how far away? what amount of zoom? what was it housed in? Things we do not know. I would betting man, it was not a guy standing there with a cam-recorder on his shoulder checking it out.
-
 I would say the same thing as the guy in the video. I saw a couple of vehicles before the hit. They did not get a direct hit but, I would like to see what they look like now. If there is anything left of them. Maybe the USAF can help me dig my next swimming pool.

zenTera, I am a musician as well that plays multiple instruments. I suggest another solution for your sound interface if you can. When it come to playing back multiple tracks of wav audio and playing in realtime, soundblaster can not cut the mustard. Especially at high sample rates. Use soundblasters just for gaming and your system sounds. I moved to this device which is a firewire interface and never looked back. They have great support and winXP64 drivers out http://www.rme-audio.com/english/firewire/ff800.htm

Is Track IR actually as good as people say?
MonnieRock replied to Cobra360's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am not going back. My TrackiR is here to stay, period. Just makes a game turn into more of a simulator to me. Like you are there. -
As soon as they arrive, I will post the results of the same exact tests which I posted before to compare for everyone

Time is the factor, not the hardware. The hardware does what I tell it to do. Work tells me what to do hehehe

Evil, When I get some time at home away from work, I will set things to default and give it a run for you. Remember, the latest NV drivers support dual core and that is why we see some improvements.

AVI Recorder still (1.11) not working here
MonnieRock replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Bugs and Problems
Bingo, hitting the print screen is not difficult but, getting that image to the web is a different story. I wish you all the luck ZaGuru because, I have not used the avi capture feature in lock-on. Where are you located in Italy? -
Tom, aka zenTera, Only problem I had so far is, I could not update my BIOS with the Asus Auto flash utility. I had to create a DOS bootdisk that contained awdflash.exe and the xxxx.BIN file of the BIOS. That worked fine as wine. Other than that, I have had zero problems and it sounds great. I do not use it for recording music because I have another soundcard interface for that with that said, I use it only for gaming. I have the x-fi xtreme music. There is a long thread at the creative site. might want to spend some time and read over the posts. Some are childish some are valid. What I gather is some of the cards need a firmware update and must be sent back. I am not sure how to comfirm a new card bought has the updated firmware. http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=26289&view=by_date_ascending&page=1 If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Maybe I can help or will try. If you are intersted, this is how these componets perform http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/MonnieRock/Benchmark_5.jpg You are welcome Monnie

AVI Recorder still (1.11) not working here
MonnieRock replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Bugs and Problems
Rugbutt, What is simple to one person , is difficult to others. Maybe this Gentleman is having difficulty capturing a screenshot due to system crash. I learned three things in this thread: 1) Someone says thank you for taking the time and that is not enough. 2) You say you have a solution but, have not shared it with the community. 3) Not to ask you for help because, I would waste your time. You might add something to your "Ten Commandments" style post. On internet forums, you have no idea whom you are speaking with or their background. You could be speaking with a 15 year old young adult that has dreams of being a Military Aviator or a 40 year old person who has their PhD and flight simulation is their release from the real world. zaGURUinzaSKY, There are two gentlemen I suggest you speak with. 1)bSr.L()Csta on this forum 2)Glowing Amraam on the ubi forums Both of these gentlemen have a natural talent for making movies with lock-on. I believe bSr.L()Csta has a very busy career and Glowing Amraam is busy with his schooling. If you can with the best of your abilities of the english language, explain to them your problems in a Private Message. I am sure they have been through the same problems you are having or would be interested in problems/solutions of this nature. My only request is, please come back and share the information you have gathered. -
What the... hoo man!!! What a Su-27 skin!!!
MonnieRock replied to F l a n k e r's topic in DCS Modding
Do these skins work with 1.11? I am looking for high res (2048x2048) skins to replace as many aircraft as possible(USA and Russian) with the default schemes. Kinda like the packs so that I can have them all in place and still fly online and see the high res skins no matter which scheme a player selects. I am not worried about the performace hit as video cards with 512mb of memory are on the way. If anyone is kind enough to guide me in the right direction I would appreciate it I use to use Flankers green nose skin...something of that quality BTW..Great skin Flanker -
AVI Recorder still (1.11) not working here
MonnieRock replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Bugs and Problems
Quote you Rugbutt, Sir: Recently I'm seeing posts that don't apply to what we're trying to accomplish here. The Devs read these forums and actually listen to us, but a minority are posting some really ignorant stuff. We don't need: Posts that insult someones nationality. Alot of the guys here are from different countries than mine. And that fact is completely irrelevant when it comes to flying or interacting with them. The common thing is that we all speak the same language well enough to communicate. I tend to think of them as from Flaming Cliffsland. Half of my buddies here would require me to fly a dozen hours to visit them. Thankfully we have the internet so we can "visit" much easier. We don't need: Posts that discuss war regarding to politics, at least any current conflicts. There are other boards for that, head over to A Complete Waste of Space if you wanna speak freely about anything. These are the LOMAC/FC boards. The only thing that comes from these kinds of posts are locked or hijacked threads. Stop it now! We don't need: Replies to honest questions that are flip, or sarcastic. Stating the obvious is often an insult to the poster. And chances are that if a guy is wearing some kind of squadron tags, he's already tried the obvious. People who are committed enough to join a squadron aren't the casual flyer who doesn't know his way around (a least a little) this sim. It bothers me to no end to see squadron guys who provide servers for all of us to be disrespected in this manner. I don't mean to say that those that aren't in a squadron should be treated worse. I was just using a recent incident and the guy happened to fly with a team. Ya'll have seen me go off half cocked here before, no one is perfect. But jeez!, I try to stay away from stuff that would keep the devs from reading what we have to say. I moderate several boards and once a thread goes stupid, I never visit it again. I've seen great threads started that have been hijacked (or locked) that should have gone the other way. And I almost forgot: Hell has not frozen over. Once in a while I can be serious. What happend to teamwork? There is no " I " in teamwork and your AVI recorder works and others does not. -
Count me in...Super hornet with full avionics suite. Carrier ops..I would pay dearly for that sim. AFM/ADM/both ground and A/A Radar, full weapons suite, with the current or next version of Lock-on graphics, I'd give a $100 USD for that. Until LOMAC came out, Janes F-18 was the only sim I was really flying in depth for years. I miss those days

