Request for new models for old flyables
MonnieRock replied to SuperKungFu's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Hello Everyone, I too would pay as much as the 1.2 add-on to have AFM and AWM for both the Su-27 & Su-33 with better high res/polygon models and 6DOF like the Ka-50 Cockpit. In this series, not future products. I know some of the western jets pilots might get upset but, it is a russian simulation. I can handle that. It would really increase the realism of the carrier ops if the Su-33 had the AFM in my opinion. ED, you can have my money if this were to become reality because I fly two airframes in this sim, Su-25T and Su-33. You can guess why I like the Su-25T so much, the AFM. Thank you, Monnie -
Jessi1, Are you using Flaming Cliff 1.11? Is the mod you are using the one that was made for 1.02 which includes: addon.lma PRIBORY-14-29.tga.dds ZERRKALA-BLIK.tga.dds If not, could you send me the mod you have? Thank you, Monnie

FC and Stereoscopic and SLI
MonnieRock replied to MonnieRock's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Did some more testing, Seems the A-10 does SLI and Stereoscopic just fine. Fails for the Su-33,Su-27, Su-25(t) -
Hello Everyone Version 1.11. Currently using the 78.01 Forceware Drivers with the 78.01 Stereo Drivers. (Latest) 1) I can play with SLI, no Stereo, Runs great. 2) I can play Single Card (SLI Disabled) In Stereo, Runs Great. 3) Stereo and SLI. Will not work, games locks up and have to hard boot (reset) It is a shame because my monitor does 2048x1536 @85hz and it looks wonderful. I would like to be able to take advantage of the second video card I have. I have tried all resolutions from 800x600 up to 2048x1536 using SLI and Stereo which results in the same thing, locks up. Using the single card, all resolutions work great. Did a clean install of windows xp pro, everything up to date, and only installed the 78.01 Forceware and 78.01 Stereo Drivers from the start. Any ideas? :icon_pray :icon_ques Thank you, Monnie

Not sure if ED could do this but...

Not in the Su-25T Will Ka-50 be the same? -
Gentlemen, We are where we are going to be for a while. I do not see lock-on getting any attention to the cpu limiting from the game engine. AMD and Intel can not go any faster , that is why dual cores are out now. I do not see physics cards being supported in lockon Sound engine is not going to be improved. Graphic engine will not get an update to latest shader models. I get the same fps with everything turned on high at 800 x600 as I do at 2048x1536. I increase my cpu speed, things go up. Fact of life, fact of lock-on. Options: 1) Get a fast cpu, add phase change cooling and clock as high as you can. Just the way it is. I suspect around 3.6-3.9 on an amd platform would enable some steady fps with high settings using today's current top notch video cards. 2) Keep water and visibity range turned down. Wish it was not true, but sometimes the truth hurts. With today's best hardware, you will not go hunting for vehicles hidden in the streets of Krasnodar with settings on high. Krasnodar renders over 20,000 objects. No sir, You have a nice rig and enjoy it

what a ATI 1800xt & AMD 64x2 4400 can do

I have my HDD's in raid mode 0 so the raid controller takes over. Not sure about what is going on with yours saying it is a USB drive. I am also using nforce4 6.70 -
what a ATI 1800xt & AMD 64x2 4400 can do
MonnieRock replied to bflagg's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Gentlemen, Not saying anything negative here about hardware, just the facts about the software. Believe me, I rather the object detail be present around Krasnodar than not have the option to view such a great site. Just we are not there yet with current processors for low level a/g combat in that environment. I made a few missions for a precision strike on AAA and SAM sites placed in the streets of Krasnodar. Tough on the system to say the least. I can not wait to fly my Ka-50 through the city, down each street at 5km/hr to look around. If you really want to see something neat, load up Modman and make a new visibility setting with all the sliders to the right. Then take a cruise around Krasnodar. More objects than you imagined. It's cool !!! -

