Well it really was a sketch, just to get the concept right in my head. I wouldn't call it a 'plan' of any sort. As for the heights of the controls - the throttle is about perfect. The stick is a little low - I really need an extension for the Cougar. Mounting the stick platform at the right side it's a bit too far back for comfort. I'm going to resolve that in the near future. We'll see how the rear left platform is when the collective comes. (can't wait!) Putting the sub inside the back was a master-stroke though, the explosions in BS are brilliant!

For the last 3 years of IL2 I've been thinking about building an Aker-Barnes but actually using this: BlackShark, and an imminent collective mod from Urze has forced me to come up with something a bit better. I already had the MDF, and an hour on Google Sketchup produced this: The hardest part of any build - starting. But soon had the main pieces cut: I had help obviously: Assembled, sealed and a can of Halfords car primer later... The rear access panel for the sub woofer: The business end: Still a little bit of tweaking required to get it just right, but seems pretty good so far! And a nice feeling of "I made that" :D

I'm curious as to which will arrive first - the patch or my collective :S

Yes, I get the jumpy zoom. I usually find a sweet spot with a little twiddling where it doesn't happen so much.

Here's a thing I only discovered the other day, if like me, you get a really annoying 'pause' when slewing the Shkval with the H1, go into Control Panel and Keyboard settings and change the 'Delay' setting to its minimum.* That, as well as adding a USE RATE = (30) statement to Viper's profile has made slewing much smoother and more responsive. *This is probably the oldest Cougar tweak known to man, and I apologise if so :D

Hi Fakum, What you want is quite simple - the bit you need to edit is: BTN H3D/I /O/TKD(X1)DLY(200)KU(X1)/TKD(X2)DLY(200)KU(X2) THe stuff after the /O statement is the clever logical programming bit, if you replace that with your macro (F12) - (although I would recommend something like Scroll Lock to centre your TIR as F12 gets used in BS) you should be good to go.

I too am having the most problems with rockets. I ran the weapon training tutorial again and noted that Wags quotes the max range as being 2km, this then seemed to be verified by the launch authorisation appearing at about 2km. When you say max range is 3km, are you referring to the big rockets? Also I've heard mention of a 'ballistics mode' switch (on the right rear panel?), does anyone know what this does?

I'm using an NXT modded Cougar - I've had two spring failures in four years. Given that IJ will send you spares for no more than the postage IIRC I wouldn't use that as a reason not to go for it. I can't speak for the FSSB as I've never used one, but the NXT is absolutely brilliant, so precise. And you don't need a right arm like Popeye!
