  1. Just came here to thank you for the updated pdf manual!
  2. The question here is how to install an older version from scratch, the DCS_World_web.exe can be run with command lines?
  3. After multiple tests I've noticed that the timed frame time spikes ( https://forum.dcs.world/topic/370602-cpu-bound-frametime-spike/ ) are caused by AI Wingman, below the same mission with only the pilot and with 3 wingmans. bagram_test2: periodic spikes/microfreezes bagram_test2_no-wingman: smooth (I'm using 2.9.14.8394 because 2.9.15.9408 had longer loading times, but the performance was the same) bagram_test2_no-wingman.miz bagram_test2.miz dcs bagram_test2_no-wingman.log dcs bagram_test2.log
  4. Good guide, but the DCS performance has been problematic since last year, now I'm rolling back to 2.9.14.8394 because 2.9.15.9408 is even worse. It's not a user/HW/OS/SW issue, all of your suggestions were already applied long before installing DCS years ago (except for MSI AB for fan control, wich tests revealed that causes no issues on my rig).
  5. Same here, high CPU usage when idle, but it's been like this since 2.9.8
  6. I would be glad to know if other users noticed the same behaviour of the preload setting not being applied, if dev's are aware of a issue/bug or if it's happening only on my PC. I see lots of FPS drops/frame time spikes/sutters reports, this is what Process Monitor logs during the spike: DCS is constantly reading from *.surface5, even when parked, as if preload radius is zero.
  7. Matias, you simply don't have enough cores (IO cores: {}) and RAM to run the lots of present in current DCS release... Follow sleighzy suggestions, if you still have issues then better start thinking at a HW upgrade.
  8. Have you followed the procedure described at page 193-194 of Chuck's guide? https://chucksguides.com/aircraft
  9. Both RAM/VRAM usage are the same, tested with ReBar on and off.
  10. Thanks for the info. Best regards.
  11. As per Manual: "A larger setting reduces slowdowns due to hard disk swapping, but requires more RAM." , but if I set preload radius to 10000 or 150000 the memory usage is the same: F-16C Afghanistan C&D instant action Also, the preload radius setting is not applied without restarting DCS, logs sequence: Started DCS, changed preload from 80k to 150k= "dcs-01 150 previous 80.log" Restarted DCS = "dcs-02 150 restarted 150.log" Started DCS, changed preload from 150k to 10k= "dcs-03 10 previous 150.log" Restarted DCS = "dcs-04 10 restarted 10.log" Since recently some users had issues running DCS as admin, notice that I use an Admin account and everything was installed as Admin from day one, so I cannot perform tests with a UAC enabled Standard account. dcs-02 150 restarted 150.log dcs-03 10 previous 150.log dcs-04 10 restarted 10.log dcs-01 150 previous 80.log
  12. HeatblurUi.exe processes are still running when I close the mission, even if I start a different mission with a different aircraft: Start DCS Start mission Close mission Start mission with another AC Could this be a source of performance issues/crashes? Best regards.
  13. @ggoodavish Curiosity: how's the RAM usage without running as admin?
  14. I don't have the F-15 anymore but... If it sets it's own affinity for the systems/radar, like the F-4 does, then disabling cores could cause performance issues. With my "inferior" PC I've had stutters at Bagram from day one with every aircraft (50%RAM 30%CPU and 70%GPU usage, after landing GPU goes to 100% usage), since also the F-15 is resources demanding...
  15. Unfortunately... Is not only a Sinai map problem, nor a VR only problem, I have the same timed spikes at Akrotiri, Cairo, Bagram, Kandahar, Baghdad, but also at Batumi when there are a lot of units in play (more objects=bigger spikes). The same spike happens when taking screenshots, could it be a write-to-disk related issue?
  16. My professional CAD-CAM software for example, since it needs to read/write on system owned folders.
  17. Because some SW has issues with UAC/standard account. Running as Admin can solve some issues but isn't enough, UAC must be disabled and also some policy changes are required (3p security required to tamper protection).
  18. ...Or with NVidia! No crashes/hangs here with 552.44, only stutters due to high CPU/RAM usage in some areas.
  19. Windows event viewer is reporting something?
  20. Ops, sorry, I've opened the wrong log. I see a "ERROR Launcher (Main): [string "Config/MonitorSetup//2 screens.lua"]" and "ERROR LuaGUI (Main): [string "Config/MonitorSetup//2 screens.lua"]" , have you tried renaming saved games/DCS folder and see if the issue persists? There are warning/error notifications in Windows event viewer?
  21. 1: "2025-03-22 06:04:30.930 WARNING EDCORE (Main): CPU HAS PARKED LOGICAL CORES (this can be source of stuttering and reduced performance especially on hybrid CPUs with P/E-cores)" unpark your cores (damned Microsoft/Intel). 2: "NVIDIA Display Driver Version 57270" lot of issues with the latest NV drivers, https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/559105/geforce-grd-57270-feedback-thread-released-3525/. , try with the latest bugged ones https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/560098/geforce-grd-57283-feedback-thread-released-31825/ or roll back to stable ones (552,556).
  22. @Miro you have parked cores.
  23. I was referring at the ME trigger.
  24. Thank you @TOViper , I wasn't aware of that setting. (chiedo anche scusa per la piccola parentesi in inglese.)
  25. @Skyracer : what's your RAM clock? After the recent updates I've noticed a big drop in performance due to RAM usage, in high density areas it goes from a stutterfest with 2400MHz to a barely usable simulator with XMP1 3000MHz. Since they introduced the new fog and volumetric lights there's also more system load, so it's better to reduce preload radius to 50000-60000, visib range to high, disable shadows blur and heat blur... With the hope that they fix the rendering core stuck at 100% https://forum.dcs.world/topic/368620-one-or-more-cores-reaching-100/ Lots of "ANTIFREEZE ENABLED" even in your log. There's no virus, only false positives due to how current malware detection works.
