  1. Perform Task > Assign Group works, but the enroute task does not. When giving a JTAC that task he will call "No further tasking" available even though he is in direct line of sight and in range of the target. I thought this was a known issue and was the reason everyone says to do it via assign group. Am I doing it wrong? EDIT: I'm sorry I don't have a track to post atm.
  2. Is this working in the current build or do you still have to manually assign the targets for the JTAC? Thanks ~
  3. A vid of some flying with the squadron. Hope you enjoy ~ Make sure to watch in HD!
  4. Amazing pit acemark! Don't see many shark pits!
  5. Ah, yeah I don't think I explained well enough. I meant if the projectors were mounted on the ceiling overhead the cockpit and the screens were not all the way up to the ceiling, then there's a negative angle there...which will get larger the closer in the screen gets to the projector. I think I get what you're saying though and I will try to edumacate myself more. Thanks for the link, it looks to be a great reference. I like your pit. How come no updates since 2013?! ;)
  6. Thanks, very helpful. I have been following Zahry's thread with great interest, but I think space will be an issue there. I don't think I'd be able to fit a cockpit in there, and the screen height wouldn't be great enough either. I currently run off of only 1 gpu on the 690...sli just makes everything worse in DCS. Sounds like I would need a substantial pc upgrade, and by the time I start on the project it will be time for that anyway, so that's ok. And maybe, just maybe, EDGE will fix everything...right....right?! :) I'm looking to build something on this scale: How much of a vertical angle can projectors throw on a surface and still have an non-distorted image? If i were to mount the projectors right overhead the cockpit, how close in could I move the screens? ...I wonder if anyone has tried making the canopy of the cockpit itself the viewing surface. A canopy of monitors/tvs...
  7. I'm considering on starting the insanity of pit building after an upcoming move. If I have it my way, I'm looking to build a large physical cockpit in a dedicated flight sim room. For me, the first decision that will drive all others is what type of display and what limitations come with it. I am looking to get at least 180deg, but would love 270. How many projectors would I need for a setup like this? Also, how do projectors effect FPS? Are they commensurate with monitors? ex. 3 projector negatively effect fps the same as 3 monitors do? I have a fairly nice pc atm. I7-3930k oc to 4.0ghz, nvidia 690, 16gb, ssds. I get around 30-70fps with settings maxed. What performance could I expect if I was running multiple projectors, and say 3 monitors of varying resolution for the cockpit itself? I know, with so many variables it's hard to say, but a "poor, ok, good, great" kind of answer would be helpful. Thanks ~
  8. Nice man, thanks for the work. Definitely deserves attention ~
  9. Thanks everyone. I'm glad it's useful. :)
  10. This is just a small thing here, but the animation for the Russian cluster munitions is pretty minimal. Has there been any talk about upgrading them in the future? I can't find any reference to it via search. The kmgu dispensers and CBUs are animated nicely but the RBKs just kinda go "poof."
  11. For anyone following this thread: I did a fresh install and it fixed it. Also, I was able to copy my old input folder over and it's fine, so I did not have to rebind.
  12. Thanks guys, tried both suggestions but neither has fixed it. ...clean install + 3hrs of rebinding makes me sad mmkay.
  13. I'm curious, did you reinstall and did it fix it?
  14. Man, I really hope that's not the answer... I removed mouse3 from the list. It wasn't a modifier, but removing did not solve my problem either. ...this is strange.
  15. I have the controller axis' set up correctly, but I don't get 6dof in the new cockpits. It acts like the normal FC3 type of view. I've uninstalled all mods, repaired DCS, and triple checked everything I can think of. Does anyone else have this problem?
  16. Awesome guys, but I'm not impressed until I see you do all that in a UH-1h... <.<
  17. Yes, the term was not exactly correct and was used because it's easier to understand for the layman. What I was referring to was a landing engineered around a powered lift configuration where backside controls are more useful. I don't think anyone here really cares what that means...the point of the post was to point out that not all aircraft are designed to land the same way.
  18. Actually, that depends on the design of the aircraft. As an example, the C-17 doesn't change pitch attitude, but does a power push at 50' to reduce the decent rate. This is because when fully configured it is on the back side of the power curve. That said, you are right about the pitch attitude on F-15s. I don't believe they are on the backside of the power curve and therefor should flare like most aircraft. Of course this is an educated guess on my part because I don't have access to the 15 dash1.
  19. Mostly Boeing's C-17 with a spattering off others in my professional career.
  20. I hope your product takes off. I have experience with 3d goggles as well as hundreds of hours in military flight sims and there is nothing like a real physical setup with real distances between eye and screen and the ability to interact naturally with the cockpit around you. Good luck ~ EDIT: Also, I read through some of the pages here...what's the beef guys? If you like goggles go with goggles...if you like screens go with screens.
  21. Agreed. Trimming the SU-25 is especially difficult for me. The trim on all the fixed wings is too coarse imo.
  22. Nice video. Can I make a few suggestions? You were flying what I would call a "bomber pattern." You wouldn't really see such a long straight in unless you were damaged or having some type of emergency. Work on making your patterns much tighter. Expediency is pretty important IRL, plus you'll learn that much more about the airplane. Also, a good altitude for your patterns in a jet is 1500' agl. The flare you did wasn't much of a flare at all. It wasn't anything terrible or anything, but as far as a teaching video, I think you could make it much softer without floating too much. That's where airspeed control comes in. And lastly, when you aerobrake, you don't want to stall out. Keep the nose off the ground, but fly it to the ground before you stall out. Otherwise it will slam down hard and do damage. Along with this, you never touch the brakes while aerobraking for the same reason...brakes on nose slams down. Good job though and thanks for the vid. I'm sure it will help a lot of people!
  23. I host a dedicated server for my group and have had no issues for over a year. Now (maybe in the last update?...not sure) after a while clients are claiming that the server is crashing/can't see it in the master list, but there is nothing wrong with the server when I check it. Also, when I get on my gaming computer which is on the same network, I can see it and connect to it just fine. I'm pretty network illiterate, so I don't know what would be causing this weird behavior. The server is still able to connect to the internet etc. From my end it appears nothing has changed on the server. Any smart people out there that have any ideas what might be going on here?
