  1. Yeah, the first thing i do is look up if something runs automatically when it's not needed, same for services.
  2. It fell right on the tip of a corner from max 2cm height. Because my local supplier doesn't sell them i looked at the be quiet! website where i could get one but on the checkout it stated that i could not buy from my location (?). Contacted be quiet! support and after sending them the photo they are gonna supply me a new one, free of charge.... @BitMasterThanks for the info on the PBO thingy. Crappy software story: I don't care for any RGB stuff but since i have it on board now i wanted to see if i could turn it off (PC sits under my desk anyway, no need for any RGB). Installed RGBFusion from the Gigabyte website, played around with it, turned some stuff off and left it installed. Yesterday i wanted to try something in FS 2020, ran target to activate my FS2020 Warthog profile but once in game HOTAS did not respond like it should have been. Looked up the bindings in the controller section, no Thrustmaster Combined but 2 separate devices as if Target didn't ran the script. Checked Target, script runs, re-load FS2020, same story. Quit FS2020 again, stopped the Target script, ran it again but then i noticed it came back with an error, trying to install a filter for one of the 2 devices. Never seen that before, tried another script, same thing. Started search for solutions, found a few, as usual none of them worked. Also uninstall, reinstall Target, no joy. Then stumbled over a post on Reddit about filters being applied to USB devices all of sudden. The post contained also the cause: RGB Fusion. Uninstalled it and Target scripts ran fine again... F* RGB !! Lost a few hours of my precious life...
  3. Can't set PBO (no 2?) to either CPU or Mobo limits, only Auto/Enabled/Disabled/Manual. In Manual mode nothing of that sort of setting either, video's on the tube have that but i don't. Maybe due to BIOS upgrade for the 5800X3D? BIOS version: F4d (to support the 5800X3D).
  4. With everything installed (or better, the most important things) and everything working hardware wise as it should it was time to close the case. Last part, the glass side panel. Reached for the first screw and then side panel slipped my fingers, tapped with one of the corners on the floor and....
  5. Currently the 2 tops vents and the one at the back draw cool air in. Hot air goes out through the radiator in front (2x140mm vents pulling the air through). In my previous case it was the other way around but that's not possible with the 280mm AIO (or i must modify the case but i'm not willing to do that yet). Played with the idea to have the top and back vents draw hot air out and push cool air in through the radiator at the front but the idea of already blowing hot air into the case did hold me back. Will look into supporting the GPU, i don't have anything directly lying around that fits, need to make me something. Good tip BTW. RAM is OK, no problems with that. Just had 2 little sweaty moments during the build where i thought WTF: 5800X3D wasn't recognized by the mobo so i had to (blind) flash new firmware, without the CPU installed and later when the main monitor didn't got a signal from the onboard HDMI port (my second monitor is still DVI and i have a Displayport --> DVI cable but no HDMI --> DVI so i could not use that to try). OC: still need to look into that, my previous one (i7 4770K) ran at 4.5 coming from 3.5 but i need to get me some info on OC'ing an AMD. From what i did read yet, the 5800X3D seems a bit sturbern when it comes to overclocking. Gonna install all the software first, OC is for later.
  6. In the end moved it to the front and the intake vents to the top and one at the back. The radiator alone would fit but not with the fans on it (or vice versa). One last thing to do: put heatsinks on the NVMe's. Edit: somehow links to photo's uploaded to Imgur or so won't work anymore, what do i miss.... (below is a direct upload)?
  7. Up and running... Windows 10 !
  8. I'm not there yet. Can't mount the 280mm AIO radiator on top, the cooler that sits over de motherboards north bridge is just a few mm to tick. I can either move the radiator forward but then i can't fix the front part of radiator because of no fixing holes (or i should drill them). Another option is to mount the radiator vertically on the front but then the airflow through the case is not optimal. Dilemma.
  9. New build (damn cable routing... why are all the plugs always wrongly bend) is almost ready for a trial/test run and then the OS installation. But i'm still in doubt with sticking with Win 10 (which i find i decent OS and have some tweaks for) or go Win 11 (and have to look it all up again)? Dilemma...
  10. But then there is one more thing: Why does a "full screen" when ticked inside DCS minimizes when you click on a second monitor (desktop there or another open window). It's just annoying that when full screen is ticked in DCS, you're in the middle of a flight, forgot something on how stuff worked and oh... let me look it up and and display it on my second monitor (that's what they are fore right, 2nd monitors) and bang DCS minimizes. Dang... you bring it up again to check something and need to scroll a bit in your info/text/manual on your 2nd monitor to compare and bang, the moment you click the mouse, your nice DCS game on your main monitor is gone. I call that a step back, a BIG one. The only option is going windowed, either a true window or a borderless one (which is not really full screen as we knew it). If that is the way to go to avoid the above problem (which didn't exist prior to 2.7) then why is the option Full Screen still there? It's useless then.
