  1. Just did an ILS landing....man this sim is great. Mike
  2. Oh, I got it, LOL, watched videos a few more times. This sim is so much fun. Mike
  3. Glad to read this tread, I had a different thread with same issue, I was following the Chuck's Guide steps and got in consistent Mark Point functioning. Its a steep learning curve but you fall right off the curve when the program is not quite right. I keep trying to learn. It's fun. Mike
  4. Sorry, did not save one. I'll work it out, must be just doing something wrong. :).... I was able to place a few mark points that appeared to stay grounded, I think I had to push the Target Designation button up once more? Mike
  5. Hello, I am trying to learn how to use TDOS with HMCS to drop bombs. When I designate a target with the HMCS the spot shows as a target designation box, but by the time I turn the plane around to make a run at the target, the TD box is gone. What am I doing wrong? I was able to set a TD Box on a spot, then note that the Targeting Pod was slaving to that point and actually was able to fine tune the target with the radar control curser, but then when I came around to make the bomb run the target was no longer in the spot I set. It drifts.....a long way.... Learning Curve is High, but still very fun to fly. Mike
  6. Found it. Setting in SimAppPro does it. very happy now
  7. Perhaps it is just my setup. With the multiple USB monitors set up, windows does not recall the settings I make after a reboot. Is there a trick to this??? Winwing USB Display and MFD x 3. Asus 4 k monitor old school Benq monitor cerca 1999 (still works, don't laugh, much) Asus 4070 ti video card Thank you. Mike
  8. Oh, found Monitorian program that lets you INCREASE Brightness of USB monitors. It's about 10 percent brighter, but it does help. Downside, only lets you work with 4 monitors and I have 5. Not sure how to FORCE windows to let me number them so I can force Monitorian just adjust the ones I want. Mike

LMAO. we can hope at least. LOL. Don't sweat the small things....the software is pretty much free compared to other 'games. Mike

Thanks, I had already found that thread. Seems like a pain. I can live with the dimmer displays until the fix comes out..... I did get things working better after changing around a few USB ports. I was having issues with Track IR and my mouse. I moved the Mouse plug in Dongle to the back of my keyboard and the Track IR plug to the back of the main motherboard USB instead of my powered strip. So far works properly. DCS crashed a few times while I was saving control settings and today the Right and LEFT MFD's were swapped. I figured out how to export JUST the MFD profiles and named them accordingly so if DCS does this again I can at least just restore them in my main config file. I wish the MFD's were named differently than the long serial number thing LOL. I don't have enough knowledge of USB's to know when I am 'maxing them out' with all the devices plugged in from a communication standpoint, not the power supply standpoint. Clearly there is a 'best sequence' to plug things in giving priority to more important input devices. Mike
  11. Read the posts, watch the video, all I have to say is ARRRRGGGG......more WORK.....This Sim is WORK LOL. Just set up my MFD and Displays and found this issue with Targeting pod. Come on DCS coders......you ....can .....do .....it.... Mike
  12. Man< I wish I read this before buy the displays LOL. Not being able to see the Target Pod image on the mini display is very dissappointing. Mike

Wow, easy to set up. I just have to deal with some gremlins. Track IR keeps cutting out. While configuring controls DCS crashed a few times. But it works. I got the buttons set up. One question: the brightness of the mini display does not match the display in the plane. With the Weapon Pod the image is very dim. I have to figure that out. But the setup is very nice. Mike

Thanks for the posting. My display panels are inbound.....I originally set up just using Thrustmaster MFD panels and they work very well and are only $80, then added the ICP from winwing and the obsession started, so I really wanted the mini displays. LOL. I bought the F18 but have not flown it yet, as I am concentrating on the F16. Mike
  15. Draconus, I tried that LOL. If I pushed the expected key, they guy still drones on with the text.....I'll try the Lctrl+Z thing. Thanks Mike
  16. Hi, I have been trying to use Tacview...but it's only record the first few minutes of a flight. How long do you need to wait before exiting a mission to have the program finish saving all the flight data? Is there some indication when it's 'caught up?' Mike
  17. Love the sim. So much so I am buying WinWing stuff. When using the training modules, it would be nice to be able to go through the spoken words faster the second or third time, so you can get to the meat of the tutorial. I usually have to do the training modules several times or more and it's a drag to listen to the dialogue over and over just to get to the 1 minute component which is the meat of that tutorial. I set up a 'mission' which starts my F16 2 miles out of an air strip at 2000 feet, 250 knots, lined up with runway to practice the hard part of landing, the actual landing. This was very helpful. Having to go through the training module to approach and line up is obviously necessary but the final approach is where you get killed. This was very helpful for me. Mike
  18. They get their canopy tinted by the local garage. As long as the State Troopers don't catch you, you can tint the windows quite dark. Makes it a pain for the other drivers to see your head position, but screw them, I just hit them with Chaff if they beep at me in traffic. Mike
  19. Thank you. I updated my drivers for the video and it has not happened again. The new driver version is only ? month newer? Odd...... I first suspected the power settings, they have been set for max performance. I like to run full power...LOL....windows will switch refresh rate to 'save energy' and that could have been the culprit. Never know for sure. So what ever it was has stopped being a bugger. This sim is so great though......learning curve is huge. Thanks for you input. Mike
  20. Enjoying DCS very much. I just added Tacview and also SRS (I have not gotten a headset yet). Today while both playing solo and on an online server, I noted that both screens ( second monitor being used for other aps, TrackIR status, etc) would go black for about 2 to 3 seconds. I did a google search and also searched here. I am running Windows 11, Asus 4070ti, m.2 SSD's, Ryzen 5, 4k Monitor, 128 GIG RAM, etc..... I have the max resolution set. This never happened when playing DCS until today when I installed both Tacview and SRS, so I am not sure which is the culprit. I did get Tacview working and could review missions although I am not sure it is recording the entire mission time, a different thread for sure (I briefly read that you have to wait some time before leaving a server for it to save?). Any thoughts? Mike
