  1. They did ok in my campaign, but again, it's only two aircraft per flight. That's not many even if they are Hornets. That's why it's important to stack the deck in your favor with multiple flights doing the most important task of a mission.
  2. One of the basic keys to winning the campaign is that the player should take the most important task of a mission. Leave the AI flights to the supporting roles. Also, a mindset change from the usual dcs air quake/me against the world one is needed. You're part of a team working together to accomplish an objective. Per irl, have overwhelming power at the point of the mission. Don't dilute your resources on multi-tasking missions, one flight doing this, one doing that, etc.. That just increases the chance that none will be successful. I.e., If cas is needed, have at least three flights doing it. Same for any other mission. It's only two aircraft per flight.
  3. The most underrated campaign on the site. Highly recommended.
  4. The campaign is very winnable. I recently completed it in ten missions with little difficulty.
  5. I too have noticed trying to do the countermeasures programming in the jet is a mess. Nothing I set in the manual 1 slot saves, the game just releases the default setting regardless. Used to work as it should until one of the recent updates.
  6. I'm a long time F4/BMS player, so the mission planning aspect isn't new (and something sorely needed in dcs).
  7. Finished Flaming Sunrise with a victory in ten missions. Good stuff, thanks again.
  8. Eagerly looking forward to this. Flaming Sunrise seems to be vastly under appreciated. Really like the improvements you did compared to Pontus. The planning aspect is great and easily done, and something sorely needed in dcs campaigns. Head and shoulders above the scripted ones. Seems that most dcs players prefer an "instant action, air quake" experience so maybe that explains why Sunrise isn't on the radar as much.
  9. I'm retired, so no problem timewise
  10. I've been enjoying Flaming Sunrise lately. Outstanding work, thanks for the effort. Really like the planning, etc. aspect, much more enjoyable than the scripted campaigns. I'd like to make something like this myself, when does the instruction manual come out, ha!
  11. Ok thanks, yes, I meant Flaming Sunrise.
  12. Fun campaign. Question; what program do you use to create the briefing slides?
  13. Is your previous campaign still useable or has ED updates broken it?
  14. Ok, thanks. Strange. I'll try it again when I get the chance.
  15. No problem, appreciate the reply. The laser gbu was actually in another campaign, not yours. Understood about how ED makes things difficult.
  16. Ok thanks. Where was the elevation info. hidden at?
  17. Ok, thanks for the help.
  18. I have tried it three times and each time the flir is nowhere near the target. But are you saying it is best to designate the "stock" waypoint 6 lat/long and not input the coordinates listed in the kneeboards? Each time I've tried is via the kneeboard info.
  19. Mission 4 problem. I input the lat/long mentioned for Golf in the kneeboards and nothing is there via the flir. Searched all around with the flir, nothing to be seen. Way point is designated a target steer point. Flir contrast, etc. adjusted. Only mod installed is tacview. I see plenty of ground and roads, but no buildings, etc. of any kind anywhere for miles around. Ideas? Broken in an update? Edit: The lat/long info. in the briefing sheet for Golf is wrong, by a large distance. Very frustrating. I got these from a flir of a youtube video of the mission and they are correct N 35 14 19 E 39 19 06 Elevation 1306 The briefing lists N 35 34 17 E 39 19 05 No elevation given.
  20. Yes, as the currently released version is not worth using with its minimal features.
  21. Agreed, so many of the various campaigns have a mission or more this way. Make something completely unrealistic just to (I guess) make it harder and/or more "fun and exciting". Frustrating is more accurate. One of my favorites calls for a laser guided bomb delivery.......................with a dense cloud layer at 10k feet forcing the player below it where they get riddled by shorads and aaa.