BFlagg, Take you a trip over to Krasnodar Center and fly around the city...you will see what lock-on can do to a high-spec machine in a flash :p -
Flightsim with dynamic campaign in 1989...
MonnieRock replied to jabog32_zillion's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hello Everyone, Great thread !!! To start off with, I have zero technical background in mission builders, campaingn engines or, programming software. I can only speak as a end-user on these topics. To me Lock-on is a great Simulator to say the least but, it is a mission oriented Simulation. One Misson, complete with pass or fail, then to the next mission. Simulators with a Dynamic Camapign engine seem to be more like a War Simulation. You complete a Mission, and the upcoming missions are dictated by your performance from the prior mission. I will try to explain my thinking in a three examples that are what really holds my attention to a Simulator. 1) You are tasked on a SEAD flight with a group of 4 airframes. You and your flight have completed your ojectives but, have mulitple munitions left over and plenty of fuel. You strike other secondary targets or structures of opportunity. This making a difference in the War and the next mission you are tasked. 2)You are tasked on a SEAD flight with a group of 4 airframes. You and your flight have completed your ojectives but, have mulitple munitions left over and plenty of fuel. You jettison all the weapons and fly back to your base because it makes no difference in the War or your next mission tasked. 3)You are tasked on a SEAD flight with a group of 4 airframes. You and your flight have completed your ojectives but, have mulitple munitions left over and plenty of fuel. You strike other secondary targets or structures of opportunity. But the next mission, briefing, and maps do not show the secondaries destoryed. So, killing just for fun but at the risk of being shot down or receiving damage. So, either we go on like cooking from a cookbook, no deviation from the briefing and strike only the targets that current(before take off) intelligence has offered. Or, you and your flight's skills to observe targets of opportunity, having precision strike capabilites to conserve weapons and fuel, now can add a new dimension to the War. To me, this adds all the difference in single player missions/campaigns if you are to simulate War. If you only want a mission oriented simulator, then why try to have campaign? Also something I would like to add is, Single player is great but, Co-operative multiplayer with both Human and AI flights adds to the entire aspect of the Simulation. From my past experiences, Myself and My Friends will continue to play until the sun comes up if we feel like we are making a difference in the War(Campaign). If we are playing random missions, it is just choosing one from a list and then fly another from a list. Time for bed is what I hear often. Last thing I would like to add because I know you are tired of my opinions is, for the person that created the mission(s) for himself or herself and their friends, you already know what is going to happen. Only way around this is to download missions and not view them in the mission editor and hope they will support the number of flights you need for you and your friends. Thanks, Monnie -
Clouds Texture Corruption with Latest Nvidia Drivers
MonnieRock replied to 's topic in Bugs and Problems
Things always get better if team effort is used. If it becomes a finger pointing match, nothing gets solved. I would think that ED has more pull than the end-user in a matter like this. ED and Nvidia can work together with the technical details of both the game rendering engine and diver releases. Things the end user are not aware of indepth. -

Upgrading for lo-mac; new 64-bit proc and gfx card
MonnieRock replied to pappavis's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello everyone, Evil saw how it scales with the same video card but increasing the cpu overclock that I tested. Facts not fiction Even with my pc running smooth I do not get 120fps in combat with default high settings. And I would consider my system running well. -

Rich, Thank you very much. Will print these out so I can navigate without using the F10 (Map view) while flying. Do not want to rely on the map view as I did not see a switch for it in the cockpit :icon_wink

13 is krasnodar-center or at least when I was in the Su-25T in B3B nav mode, 13 on the bottom right of the hud took me right there.

Carlos73, Thank you very muck. That is exactly what I was looking for. Guess I will have to make me a printed sheet to keep posted in my cockpit(desk). Monnie

Hello Everyone, While flying the Su-25T in the B3B(RTN) nav mode. When you cycle through the airports with the ~ key. Is there any way to tell which airport it is other than distance and heading displayed on the HSI ? Thanks, Monnie
