Calling Cougar gurus !(again)
kaiserb_uk replied to coolts's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Seriously, you should read the Foxy help files. They're encyclopaedic. But anyway, the numpad keys have their own names, i.e. KP0 is the numpad zero with numlock on. -
Well if I might add my dissenting voice to this thread, lest anyone think it's all smiley and happy. New install of Win7 64-bit, fresh install of FC and crashes randomly after a few minutes. Frustratingly it always seems to happen on finals. But not to worry, if FC2 is going to update the whole thing. Presumably FC2 will update the game with OpenAL sound?

Yeah, apart from how little the pilot does in those birds. Quite honestly would be the most boring thing imaginable. Now Wild Weasel might be a little more like it, F-4G please!

Is Black shart able to do circle strafe?

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=39402&highlight=funnel Also make sure you engage FD mode on the autopilot. Also, why can't the real C-130 fly backwards and land like it can in Arma? -
I prised mine out by slipping a knife under the lip of the housing and twisting (I rotated mine a few degrees for comfort). I think I did bust the clip in the process, but as it's never going to fall out on its own I wasn't concerned.

It's not much of an announcement though is it? We're making a military sim controller. Yay us. Oh, you want to buy it? Hadn't thought of that. -
R. Shaw "Fighter combat", some questions
kaiserb_uk replied to Maximus_G's topic in Military and Aviation
Re the SNR ratio - missile seekers use analogue feedback mechanisms, and if you think about the way a Sidewinder's seeker 'growls' and the way the growl varies depending on the strength of the heat source, it's not unreasonable to assume that a stronger heat source will also translate to a stronger force applied to the seeker's gyro. I just made that up but it sounds convincing no? -

Hmm...wonder if a partial upgrade for existing Cougar owners will be possible... -
Good work - love the 3 abreast shots.

Unexplained crash or rotor disintegration

HTH Yeah, you learn quite quickly to not touch the right pedal at any sort of speed. -
I did say we're rubbish :D

We've just been playing 'Convoy Hunter' again and I have a suggestion: While I like the 2 stage approach - stage one 'take the FARP' - stage two 'hunt the convoy' - it doesn't work as one mission. Mainly because despite taking the FARP we can't take off from there. You need to understand we're rubbish and die frequently, so once the convoy is underway we inevitably end up back at FARP 1 spooling up while the convoy races towards its goal. Even if you manage to make it to the other side, one hit from a Hummvee and you end up crash landing, then contemplating another ten minute haul back to the action. My suggestion - separate the missions into Convoy part one and Convoy part two. Then FARP 2 becomes the takeoff point and we have a chance of defeating the convoy.

Which version of the trackir software are you using? (I'm using 4 hardware with the 5 software) Try changing the smoothing setting in trackir if it's a bit jumpy, but if it's jumping to center when you're looking near the limits then check what's happening in the tracking display, that's caused by the trackir either losing one of the dots or maybe picking up another light/heat source and getting confused. Are you using a trackclip or the vector thing on a hat? Do you wear glasses (I do, and sometimes they get in the way of the trackclip). Ultimately you'll probably need to increase the sensitivity of your profile so that you can more easily reach the rear panel in the Shark.

Has the vehicles drive over blown bridges been mentioned?
kaiserb_uk replied to Ramstein's topic in Bugs and Problems
Is it only civilian traffic which floats over destroyed bridges? It seemed that way playing Dragon's 'Rookie Terrorists' the other day. -
"not noticed"? How on earth could you fail to notice as your heli spins like a top? ;) My cannon attack technique involves stabbing the left pedal instinctively when I fire the cannon!

We were playing convoy hunter (from the v2.6 pack) last night - seems to be a bug with the 2nd FARP - we kept spawning on top of each other... Other than that, excellent fun!

Sorry chaps, I was too tight with the timings and the right engine startup was failing - now fixed (and link updated). Throttle - it does the usual double tap of <PAGEUP> to set the throttle to auto if that's what you mean?
