TM Warthog not possible to bind to VR Head Tracker Zoom
Lange_666 replied to Ephedrin's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Under the UI Layer in Controls you also have VR Zoom functions, these are general for all aircraft, you can set your paddle switch there.- 1 reply

Does anybody have any info on what type of switch the MIC-switch of the Warthog is? I need a replacement (better quality then the original). Same goes for the pinky switch, there's quite a bit of play in it.

If you want to keep the stable version and create a new OB version, just copy the entire stable over to the location you want the OB version to be in, use the updater to create (update) that version to the latest OB, then copy over your inputs in saved games manually. Fire up OB through the updater, go multiplayer...

I noticed V44 is out. Anyone running v44 with Rift-S and still has issues if not on a Facebook or Meta account?

Maybe somebody tried to fix the Full Screen minimizing problem that was created when 2.7 was introduced and has been around since. @ BIGNEWY: You would ask the team about that but never responded in anyway. Includes a little video of the problem.

Shimmering does not happen (or almost not, like in 99,9%) on fixed camera views. If you don't use Track IR (or another headtracker), your camera will not move and presents a fixed view unless you use the keys to look around. The moment you stop, the view you're looking at is again at fixed view. With TrackIR that's not the case. The view will always move a very little bit because you can't keep your head still even if you think you do and then the shimmering along lines and edges kicks in because along those edges, pixels always change color. You can counter that by creating a bigger deadzone but that only works around center and is annoying because your view will not directly move when you move your head.

Yep the ground shadows shimmer a lot, especially when the sun is low and the drawn shadows get longer and more spiky. Depending on where you fly then, shimmer is your deal.

Radio menu and message font change "sometimes" after last update.
Lange_666 replied to Lange_666's topic in General Bugs
Just noticed i missed some info above: Each time i saw the above problem, i checked to see if the ingame "Message Font Scale" option was always set to 1. This was "always" the case (i didn't change that by accident). -

This problem still persist as to this day. It got introduced since the first 2.7 release and is still around...

After the last OB update i sometimes have a bigger font loaded for radio menu and messages. I know there is a little mod that you can install to have other (bigger) fonts but i don't have that and certainly not installed in any way (i have a clean OB install). The change in font size happens now and then (noticed it 3 times now) after a full restart and i only get the normal back after a game restart. Resolution for both images is the same (2560x1440). Normal menu font: Bigger font that shows up sometimes

I still have my i7 4770K, started out with 16GB RAM of 1600Mhz DDR3 ram and a GTX 780 3GB GPU. Updated over the years to 32MB 2400Mhz DDR3 ram and GTX 1080Ti 11GB GPU (and a few SSD's to replace the original HD's i had fitted). But as software progresses, performance declines, with my previous system (i7 950 and GTX 480) the i7 4770K and GTX 780 it went from struggling to get 60 FPS constantly on my previous system to WOW, see how this runs now. And before that it was the same, the i7 950 / GTX480 was WOW compared to my system before that. Then at a given point the GTX 780 3GB didn't cut it anymore for the same reason and i replaced it with a 1080Ti with the same effect, upping all settings again that i had turned down step by step. But after 4 years of running a 1080Ti, settings needed to be turned down again to keep 60 FPS going on acceptable visual settings mainly in MP and certainly in VR and because i also updated the monitor from 1920x1200 to 2560x1440, it started to show it's age. I now have a 3080Ti fitted but this makes the CPU struggling so i'm at the end of this CPU now. So if 5800x3D will give 60 FPS today it will also do that in the future "IF" the software visuals don't improve or you don't upgrade the resolution of your screen (or VR set), in other words, if DCS doesn't improve visually and it will, just take the old and new maps into account as example. My previous 1080Ti setup ran perfectly fine on SP Caucasus but struggled on the Syria and Mariana's maps) If you wait for the newer stuff to arrive, you pay more but for that you get an x % better performance over a currently available system. Both will degrade in time, as software develops, then new, more expensive system will just last a bit longer.

The 5800X3D will go on an AM4 motherboard, the new 7000 series will need an AM5 one. As far as i know there are no AM4 motherboards that support DDR5 Ram either (AM5 does but will be DDR5 only). So as with almost any new Intel CPU, this time you can't use your old AMD AM4 motherboard for a future upgrade to a 7000 series CPU. I'm a bit in the same boat as you, i need a replacement for my aging i7 4770K and was looking at the 5800X3D too. But the change from AM4 to AM5 is holding me back until i know what the price will be + the 7xxxX3D isn't directly on the horizon if i'm correct. Another problem is that new sockets and new chipsets can have some flaws. This means waiting a bit more until things are settled. Same for DDR5 memory. Going for the 5800X3D means you are on a older system with DDR4 Ram with no upgrade possibility later on but cheaper then the new things that come will come out soon. Going for an Intel means in general also a new motherboard (because they change sockets almost for each new CPU) but if you go for DDR5 now you can keep that at least for a future upgrade.

In Afterburner you can to change the skin which makes it look (depending on the chosen skin) totally different then default. Select that matches the tutorial, makes it easier to follow. It's in the User Interface tab under settings. Some hotkey combo's can be set under the On Screen Display tab. I also found that some hotkey's mentioned in the tutorials don't exactly work goes described, same goes for some mouse actions. Maybe depended on the AB software version used in the tutorials?

My Power Management setting in global settings is always default = Normal so that's certainly not the case of the problem. Or maybe the driver itself is the problem and Normal isn't Normal but Max Power. I'm on the latest 516.94 (clean installed after DDU'ed the one i got installed previously with my 1080Ti card). I only use Max Performance in my game profiles.

Launch Skate's App, launch DCS, set your settings in DCS, close DCS, Skate's app comes back to live, go to the App Settings tab, locate "Custom Preset Names", fill in a name for the setting you just made and press apply. Repeat for the next setting. I have 4: Offline, Online, Offline VR and Online VR.

At the current exchange rate that would be 2861 and 2613 euro's. No thank you, nVidia doesn't have Apple status.

The airflow is OK, maybe not 100% optimal (i'm no expert) but it worked fine in my previous setup. Currently i have EVGA's Precision X1 software running and if i set everything to default, fans on the card don't start spinning before the GPU temp hit's 61°. If i manually set it up that they are spinning around 40% on idle (GPUZ shows more then Precision X1), GPU temp goes down to 33° (ambient 23,5°). The difference is that your fans don't spin at idle. I might disassemble the card and take a look at the thermals. What brand do you have? After discovering the high idle temps i started to look around if that was normal and found lots of people reporting the same for the EVGA cards. 2 examples: https://forums.evga.com/3080-XC3-Ultra-60C-idle-temps-m3335501.aspx https://www.reddit.com/r/EVGA/comments/mdl76s/xc3_ultra_3080_idle_temps/
