I run mine at speed 1.0, smoothness 40 Adjusted the Pitch, Roll and Yaw axis to the Deadzone curve. Adjusted the X,Y and Z axis to the Smooth curve. Reset the Smoothness in Precision mode to 200. Fairly stable now, but still tweaking from time to time. Remapped the function keys to ALT-F12, ALT-F9 and ALT-F7 and mapped those in turn to the lower G-keys of my G15 keyboard for easy one-button access.

Sorry to necro a thread like this, but it might be better than starting anew, so we keep al relevant info in one thread; Has anyone managed to get the slew sensitivity down yet using the WH ministick?

The external frame limiter app is a define 'YMMV' solution as well. Some users claim to have a huge benefit from using it, others don't. I am in camp 2. There is absolutely no change in performance for me when either using or not using the external frame limiter program. The best tip is given above; http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html Go there, upload your current fsx.cfg and see what the script tells you. I got a decent increase in performance from this. Also, the mesh, texture detail and mesh resolution sliders don't seem to affect my system either. I can either fly with them fully maxed out or at the lowest setting; there is no difference in framerate. The water setting does affect framrate, though, as does the autogen and traffic sliders. Bloom is also a performance hog. MTFDarkEagle once posted here that he was able to get stellar performance out of FSX, you only needed to configure it correctly. I have tried to contact him via PM, but he does not reply. Perhaps he will chime in here.

HI Adam! Welcome to A-10! A lot of good tips have already been given above so ill just stick with the welcome. :-)

In the real bird, depending on weight, you can get rolling by approximatly 30% N1 with a decent passenger load and once it reaches about 15kts groundspeed it can sustain itself in idle thrust. It seems about right in NGX too.

Radar Contact 4 is indeed nice, but it has a very American ATC type, which is somewhat different in procedures and phraseology than the European ATC, still its much better than the stock FS ATC or when you can't or won't come online with VATSIM/IVAO. Another cool thing I did with the 737NGX and the WH is to configure the throttle in such a way that when you pull up on the stick and backwards from idle (e.g. the fuel cutoff in DCS A-10C) it engages the thrust reverser in the 737NGX making it a somewhat realistic thrust reverser handling. The reverser will cutoff again if you push back the stick to idle and give a tiny notch of thrust, but for convenience I have configured the (A-10) speedbrake switch on the throttle to 'Thrust Cut' in FS, so you can kill the reverser with a click. It's sometimes a bit of a chore to get them out of the detent once they are in on the throttle, so this is a nice solution. Other functions I have mapped are speedbrake ARM, speedbrack manual deploy (pinky switch backwards), TO/GA switch, Autopilot engage/disengage, Autothrottle ARM, Speed selector switch, Heading selector switch, Trim and Flaps. Truely 'hands off keyboard' flying and a total joy! Just thought I would share that. If you want more info on how to get it right (it's really simple!) just drop a note. The cool thing is that you can map ALL switches on the throttle in FS directly.

As far as I can see we did get an updated manual with 1.1.0.9, like cichlidfan, I have a newer version manual on my HDD as well.

Like I said in a previous post, I was curious how this aircraft would relate to its real life counterpart and I must say I am impressed! I fly it with the TM Warthog, so that's not entirely realistic, but at least it gives me very precise input. The thrust handling is very nice in the sim, eventhough it feels like there is less travel needed in the sim than in real life, but that's also a hardware thing (travel of the WH thrust unit vs the real thrust levers on the aircraft). As also seen in the video's from Nick, the sim is a joy to hand fly. Very stable and gentle, which has been a problem with many aircraft in the past versions of FS. There is a nice tweak guide provided in the 'PMDG Introduction' manual and you should follow it. It gave me even more performance than I already had in FS. I am amazed at how many configuration options you have to configure the avionics suite just like the real thing we are flying at work. It's truely 1:1. Also very handy that you can tweak stuff on the fly via the FMC menu. Speeds, thrust settings, roll rate... what can I say? They all seem pretty close to the real thing so far! I can go through my normal procedures I use at work to set the aircraft up and each and every switch does exactly like it should do. Marvellous! It's the DCS of civil sims, for sure. Truely raising the bar! I can see me using the 737NGX for procedural training purposes, no doubt!

No I went to bed at 01:30am last night and woke just now to see that it has been taken offline due to attacks. From what I gather they initially released at 05:30am my time, so I am glad I went to bed. ;) Now its waiting for it to come up again. A few people had been able to get it before the mayhem started, but most either have problems with their order now and need support to solve it because they ordered while the attack took place or others had no chance to get their orders in yet. It's another waiting game, today! :)

Oh you misunderstood me there, CrashEd. ;) My remark was a figure of speech.

I have all the manuals I need as well and it didn't cost me a penny! ;) Can't argue about that price, can you? I am eager to see how well NGX performs alongside Boeing's official manuals. Still no word about release, though.

Wow, I fly the 737NG in real life and I am awestruck with what these guys are showing for the 737NGX for FSX! Great, great job!

I am a SW fan, moreso than Star Trek. I did a day one purchase of STO, so there is no doubt SWTOR will be one too. :) Those trailers are indeed very high quality! One thing, though, the 'cartoony' graphics are quite the shock for some, after seeing the trailers. I personally wish they would have gone for a little more realism in their game graphics, but the current style is definately somthing I can get used to.

Thanks again, guys. WarriorX, doesn't your suggestion lack a power supply? I thought most people here would vote against unpowered hubs? -

Thanks for the feedback so far guys! Krebs point was exactly why I started this thread. Could we please have some models listed here which qualify? -
I am planning on getting the TS MFD panels, but that means that I will be short on USB ports with all the other hardware I am running. So I was wondering wether you guys have any tips for good gaming-proof USB 2.0 hubs. Links would be appreciated if you post a tip, please. Get them in, lads! :joystick:

A real man knits his own gloves. -
Yeah, but I have so many games to play and so little time.... :S

Hah the memories! I got MW 2 and its expansion packs, but only got to play it a few years after release, because just like Rusty my PC wasn't up to it. :P I still have all the manuals right here. Those were the days where games came with nice big manuals full of fluff and background info. Anyway, I can't comment either, because I do not have Crysis WH, and therefore never played Living Legends. (see a pattern here? ;) )
-
Yes it's been developed by some serious Battletech enthousiasts! I don't own Crysis so I havent been able to check out the mod yet. I am a huge MW fan though, and with the new MW game having dropped below the radar, this is closest we get to a modern iteration of a MW game for now...

Slack on TM HOTAS Warthog?
Yskonyn replied to LostOblivion's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Great news! Thrustmaster support is quite good and from the look of the posting dates of you post it seems rather quickly solved as well. Now get into the pit and throw some abuse at it! ;) -
I have re-discovered ArmA 2 lately and I must say (now that my PC can actually run it) I am very much enjoying myself. Going through the original ArmA 2 campaign at the moment and having lots of fun. No mods.

Highly recommend this as a good tactical wargame, but it's not for the Starcraft click-fest type of strategy gamers. Conducting assaults requires careful planning and this game portrays many things quite realistically. Also there is no base building or unit production. Just so you know. It's a hardcore tactical wargame. I have been fan of the CM games since CM Barbarossa to Berlin. If you like realistic ww2 wargames, be sure to check this out.
