F a workaround, fix it, do your job developers..you've known about the issue since Feb when users brought it up and hesitated to act. Now Metas jacked up update rolled out we, your customers are up a creek. No recent hot fixes, failure to announce or act on the Meta update. Lazy or incompetent? Or I guess you can still blame COVID. Sorry MF's!

Why did the Maverick helmet skins get nerfed on 2.9 update?

Like the title screen says "15 years of DCS" and the clouds still look 8-bit in VR.

I also have the 4080 but with i9 14900kf 32gb. Windows 11. I've noticed with the G2 in open xr runtime it's Resolution is like 3160x 3145 or so. On the headset settings in windows I put it on optimal performance and the rest default 90hz etc.Open XR render rez at 50% which drops the rez to like around 2160x2145. Then open xr toolkit I just turned turbo on rest default. PD on dcs 1.0. And with DLSS and for some reason if the sharpening wasn't all the way up I had frame drops...weird Nividia Control panel all default except shader cache 10gb, pre rendered frames 3. Process lasso all e cores off and any p cores that sit at 100% off, power option to max. I get a solid 90fps, I mean solid. When you see it drop to 72 then 84 then 90. I delt with that this whole time until today.

13900KS: E-cores useful in dcs ?
Go-Go replied to cmbaviator's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've been messing with settings for months. Watched a YouTube video on DCS 2.9 edge. A lot of info...But 1 thing I pulled out was Process Lasso. Selected "disabled efficiency mode always" disables all e-cores and selected "power mode to max". Smoothed it all out at 90fps Syria 200ft over big ass city in instant action free flight F18, F16, A10II, and Spitfire...HAGS and game mode off. (BTW process lasso will show you active cores and Hags made the cores have low activity.) I used dlss and sharpening all the way up, for some reason lowering the sharpening on dcs settings caused frame drops. I9 14900kf, 4080, 32gb ddr5 5600 m.2 and HP Reverb G2. What a pain in the ass. -
My system didn't crash until I complained.

Pretty accurate about Marine ops. The flight plan says 25kft M .75, but they fly at 24k and m .72 and a mile off course. And poodle is a c@nt!

First I'm glad the mirrors adjust now, but when I turn my head there's a ghost helmet that flashes in and out. Depending which mirror I look at. Also, when I lean forward into mirror the image on the mirror gets smaller and when I move back the image on the mirror gets bigger.

The comms options are annoying in VR. One f18 campaign they binded the f10 comms option to the anti ice/ rain input so you can bind it to the hotas. I know most use the f10 comms menu, but half a dozen times before you get to wp 1 is not very immersive. After the first mission my forehead was raw from lifting the hmd up and down. I try to Stevie Wonder the keyboard but it's slow and usually hit the wrong button. I do like you can switch the uhf and vhf channels, when the rest of the flight is jaw jacking war stories, I can turn the channel...save it for the "O"club and stop talking about Jody on air!

Ok. I've just broke through. I9 14900kf 4080 32gb 5600. HP Reverb G2. Windows 11 settings menu for Mixed reality, Nividia control panel, open xr, dcs, open xr toolkit. Attention to: Windows mixed reality in Windows setting/headset setting to Optimize performance. Nividia panel set mfaa on, prefer max performance, shader cache to 10gb, pre rendered frames at 1. Open xr render resolution 100% which you can raise or lower a bit. Set VR pixel density to .9 in DCS. DLSS on, and to Quality. You can play with all other settings, clouds caused some spikes so I set to standard, and terrain shadows to flat. LOD to 2. Open xr "toolkit" only change to TURBO ON. Oh and GPU scheduling ON in Windows graphics. I'm getting 90 fps on ground and carriers as well as altitude. Also on F-18 instant action battlefield scenario. Which has a lot of units. Also with mirrors on. Still has some hickups and drops to 82 or 75 for a brief sec in low level canyon runs. I'm CPU bound and my GPU was using only 5gb, after this change it stayed around 8gb and 10gb on the Teddy Roosevelt. Anyway I think the main contributer was pixel density in dcs. Sliding it back by .1 then supersample with open xr at 100% to 120% to sharpen things up. The MFAA in Nividia control panel smooths out the digital green mfd's caused by stepping back the PD. Hope this helps someone. 20231214_030702.heic

I9 14900kf rtx 4080 ddr5 32gb 5600 xmp. CPU bound not smooth on pitch dlss balanced. I guess I will try 64gb 5200 no xmp. DCS never fails to disapoint.

2 options. 32GB DDR5 5600mts XMP Vs. 64GB DDR5 5200mts non-XMP for DCS VR?

Noticed with 2.9 the Top Gun II helmet skins are gone from the F/A-18C. While playing in VR I liked seeing the Viper one flash in the mirrors while looking for migs.
