  1. Incredible. DCS just gets better and better. Thanks for all your hard work!
  2. That makes sense, but why on the Afghanistan map was I able to talk to the tanker on Jester's frequency, whilst still having COMM CMD in the front? I double checked and I was on a completely different frequency.
  3. Hi all, Hopefully someone can help me understand some issues I'm having with the radio. I've been practicing the 'Landing in Clear Weather' mission from @Dallatorre's Phantom Proficiency tutorials. The mission requires me to tune into Kobuleti Approach on 262mhz. I ask Jester to do this for me, then contact Approach, but I get no response. I realise I have to give Jester COMM CMD to use the frequency he's tuned, which makes sense, but why didn't he take comms control when tuning the frequency? Is this something that would be set in the mission itself somehow or is this a procedural 'bug' in the module? Then in free flight in Afghanistan, I ask Jester to tune to the KC-135 Tanker on 251mhz, which he does, but now, I CAN contact the tanker for refuel whilst having COMM CMD on a different frequency (I assume, as it's on preset). So basically it seems there's no consistency in how to use the radio correctly. Is there something I'm missing here? -- And final question: I get automatically handed off the the Tower frequency in the landing mission without Jester or myself tuning into 133mhz. Is this just a DCS thing for easier gameplay? Cheers all,
  4. Had this exact problem. Looking forward to testing it out at the weekend!
  5. Can't wait to try this at the weekend. I've been practicing the standard landing pattern and either been dropping out of the sky on final or gain too much altitude and need to go around. (a straight in landing with flare seems to be ok though) Obviously mainly a skill issue, but hopefully this will help!
  6. If I hadn't got the F-14 and F-16 lined up behind the F-4, I'd be all over this. Loved the MiG-29 as a kid
  7. Well whadda ya know. You can click anywhere in the centre! I guess the little notch the BACK text sits in made me think that was the hit box. Oh, I'll have to try that out. It does tend to fly around quite a lot. Cheers!
  8. Hi HB, I'm really loving the head tracking control of the Jester menu. Unfortunately, the back button is so small in the wheel, it's difficult to get my head to stay on it long enough to click it with the Jester context on my throttle. Then I have to either flip to my mouse or keyboard, halting the flow and slowing things up. What about tweaking it so the whole centre is the back button, something like this?: Hopefully you'll consider it, as it would improve usability massively imo. Many thanks, Tim
  9. I don’t know why you wouldn’t put them in. They’d be a focus, surely? In the same way that Ugra put all that detail into all the cities in the Germany map, you could do the same for all the sand sculpted pillars and mountains. I doubt polycount would be an issue.
  10. Other jets involved in the conflict: MiG-23, Su-22, Mirage 5 and Sepecat Jaguar (according to ChatGPT)
  11. So I’m guessing by now you’ve all seen the incredible 1980s Mirage low level flying footage filmed in Chad on YouTube: I was thinking this would make an excellent map, with all the Cold War jets in the region during Operation Épervier. I know that it’s another ‘sand map’, but I think the unique landscape would bring a different vibe to the table. I mean just look at those mountains! Anyway, just my thoughts. Be interested to hear others views.
  12. Are there any built in missions/campaigns or are we waiting on @Reflected ? To be honest, I'll probably hold fire on this until I've finished MiG Killers and Red Flag 81-2. At least then I'd be half handy in multiplayer if campaigns weren't forthcoming.
  13. It was a comment on the original manufacturer of the buttons.
  14. Wow, went to the cheapest bidder on those buttons then!
  15. Hi all. What are these wires about, criss-crossing the air combat manoeuvre panel here: null Finally bugged me enough to ask
  16. Did this miss the latest update? Wasn't in the changelog.
  17. Hi HB, I just watched Diesel Thunder's latest Germany video using a cart start and noticed there was no smoke. Is this something you'll be adding to cartridge starts in the future? I read in the manual that pilots would close the canopy so they weren't overcome by fumes. Could be cool to add a hypoxia-like affect if you forgot to close it. Cheers,
  18. Damn, I've just found @Monkman911's thread on the Winwing Orion 2 default deadzone being massive. I thought the default was zero. Thanks @Dragon1-1 and @Monkman911. Hopefully this helps thread the needle!
  19. Congratulations! Any more tips for us mere mortals? I’ve managed to get connected for about five seconds after spending half an hour trying to get lined up. Even the tiniest throttle movements seem to be too much! I’ve taken to splitting the throttles, but still over/under shooting annoyingly. Maybe just more practice…
  20. It would be great if there was a 'spotlight' translation, where only the area you were looking directly at was translated into your native language.
  21. This is great, thank you. I also usually have those kneeboards on a second monitor. You can grab them here.
  22. I was really surprised how tiny and crammed the cockpit actually is in there. The instruments would probably feel quite far forward irl.
  23. Just a couple of things: TAS is only really used for navigation, so not a big deal to plop on the autopilot and zoom in if you need. As for the ASI, even if you can’t see the actual numbers on the knots indicator inside the Mach scale, you should be able to see the bold 50/100 knot markers. So once you’re below 300 knots for landing say, then it’s straightforward to glance down and know how fast you’re going pretty quickly. At least that’s what works for me. When I started flying the F-4, I didn’t even notice the knots indicator inside the Mach scale, so I was having the same issues trying to see the TAS, tucked away as it is.