  11. Yup, will take some of them from the old system to the new system, mostly containing data (music, photo's etc...) or backup.
  12. It has 3 M2 ports but i only will install 2 M2's. The manual also says this about PCIEX2 Expansion Slots: 1 x PCI Express x16 slot (PCIEX16), integrated in the CPU: * For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot (PCIEX2), integrated in the Chipset: - Supporting PCIe 4.0 (Note 2)/3.0 x2 mode * The PCIEX2 slot shares bandwidth with the SATA3 4, 5 connectors. The SATA3 4, 5 connectors will become unavailable when a device is installed in the PCIEX2 slot. 2 x PCI Express x1 slots (PCIEX1_1/PCIEX1_2), integrated in the Chipset: - Supporting PCIe 4.0 (Note 2)/3.0 Since both M2B_SB and M2C_SB sit above and below PCIEX2 i was wondering if they also make the SATA 3, 4 , 5 unavailable? Time will tell when i get the rest of my parts to build the system and i can see what it does, for the moment the parts are stuck somewhere in the DHL pipeline
  13. Ah, couldn't imagine that it would mean that (but then by getting older and older and older things get more and more and more blurry).
  14. @BitMaster: And SB stands for... (because that was one of my questions... ?
  15. Chipset: X570S Board: Gigabyte X570S UD (to put an 5800X3D on it) I do read manuals, there is some stuff in the manual about it but for me it's not 100% explained. SATA 3, 4, 5 are not availble when PCIEX2 slot is used but there is no reference to it if an M2 slot is used, it points to the PCIEX2 slot. Module type i'm gonna put in is 2280 and supported. The only 2 things that i'm after for the moment is what is the meaning of SB in M2x_SB and which has the most impact on performance, the M2A_CPU slot or the M2x_SB slot. Neither one i can find in the manual.
  16. Bought myself 2 NVMe M2 drives. The Gigabyte motherboard has 3 slots available, marked M2A_CPU, M2B_SB and M2C_SB. I guess M2A_CPU has direct lanes to the CPU, the others are SB which stands for ??? (SATA Bus or SATA Bandwidth or something else) and i guess these run then at SATA speed? I also read that an M2 with CPU lanes steals away some CPU cycles but i haven't been able to find more about that (yet). Question is where to put the drive with the OS (will be Windows 11 (or stick witn Win 10?) on it and where to put the DCS drive?
  17. Still the same here. Mirror only comes on when the headset is fully activated, before that it's a black screen. Everything has to be done now with the headset on my head. I also have some rare irregular VR disconnections while loading a multiplayer session (mirror is still active then) and also during the loading of a mission a lot more garbled artifacted screens and distortions. I don't have that in other games.
  18. Awaiting the Ryzen 7000 series this is what happened to Ryzen 5000 shelf prices over the last couple of days (at my local PC store): 3 days ago: AMD 5600X: 229€ - AMD 5700X: 289€ - AMD 5800X: 329€ Yesterday: AMD 5600X: 349€ - AMD 5700X: 339€ - AMD 5800X: 449€ Today: AMD 5600X: 379€ - AMD 5700X: 359€ - AMD 5800X: 549€ Really...?
  19. It's purely DCS because ALT-Enter still works on other stuff.
  20. Really? Then why is this Full Screen as you name it different from the way it was before the 2.7 series bugged it? And why is it now so called Full Screen when the Full Screen option is not ticked? And why does it behave differently then before? Stating that Full Screen now works as in all other games is wrong because on none of the games i have currently installed full screen behaves like it does now in DCS (IL-2, XPlane-11 and Elite Dangerous). And then i don't want to bring the 2nd monitor problem up...
  21. Or you can send it to me so i can have a look, i'll post an email in PM.
  22. Thx for info on the switch, will order one at RS over here and dig up my fine iron.
  23. Not interested in the whole assembly from TM, it has proven not be good enough.
  24. I confirm on longer loading times also, already noticable since the previous update, not only since the last one. (info fxo and metashaders2 folders are flushed after each update (if i don't forget), metashaders2 in general is just empty but since the day before yesterday, a dozen or so files reside there at the moment).