Ground Radar, LGB's

:icon_wink My girlfriend does as she supports my fight simming hobby(obsession) I taught her how to take off and land on the carrier and she thinks she is hot $hit now with a big grin on her face Olgerd, my my you are up early friday morning
-
That is the spirit
-
Bless you ED.. I want to personally thank you for the attention to detail. Like to shake hands with you!! Those are great pictures of such beautiful aircraft. I would love to be on deck and see as well as hear a Su-33 take off the carrier.
-
I am not scared. Actually, I am anxiously awaiting AFM on the rest of the flyables. If it must only the Russian birds, that would be fine. I dream of non scripted landings( it is kinda fun to slide down the runway in the Su-25T like on ice :icon_wink ) in the figthers as well as load balancing effects after weapons are deployed. It would also be nice because you would have to taxi the figthers for real, not haul a$$ without fear of blowing out a tire. This is the difference I am dreaming of. Challenge to Olgerd: Try to make me affraid :icon_jook
-
What I meant was a re-working of the current cockpits to be rendered like the Ka-50 cockpit. That same level of detail. Not saying clickable, but updated to have the same visual quality. As far as the AFM, all flyables. If it is not possible to get classified data on the US birds, update the Russian birds and get that feel to them.

If I can help in anyway, feel free to ask. If you would like to use a certain track as a guideline, I can enable the load meter and shoot a screen shot. -

MonnieRock replied to a topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Dayglow, Very astute of you. I read that post on the ubi forums as well and noticed a couple of things were said that did not match things on my end. The lastest drivers from Nividia I believe 81.94 ( I am not at home to check) defaulted to AFR in the Lockon.exe profile. So I did my own testing and at least on my system, AFR works much better. I did not get the so called 25% increase using SFR, actually I got less performace with SFR. Onething that I have not been able to resource yet on the nvnews forum but, when I use SLI Anti Aliasing, my profile reverts back to SFR. Not sure if this is a limitation of the hardware/software for my cards. In a nutshell, I am happy with the performance. AMD needs to hurry up and put out about a 3.5 ghz processor and all will be good. Lock-on then would really test my video cards. I am anxiously awaiting to see how things work out once the 512's are delivered. I will run the exact test to compare if you are interested. I expect the min fps will stay the same, my average up a little as well as the max or the same results with increased AA. Can not go up on the AF anymore. I remember the days when AF really had a performance hit but, seems like that is not a problem anymore. I know one thing, all the flares and smoke rendered during the Super Su-27 track still gives a hit on my system. You are a sharp guy Dayglow, what is rendering those or why is it so difficult to process? -
I was thinking, Even a rock from ground zero would be enough to kill you at 30meters. It would be a deadly object. Seriously, will this or has this been identified for improvement in upcoming versions of lock-on?
