They don't sell those to end users or retail unfortunately...

What is your price range and future plans? Basically, the cheaper you go the more often you'll need a replacement or figure out you should have spent a little more to be completely satisfied. Three years ago I spent a lot of money on a Kitty and it has yet to fail but once aside from preventative maintenance. A year later I got a second one, then a third and between them all I've put in a small fortune of high end parts. That's not the point, but rather that I cannot think of anything I'd rather ever use again... Regardless of what you choose, get a HOTAS setup with rudders! I've put in some serious $$, but I would never trade my Cougar for anything else!!! You don't need to drop everything into it at once, but over time you'll want to given the comminuty and skilled people making mods. Stock parts are under warranty for two years and nowadays they are quicker in responding and sending replacement parts as well, should the need arise. Also, there are many tweaks and tips to improve your stock stick without spending a lot of $$ at http://cougar.frugalsworld.com/index.php

Good summary of FAQ! -
Great! If I had to pick, I'd go with the FSSB... but both the NXT and FSSB are awesome! The FSSB is virtually mx free. Has no moving parts and if you've got a home built pit that you can mount it in, you can set the pressure to 25 lbs in the y-axis and 17 lbs in the x-axis, just like the real Viper. It's also very precise, as you can see from the screenshot of the analyzer here.

Very well done! Love the music and it matched the aerial demo! While the flying might not "excite" as much as some hope, it matches the flow of the movie well. Only complaint from my end is the overuse of "Strato Cam" (almost becomes a crutch for the movie), but otherwise very nicely done!

Join the Virtual Thunderbirds Ventrilo and dedicated server sometime and I'll show you how it's done... even in the middle of a loop if you would like!!! ;)

My two kitties! :joystick: Love 'em both... but together, they've cost more than $1,000 in mods alone! NXT with Hall Sensors, metal Speedbrake & Dogfight switch casings... FSSB (R2 - exchanged since I had the plate engraved with R1), also with metal casings...

Agreed! Quoting the source always help. I smell major BS in the Raptor rumor... ;)

Presently (for top of the line), nVidia and Intel cannot be beat! However, that could quickly change again... ;) The 7-series nVidia cards whoop butt against the same generation ATI cards in benchmark tests!

F-16 Ride Along during Lockheed Martin Demo

Dale Earnhardt Jr is the driver of the #8 car in Nascar and son of late Dale Earnhardt Sr (who crashed and died in the last corner of the Daytona 500, 2001 - at the time I lived in the city). Not too bad for not wearing any "speed jeans" (Blue Angel style) and pulling a sustained 7.6G turn, immelmann and Split S!!! -

Having recently had two of my cars involved in accidents (I, myself not in them at the time however), but other friends/fiance in the cars whip-lashed and injured, I wish you the best in recovery! LOMAC and all other things can wait and will still be there when you get better... Here's to a speedy recovery USSR_Gys!

Who plays online and who does not.
LawnDart replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
No problem, but it's a very poorly worded question: "Who plays online AND who does not?" (yes or no). Clearly what the oroginal poster intended was "Do you play online?" otherwise it could be interpreted as: Who plays online and who does not? (depending on how the reader sees it). If I do not play online, I could answer "yes"... and if I do, I could also answer "yes". See my point? Hopefully the next time this poster creates a poll question, the answers would reflect a more clear answer to the statement. That's all I wanted to point out, but I'm pretty sure everyone got what the intent was regardless of how badly the question was worded! :smilewink: Percentage wise doesn't make any difference, that's just extraneous information... -
Same link... but that's what we use too!

Ultra High Definition Movie: Pougachev’s Cobra
LawnDart replied to TucksonSonny's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Wouldn't say it's the first (Ultra) HD... our "Smoke On" trailer, released 5 months ago in October was in 1080p and the movie 720p (due to its size), both can be found at our website. None the less, if you can keep the res high, bitrate high and squeeze in 30 fps it will look good! For future projects I'm planning on 1920x1080 res, bitrate dependant on the net speed and at least 30 fps in WMV HD... Downloading the vid now...:) -

The poll question is poorly worded woudn't you say?!? "Who plays online and who does not?" ...It's easy to understand the intent of the poll creator, but how does one answer 'yes' or 'no' to that? "Do you not play online or do you play online" answer yes or no please!!! LMAO! :megalol: 99% of my flying is online! -
For all that play lockon in widescreen format
LawnDart replied to Nate Dogg's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Second that! Half of our team now runs the sim on either a big LCD or projector. 4 out of 10 guys have 1920x1080 screens... If you run down to the local computer dealer, there are more widescreens on the shelves than 4:3 screens now too! To neglect widescreen support would be a sin! :smilewink: -
For all that play lockon in widescreen format
LawnDart replied to Nate Dogg's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
They are very much correct my friend! Simple math... 1024/640=1.6 (1680/1050=1.6). Same aspect ratio. I just downsized the screenies so they wouldn't have to cover the entire forum page. Same with the other shot... 1024/819=1.25 (1280/1024=1.25). Again, same aspect ratio. What you are referring to in your other post is exactly what is happening in the shots above. It crops the top and bottom off, if the same level of zoom is used and/or the FOV limits aren't changed. So much for true widescreen... bah! -
For all that play lockon in widescreen format
LawnDart replied to Nate Dogg's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Just divide the width and the height of the screen pixels and the number will be 1.25... (In LOMAC you have to set this number in the graphics.cfg gile in addition to changing the video options, otherwise it assumes a 4:3 (1.33 AR) ratio and will stretch or contract the image... Some examples... AR 1.25 = 5:4 ratio. (1280 x 1024 res) AR 1.33 = 4:3 ratio. (1024 x 768 res) AR 1.6 = 8:5 ratio. (1680 x 1050 res) So, back to the question about FOV... If increased, it will allow you to zoom back further and thereby gaining back some of the lost view (cropped top and bottom), but it also creates a "fish-eye" effect. Is there any way to simply widen the viewable screen with a widescreen and not have fish-eye effects or bent outer edges of the view? Using default zoom has very little of this "warping", but then you're stuck with the snipped off top and bottom instead... It's about time some developers started making games more widescreen friendly since everyone is buying them nowadays!
