  1. Defender does little compared to other suites and win firewall is totally useless. @Christopher Staples you can exclude the entire "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta" from detections, this will also improve DCS performance a little. (I also exclude C:\users\...\saved games\DCS folder for speed up metasheders and fxo loading)
  2. You need to exclude also Auto-Protect and Behavioral Protection. https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v3672136
  3. I can say a lot about my lost trust in some of those vendors, since they bricked our workstations multiple times... (ESET is OK'ish if configured properly) VMProtect has 2 big issues right now: it's from a Russian company, US megacorporations want global dominance, and since 2022 source code leaks it's being used to spread malware, the files you recieve from ED updater are safe, but if your system is already compromised every payload you recive from the net could be infected. CEF: the only network request i've logged with offline mode is update.google, but I've also disabled Quic, so if it's trying to use UDP it goes nowhere. Add a line to hosts file and you're ready to go, no more ping to and data slurping from EvilCorp™.
  4. Question: in the DDI the MAVF crosshair is only pointing at the FLIR target or is locked onto a target?
  5. Yup, even security suites rely on correct system time, i've seen big problems caused by a simple excessive time offset. Your approach to the problem was the only correct solution, since it only interacts with the radar dll.
  6. No, I call it for what it is, reading the title I thought "uh, good, RB or ED have released a hotfix", not a suggestion to compromise my online security. Best regards.
  7. Pages 404 and 416: "You can also press TMS right left to toggle between polarities"
  8. Apologize for the wrong term (flat) in the first question, was a moment of confusion after the "goose slaughtering" while testing other modules Did some more tests and came to the conclusion that maybe I've hit a DCS flight dynamics limit, after all it's not a Digital Aerobatics Simulator, by the way, among all trainers, I think that the MB339 has the best FM.
  9. Read here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/351813-edrazbam-situation-info-discussion/page/2/#comment-5462767
  10. Open the quickstart mission with mission editor, change the loadout, save the mission in a different folder (my missions), start the mission and... Fly! All default AV-8B missions are not maintained since... Who knows?
  11. AV's prefer to be cautious since threat actors are using VMprotect to obfuscate their malware. For professional reasons I have a strong protection and strict configuration, until now I didn't noticed any unwanted behaviour of ED's dlls, probably the detection is only due to expired/stolen certificates.
  12. False positive, a lot of modules are affected, for some reason, recently, AV's don't like VMProtect ( https://vmpsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31505 ).
  13. It's a sort of gun camera.
  14. Yep, I know, if at 300kts I go vertical, then left aileron roll, cut the throttle and push the stick forward with max right rudder until 110-120kts it does at least three stall spins like in the track below, actually I find really difficult to pratice the spin described in the manual, once reached the 110kts the nose points down at 90° and there's no much the elevator and rudder can do. Invece con la "volo folle" si comporta bene. Mandi. 339_no-spin4.trk
  15. @SkateZilla : thanks for the detailed explanation.
  16. Indeed.. I'm not the only one.
  17. No engine issues so far, tested in both hot summer dust and cold winter snow.
  18. Excuse me, but the term "time bomb" is not always referred to malware: "In computer software, a time bomb is part of a computer program that has been written so that it will start or stop functioning after a predetermined date or time is reached. The term "time bomb" does not refer to a program that stops functioning a specific number of days after it is installed; instead, the term "trialware" applies. Time bombs are commonly used in beta (pre-release) software when the manufacturer of the software does not want the beta version being used after the final release date. One example of time bomb software would be Microsoft's Windows Vista Beta 2, which was programmed to expire on May 31, 2007. The time limits on time bomb software are not usually as heavily enforced as they are on trial software, since time bomb software does not usually implement secure clock functions."
  19. Also the beautiful F1 is "Early. Access." , but it works pretty well and bugs are promptly fixed.
  20. Are you still able to enter a flat spin? I've tried all my best but I'm unable to stall the AC or to make it depart, rudder and elevator authority seem too weak.
  21. That's not a fix, it's a workaround, and it can cause unwanted issues, since other software rely on the correct time and date.
  22. Today's top songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5rRZdiu1UE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL2wGYCINwY I'm hesitant, wait and keep a digital flyin' brick or ask for miles.
  23. ...The Best... This is subjective, maybe when/if all bugs are fixed it could be one of the better modules. This "pay them" for the software to work as intended taste like "ransomware", don't you think?

  25. You must fly the parameters with precision, but before you must find suitable parameters for the mission profile. I've did some tests with the DT training mission and both DT and Direct gave me good results (400kts, 3000ft, 30°) . Question: since bombing tables (kneeboard) have notes regarding the corrections needed for pressure and temperature deviation, does DCS weapons simulation take in account those parameters?
