of visibility on this site. No updates, very little comment from anyone in the know, the front page seemingly never changes, then when he and others ask a simple question like 'when might we buy this marvellous product' he gets helpfully told that the product was never intended for sale to him and his ilk. Personally I'll be snapping it up at the earliest opportunity, but as I'm waiting for my Cougar upgrades (April NXT run - Woohoo!) and it's pretty hard work flying with the stock joystick, I can wait. (Just thought I'd share.) PS: Stormin - Not having a go at you old chap, you're an important and vocal part of this community but on this occasion the 'whiners' (of which I am one) do have a point. Right, back to lurking. Cheerio!
