Hi Durei, Could you please share the ticket number with me? If you don’t have one, please send me your email address via DM. I’ll take a look at your case and urge the team to sort it out promptly. There are plenty of setup guides available, but most users usually start with Tallymouse’s video and then tweak based on their preferences: https://youtu.be/Yt6MJMyte3Y?si=wb3fre1hx-G-9Lb5

Have you tried tweaking the contrast and local dimming? Is the blown-out effect still being too annoying?
-
Also, there will be a patch rolling out around mid-October that optimizes pi_server’s CPU utilization.
-
Hi Ben, The IR lights around the lenses are not active, which is normal for the Crystal Light. This model doesn’t include eye-tracking, so it only supports fixed foveated rendering.

Have you updated to the latest version of DCS? I spoke with one of their team members, and they mentioned there was a known issue recently that caused crashes in Pimax when secondary shadows were enabled. I’m not sure if this is the same error you’ve encountered, but I’ve forwarded the two codes to them and am waiting for feedback from their tech support.
-
Yes, I’ve tried the demo — it’s much better than the current version.
-
@BIGNEWY Could you provide some insights into these error codes?
-
Noted. The crash is headset being disconnected or the game freezes up?
-
We do have the built-in QV and OpenXR runtime, so running DCS is absolutely fine. Share the ticket# with me if you didn't hear from our tech team. Have you watched Tallymouse’s DCS setup guide? If not, check it out — it’s super useful for new upgrade users. Or this:

The drawback is that apps will still run in the background. If you’re in controllerless mode, try holding the Volume + button to exit the overlay.
-
Hi, Glad to hear you finally had some fun with it! If the issue happens again, please ping me and share the ticket number. I’ll review it with the support team and make sure they provide further assistance.
-
We haven’t made many changes to the headset firmware or the client. What if you roll back to version 1.41.2v? Does the issue still persist?
-
Let me know if the shortcut key doesn’t work after you enable “controllerless mode.”
-
Using Desktop View might be the current solution while the headset is on.

Noted. It could be a driver issue, but we need to run tests before saying for sure
-
Could you please share your Pimax Play, DCS, and Nvidia Control Panel settings with me? I’ll have the team replicate your configuration and test whether the headset experiences blackouts during a session. Also, before this issue started, did you perform any updates (driver, client, or other software)?
-
Yes, you can roll back to an earlier version of Pimax Play at any time. However, rolling back the headset firmware must be done remotely by our technical support team.
-
Check the answer by MadMonty, but one of our DCS users reported that swirls occur when QV is activated.
-
Is Pimax Play showing that the headset is disconnected? Do you recall the color of the light near the power button?
-
Have you reached out to our support team or submitted the log file via this form?
-
Dear all, We’re collecting information from Pimax users experiencing CPU or GPU spikes (high load) during VR sessions. Your input will help our engineers identify the cause and improve performance. Please fill out this short form with your system information, headset details, and the game(s) you were playing when the issue occurred. You must also attach log files from Pimax Play.
