  1. 'doh figured it out last night. I was trying to figure out where the targeting pod was looking when I was lining up to drop bombs with CCIP. Of course it's looking at the projected target. LOL. Now it all makes sense. Mike
  2. Bump....any new intelligence on this issue????? particularly the Range Adjustment wheel. too slow. Mike
  3. ran it again, worked fine, startup using Autostart messes up the Data Link. I found that if I did the start up myself, and waited for INS to fully sync, the data link worked properly and the position was correct on the HAD. Just wish I had time to align the helmet mounted cue system as that is off at at startup, when I am looking at other planes, the circle around the plane does not align with the plane. Small issue. Mike
  4. This worked for me, only issue, when I was using the Autostart cheat, I was able to be ready and not get yelled at for not taking off soon enough, Tonight I did mission 3 and started the plane without an aids, it was hard to get all the items done in time to take off before the warning, however the data link works. LOL. You can't turn on the data link until the INS is fully aligned. Also, there is not enough time on the ground to take a minute to align the helm mounted cue system, I'll just have to get faster. I got the mission completed but was hit by something, the plane was damaged and just before STGP 7 my flight controls when out and I crashed LMAO. Mike
  5. I am trying to fine tune things with the WinWing Orion 2 Throttle with F16 grip. The response time on the knobs (brightness for Helmont mounted display, etc) is pretty slow. I did change some of the settings in the SimAppro app. But the Man RNG is not great for response time, for the mean time I am using one of the slider on the base for Zoom and the other for Man RNG to zoom on the Target pod. The knob is "meh" So what are the best settings? Thanks Mike
  6. read thread again, had to set the Idle switches, works great, just working on the quirkiness of the knob for the TGP zoom and Antena elevation. more reading on that.... great forum. Mike
  7. Just ran Mission 3. I got to SP 3 and ready to head to next part (no spooler), but my plane's relative position on the HAD did not change. Very odd. I did at least get the Data Link to show my flight, once I was past SP2 it just came on. AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH. I'll try again next week. Mike
  8. The Skywalker Pedals I received have a different base than those shown online. A large flat metal plate. It did not include a no slip mat. A large box (logitech Yoke (never even opened the box) with a 10 inch wide 1 inch pine board on the floor holding the base of the Skywalker solidly in place. Now I have to retrain my feet to use the more realistic pedals properly. Heals on the floor unless I am landing and need the brakes I guess. LOL. Today I had a little time so I spent it cleaning up my setup, repacking my Logitech gear, getting rid of some excess junk and cleaned up the wires. I made some custom labels for the Throttle and Take Off Panel. Work in progress. I hope to have a few hours on Thursday to attempt FIWOS Mission 3 with my new setup. Mike
  9. First Draft. but functional. Mike
  10. Tried in single player campaign FIWOS. it’s likely disabled. LOL.
  11. Active pause did not work for me.
  12. I must have done something wrong, I plugged in the throttle and the Off position and AB were dead balls on. LOL. Lucky I guess. Now the rest of the buttons had to be programed. I am working on overlays for the switches so I can relabel some for what I want. (Battery off, Gen, Engine) Auto start stop, since I have brake on the Take off panel. Mike
  13. Box against wall, block of wood between box and pedal base. Works great. Mike
  14. Stick and Throttle mounted. No issues with mounting holes on either. I placed a screw in the metal slot on the Throttle and it lined up with the mounting plate on my support just right. Lucked out I guess. I have this mounting bracket. https://a.co/d/hGFHaxP I spent some time assigning buttons and such. The joystick out of the box was already assigned, but the throttle needed some work. So far very good. I was surprised at the range of motion on the joystick (not much range of motion) Mike
  15. This thread made me smile. I have a Logitech pedal set and I used a few boxes between the wall and my pedals to keep it in place.. I was going to cut a piece of wood like above, but the boxes work fine so I did not bother. I'll do the same with the Skywalker pedals. Mike
  16. I don't have a 3D printer......can you print one for me and ship it?...My throttle arrives tomorrow and I had watched several reviews about the orion throttle. Mike
  17. Good info on this thread, my throttle/stick and pedals arrive tomorrow. Mike
  18. Got thought Mission 2 at last, not on Immortal, got 100. Mike
  19. Thanks, I am waiting for a solution to this Data link not working (at all). I tried again yesterday and got 2 SA8's, and a FC, then got hit LOL. Playing Sim when I am on call for Trauma is more challenging because of the beeper LOL. Trying again later today. I have to mow.....my Yard Work Simulator. Mike
  20. Somehow I finished this mission before (6 months ago) but cannot for the life of me duplicate my victory. I have a question about the HAD. If I get PGM2, and select a target on the HAD, then swap to TGP, how close to the actual target should I expect the camera to be pointing? I am having a bitch of a time picking out the FC radar or SA8 with the TGP. Once I do find the target, I have no problem launching a missile at it. My issue is finding the targets. Does the Data link have any input in helping you find the target via HAD -- TGP? Because I cannot get the Datalink to work no matter what I try. It used to work. Mike
  21. CRAP I did not know about the Active Pause, looked for it before, wrong search terms I guess. I did find the slow down and speed up, that comes in very handy as going away from a target and turning around and heading back in toward a target is a drag. Active Pause. That will make finding the friggen targets easier LOL. Is it cheating? Not any more than ZOOMING Mike
  22. The DL has not worked for me since the update I did several weeks ago. It had been working from day one when I first started using FIWOS. I tried the above work around without success. So flying without it. I have to get back to where I can actually fly this thing after 6 months away. Anyway once you get to the heart of the mission, the incoming bombers cannot be seen on the data link either. Mike
  23. Confirmed. “Disable Hot Plug” fixed issue “good enough.” The Disconnects are brief without loss of function in combat. Data link still out. But at least I can fly the mission.
  24. Hot Plug disabled. Still BRIEFLY disconnected but Reconnected immediately and the controllers still worked. That is different and better. Before when they disconnected I got messages in DCS “winwing disconnect” and the controllers would be off and the mini screens IN THE GAME DISPLAY in the cockpit would be off along with the USB displays Tell me that’s not nuts. Tonight I Ran if briefly ( bbq dinner time) and it worked and did as above. But could continue mission. In also using a wired mouse with usb dongle for wireless mouse unplugged. That did not seem to do much as the disconnect still happed. disable hot plug may be the answer. more testing later. Mike.
