  1. Manual page 268: I'm not sure I understand why there isn't a config which will allow any fuse setting, rather than having to choose 'Fixed Low' AND 'Nose', or 'Fixed High' AND 'N/T' or 'Tail'?
  2. Excellent. As repayment maybe you could ask your cricket chaps to go easy in the World Cup eh?
  3. Sorry chap - as per my post in the other thread and the manual, 'Invalid Fuzing' is a combination of selecting 'Nose' with 'Fixed High'.
  4. According to the manual 'Invalid Fuzing' [sic] on the MK82AIR is caused by selecting Nose fuse while 'Fixed High' is selected. Been buggin me as well - haven't figured out what 'Fixed' refers to yet though.
  5. Airwolf - yes! Honestly, this kind of question is about as relevant as "which heavy bomber would win in a close in dogfight?" Who cares?
  6. I only tried refueling yesterday after reading this thread. "How hard can it be?" I asked myself, "flipping noobs!" I chuckled... Holy hell that's hard. In 2 sessions and over 30 minutes flying I managed about 20 seconds of contact and took on approximately a pint and a half of fuel. If someone could ask the tanker pilot to get his speedo calibrated and then to fly at EITHER 246 OR 247 knots that would be brilliant. Nurse!
  7. What happened to the law-enforcement missus?
  8. While I'm very jealous of all who fly, it's tempered by the fact that I cannot fly without throwing up! I've flown in commercial jets (as a passenger, obviously), a Grumman Cheetah and a K13 glider (that was back in April) and up-chucked in all of them. At least I can get massively drunk in relative comfort flying the DCS A10 and K50 :D (and keep my dinner down)
  9. How about a credit for the music, unless it's all your own work of course. Other than that, nice video.
  10. Yes. The Warthog is 'programmable' - that is it can do whatever you want it to do, within reason.
  11. With excellent english commentary. http://en.rian.ru/video/20110112/162117872.html
  12. This might be of some use as well http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=46091&highlight=blackshark+flash+cockpit+trainer
  13. Glad you could see the humour in my post if I couldn't necessarily see the irony in yours ;)
  14. He's american, they don't 'do' irony*. *they think it means 'made of iron'.
  15. blaster - it's not a 'study' sim because you have to study. Seriously? It's a study of one aircraft in exquisite detail, as was BS before it.
  16. Back in what, '93?, I stumbled across an FLCS (the old phantom stick) and that was pretty much me hooked on TM. I followed the Cougar's development, the release, the faults, the emerging mods... In 2004 I finally had the funds to buy one, and bought it with the intention to get the U2nxt (I got #094!). I knew what I was getting, I loved it but couldn't fly for toffee with it, till the nxt arrived...
  17. Yup, I did this, although I managed to only squish (and not sever) the earth wire. Good tip is to have the baseplate removed and pull the wires taught from underneath [while refitting the ball joint] - it's having slack above the ball joint which causes problems.
  18. No quick, point at the n00b! *points*
  19. Pretty much zero chance of the latch 'mechanism' wearing I reckon - it's just magnets.
  20. Personally I'd wait until it was actually launched before ejecting... ;)
  21. Serial #: 00466 Location: Leighton Buzzard, England
  22. There's a reason for that - I've had it in pieces as I couldn't work out what was actually going on internally from the SimHQ review pics - the spring gets compressed uniformly by a plastic platform which can only move up/down (i.e. there's no internal 'tilting' of the spring). All that changes is the contact point of the lever (the ball joint) on this platform. One effect of this is that having compressed the spring a certain amount by say, pulling the stick back, there's no actual spring resistance to circular movement. For me, I find this creates some slightly odd forces when I'm moving the stick around, but that's because I'm coming from a NXT modded Cougar which was completely smooth in all directions (rubber boot excepted). I'm sure I'll adjust to it soon enough, and the ABSOLUTE precision of the sensor output and COMPLETE lack of play more than makes up for it.
  23. You sure? The handle and shaft are one and the same - it's one piece of plastic. The play is where the bottom of the shaft becomes the lift mechanism, as far as I can tell.
  24. Mine's the same. I think it's a side-effect of the detent mechanism as the throttle levers have to be able to lift so they're not actually connected directly to the pivot/tension mechanism. While it's a little annoying now that it's been pointed out (yeah, thanks Coolts ;)), it isn't something I notice when in use, even with them split. The actual movement is still super smooth and accurate and that's what you notice in game.
