  1. This is the beez neez man. Great job and thanks! With the dynamic mission brief would it be possible to list the frequencies as channels as well as the MHz for aircraft that only have channel selectors? For example, I jump into a F-86 on a server and it tells me that AWACS is on 236.00 but as the pilot in somebody else's mission I have no idea what channel 236.00 is.
  2. Yeah there is. Until they get around to it you can add it in yourself with a few lines of text, but I'm sorry I can't find the thread that talks about it. IIRC the title was something like "help us help them..." Just found it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125245
  3. Cool, thanks for the explanation ~
  4. How do dev's make multiple liveries if not with a template? Do they paint every nut/bolt every time?
  5. How did you do this? I put my own .ogg files into the directory and edited the .txt, but couldn't get it to work
  6. I've long wondered as to the reason why. Do you know? It seems like such a little thing...
  7. Scenic route through the mountains/cities. Could use triggers for messages or effects of some sort
  8. Great news thanks :)
  9. Pass along my congratulations to the whole team. I'm thoroughly impressed so far! Can't wait to see where AvioDev goes from here. One quick question...is the ILS functional at this stage/ I couldn't get it powered up for some reason.
  10. Anyone else get some tunes on the UHF/ Doesn't seem to matter what frequency is tuned up. :)
  11. Thanks for the update. Great stuff ~
  12. I see, maybe you just don't know the definition of the word or how it's used in a sentence. My original post stands on it's own and is, as always a forum post is, my 2 cents.
  13. Are you kidding me? Did you look at the first post in this thread?
  14. You're encouraging lack of promised product delivery? This is perhaps one of the most understanding and adult communities and it keeps getting abused because of it. Understanding that unforeseen things can happen is one thing but saying things like this is less than helpful. Not living up to promises is a negative (even if it's slight or because of some partner etc) not a positive. I've been exceedingly impressed by AvioDev's communication with the community. That said, have you forgotten that you're a consumer? Does your money really mean so little? I hope the problems that 3rd party developers seem to keep having integrating with ED get worked out soon. And as I don't know anything about the process involved I'm careful not to assign blame but when it comes down to it something was promised and not delivered. If you or I don't deliver in our jobs we are held to blame regardless of the circumstances. Sure would have been nice to use the weekend, when most people have time off, to purchase and fly as was expected.
  15. Voted Cannon. While I'd love a C-17 "just because", as someone has already stated there is zero reason to have something like that unless it can be used for it's intended purpose. For a transport that would mean integration into the ME supply system. If you want to fly aerobatics, then fly one of the jets that's already in and capable of doing that. DCS is great at the combat part and absolutely atrocious at everything else that makes the real world of flying go round. ATC? no. Weather? no. Instruments? no. Flight planning (distance, TOLD, WBC, fuel management, etc)? no. Air refueling? marginal. Interesting locations? no. ...you get the idea. Resources should definitely be directed where they're needed. I mean come on, we still don't have a Nevada map that was promised in A-10C Beta. Not to mention all the models and stuff in game that were created for Flanker!
  16. Another member posted this info in another thread. This is from the real manual AFAIK but we don't really know if DCS has modeled it true to real life. Looks like absolute minimum range is 900m and max at 10,000ft is 1000m! pretty small window... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2136016&postcount=13
  17. What range were you at when you tried? I can't remember the numbers exactly, but it seems to me that the minimum range for these are 1km or so. It's really easy to get too close and the missile won't track properly. Also I think weird things happen when the seeker head has to contend with the sun or weather. If you guys were flying towards the setting or rising sun that could mess with your results. I'm not sure if weather actually affects the missile in DCS though.
  18. Mainstay, did you ever get a response on this? I'm interested as well
  19. Woot! Can't wait!
  20. Awesome! Too bad you don't have time to finish it...I really like some of the shots you have in there. I prefer the second sound track
  21. I love it. It's one of my favorites and I can't find too much fault except for the way the rudder acts. The thing that drives me nuts is the lack of a manual...but that's something I've complained about plenty before so I'll leave it at that!
  22. While you're mostly right, don't fool yourself into thinking that having real stick time in one military aircraft doesn't translate into others. There are some very fundamental truths on how airplanes work and anyone that has thousands of hours in military aircraft knows better than most when talking about subjective impressions.
  23. Wrecking Crew and I do it pretty much the same way. I would just recommend doing it earlier rather than later because if a client decides to join the mission late it can really affect the mission balancing.
