Hey guys, With 2.5 coming (eventually); which merges Caucassus and Nevada; will current missions made in Nevada remain compatible? Or is there a good chance that due to the major update, all missions be rendered incompatible? (map getting bigger, reoriented, scaled... whatever). Anyone has any idea regarding this?

How to curiosity; is the phoenix holding the F14 back a bit in terms of release? You guys could release the plane without the phoenix earlier, gather data and feedback from the pre-release sale and add the phoenix as a secondary release (same price). i certainly wouldn't mind the plane first, get used to it and all : )

Would it be possible to have Script-Based support for written content in the Editor? An external scripting document or Log or file of some sort, to manage and edit the content of "Actions" in triggers? The purpose of this is to easily edit content of certain TriggerActions easily and rapidly rather than having to go in the narrow column of events, find the proper one and edit it manually every time. This is particularly useful in Randomized or Variation of events (branching) where you need to change a word or a coordinate in multiple "Message to Group" (or coalition or whatever). The suggestion would instead, offer the following: Have a string generator/tracker. Each Message is a string in the "Action" Message (such as: [VO_Brief03-034935245klm]). The document contains all the Strings (manually or automatically generated...). The external document could look like this: When the mission is created, all the "action - Msg" contain only the strings. But go fetch the text content from another document (external), where it is easy to edit and change content. So in practice, you can look up the document and do "CTRL-F" (to search) for "Junker 31" and type in "replace with" "Starbound 45". Instead of going through every single event, highlighting every "Msg" action and manually replacing every "Junker 31". This is extremely time consuming, and error-bound. Naturally, you can also make bigger changes. This way, it becomes extremely easy to track your VO and your in-game text, because you can name both the same way (string).

I've been trying to find a different way to fake this, but so far haven't been able to. Followup questions: Is there a way for a unit to know when its being targeted by laser? (the same way we track targets with radar for example?) And a way to trigger an event based on that?

Using mods like the Starway Desert or Vietnam texture mods drastically changes the way you perceive the map. Changing city names to African, Middle-Eastern, South American or Asian can make a good difference in atmosphere. I support this request fully. Caucassus is as Caucassus as its name. Not its landscape, which is extremely generic anyways.

Hey guys, Anyone know of a way to Trigger an event (msg, flag change...) when a user has a TGP lock on a unit? For example, having a msg pop when the pilot locks a specific Helicopter or Convoy vehicle?

Sometimes its quite difficult to come up with a scenario with units in it, without having to "hack" the country .lua Other times, its just hard to figure out which country uses what units, because although each country is listed, the encyclopedia doesn't list which country uses what units. So it becomes a huge guess game of who uses what. Would it be possible to have an option to choose "all units from "Selected Coalition" (Blue or Red or Neutral)? This way, at least we can find units rapidly and keep the coalitions logical.

Hey guys, been flying a lot of the F5 in recent weeks (since its release on DCS). But, after watching multiple documentaries and reading lots of wiki... it seems the F5 wasn't really used in combat that much? I know many countries use or have used it (Canada included), but as for active theaters... not much? Any good literature or documentaries or other sources that can tell tales of the F5 in action? Hey guys, This is mostly a question about for real-life Tanker operators (or people that are in the know); about proper procedures for Tankers (all?). The reasons for these questions is, because we tend to practice that a lot, but we never really know where or how to do it properly. Also, because, well... DCS, in the past 15 years, have not made refueling effective or fonctional, most of the time. Thanks for your time!

When adding images to a mission briefing; If the user saves/runs the mission and later changes the image, for another image with the same name, the mission crashes and image is replaced with placeholder "image missing" (digi camo texture). How to repro: Make mission. Add an image; "image1.jpg" Save/run Edit mission, change same briefing image with new image (different pixels/saved date), but still called "image1.jpg". Editor will not recognize the image. launching the mission will crash on "Fly". I had to flush all images. rename them to something else ("image1-1.jpg) for it to stop working.

Would it be possible to not close all windows and settings when we save/saveAs. For the heavy scripters, we spend a lot of time in Triggers. And everytime i make a few triggers, i save, for fear of a crash. And every time, my triggers window closes. And every time, i have to scroll down and find where i was at in my script. This is very time consuming and becomes extremely annoying, rapidly. Thank you.

Anyone has a recommendation to make functioning "borders" ? Is there a way to trace a country border line, or zone, for which AIs will defend and patrol, without crossing it? I'm having a hell of a time setting up Patrolling planes stick to their routes. I have to disable them near completely so they don't just go chasing everyone on the bloody map. How do i tell them to protect only a certain area?

Would it be possible to update the size of the Briefing area. This menu option was designed for much lower resolution than by today's standard. Most of us run at 1080p+ (i'm at 2K / VR Rift). 1. Image Size: The 512x512 for images is rather small. I like to convey information with those images (satellite images, flight plans ... and this is hard to use. 2. Briefing Text Briefing and Objectives windows are very small. They could use a much bigger portion of the screen. 3. Image Page Hyperlink Having the ability to have a hyperlink clickable icon or text that can be inserted in the Briefing and/or Objectives Windows, which automatically switch to the desired image would also help. We can right (img #2) in the text, but the hyperlink would be much better. 4. Select/Copy text The ability to highlight and copy text that is in the Briefing and/or Objectives. Reason, sometimes i'd like to include user-made videos with YouTube links. It would be nice to have the ability for users to select that link and alt/tab to a YouTube window for viewing prior to mission start. 5. Video embedding. Related to #4; the ability to include a video (link) to play in the Image window. The video doesn't need to be included in the miz file. It could open a web embedded video (YouTube, vimeo...) such as we have in most games/web interfaces by today' standard. 6. Audio Support Same kind as 4 and 5. The ability to attach a audio file to the .miz for the briefing and/or Objectives. It could be a hyperlink "play/pause" button embedded in the text, or a playable file from an image slot (click on image for playback...). Play/pause/DragTime would be nice. Having the ability for the editor to offer only units that match the date set for the mission. Example: If a mission takes place in 1970, certain units should not be available, since they were not in service then. Such as the F15 or F18 or M1 Abrams. Naturally, this should be a On/Off option (not everyone needs or wants this). Argument: Yes, there is an encyclopedia. Yes there is wikipedia. However, this is a Time-Consuming effort to do research (and we are not all war nuts with unlimited knowledge in the matter). Having the ability to set a time/date and only see relevant material greatly helps in building fast, accurate and time-sensitive missions. Cheers,
