Following update of open beta to 2.5, my Kneeboard Builder will not run. The kneeboard is present when running, but has moved to the default position, behind my Helios display, rather than on my dedicated kneeboard monitor. I am unable to reset the profile, because I cannot enter Kneeboard Builder. Does anyone have any suggestions, or is suffering from similar problem?

Sorry, just noticed the Conventional Threshold Speeds are incorrect. They should be 135 kts for 18k and 20k, and thereafter 139, 142, 175, 183kts.

As I understand it the VREST, computer will produce the data you're looking for via the MPCD - eventually. In the meantime, for my own use, I have produced a data sheet giving representative data. This is accurate only for Standard Temperature and Pressure (i.e 1013 mb and 15 degrees C). I interpolate for intermediate values and add or subtract a 'smidgen' for extra height or OAT. You're welcome to use it on a 'no liability' condition. AV-8B Performance and Limits.pdf

Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. I don’t know how I missed it.

The documents on the AV-8B, talk about the ‘hover weight ratio’. However, I can find no definition of what this is. I assume that it is the ratio of the aircraft’s actual take-off weight to the maximum hover weight for the existing conditions. Can anyone confirm this, or give a definitive answer.

Thanks, Airdog. I will wait it’s appearance. I translated the page, but for some reason, I was unable to see the download on the site -possibly my anti-virus being a bit paranoid.

Check your dcs.log (it is written to the save games\logs folder after every trip). You may find that the USB devices are randomly re-initialising during flight. I have the same problem and have had to stop using my 2 & 3-way switches as a result. This is a problem that arose about 18 months ago, after the hot replugging of devices was introduced by DCS.

How do I download the AV-8B Helios file. All the links are in (presumably) Korean.

Correct, my mis-typing - the 12,000 should have read 20,000.

My apologies. It turned out that someone had disabled the Server end. Thanks for your very quick response - one of the most satisfying aspect of using SRS. Even when, as in this case, the fault was with us.

Having updated SRS, I am unable to connect. I have confirmed that the Server is running 1.4.4.0. Extract from my SRS log is attached SRS Log No-Connect.txt

Same for me. In fact, 1.5.8 is hanging at the start up screen, with the Chat and Text Enhancer enabled. I note that around 5 or 6 of the files that were modified by the Enhancer have been updated by 1.5.8. Almost certainly the reason. I will take a look to see specifically what has changed.

It's probably unrealistic to try to fly an accurate Tacan arc by setting a constant bank angle. As well as holding quite a small angle, you would need to adjust it as you go round to allow for wind. A better plan would be to fly a series of short legs, letting the tacan range go from, say, 16 nm, down to 14, and then back to 16, before turning 5 degrees in and repeating the process. That, as I recall it, was how we flew tacan arcs 40-50 years ago!

Depends on weight and height. At low level 300 kias is adequate, with an initial pull of 4g. At max weight and 15k, you would be hard put to get round. I recommend starting at around 350 kias, 2k, over an airfield and using the runway to maintain the line.

Just looking at this campaign for use by our group. However, we have several inexperienced members and the initial mission, specifically defeating the Tunguska is a problem. I note that early on in this thread, the Tunguska missiles were described as IR. This may be part of the problem, since I had understood them to be radar guided throughout their flight. Can anyone confirm which is the appropriate defence: flares or chaff. There is also mention of a x6 magnification capability on the Mav-C, is anyone able to confirm this and advise how it is selected?

Sa-03 "broken" sometimes.
flyco replied to twistking's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Both the SA-3 and the SA-6 have been a bit "off" for some time. The SA-3 is unpredictable -sometimes responding but often too late - while the SA-6 is almost entirely comatose. -
Input Devices Re-Initialisation
flyco replied to Dutch Baron's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
In my case, this is an intermittent problem. I can fly a 2 hr sortie and not get a single re-initialisation. Other 30 min sorties will produce 2 or 3 of them. One strange property is that, apart from the initial start-up, they seem to come in batches of 5. And each batch of 5is completed in well under a second. But still long enough to switch a few of my Device switches to cycle on and then off. Your theory may be right, but everyone’s system seems to misbehave in a similar, but not identical way. If anyone is interested, I can let them have my collection of over a 100 log files, showing this. I thought not! -
Input Devices Re-Initialisation

Quarz, it's good to see more people registering this problem. Keep coming, the rest of you, try and persuade ED to take a look. As for disconnections form Servers, i can't say that it is a regular occurrence, certainly not as bad as you seem to be experiencing. I get the occasional drop out, but usually it seems to be loss of connection with the server, rather than just dropping off the game-plot, which is what i understand you are experiencing. -
Input Devices Re-Initialisation
flyco replied to Dutch Baron's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Thanks for the update Dutch Baron. Sorry about your expenses. I have a Realtek card, but I use a Bluetooth headset via USB for sound. I will have to see if I can disable the Realkek and still get sound. Nevertheless, I echo your pleas to ED. Do have a look at it for all those frustrated people who are experiencing this problem. I suspect it must be hundreds, but unless they have critical USB controllers and check the logs file, most may not be aware of it. -
Input Devices Re-Initialisation
flyco replied to Dutch Baron's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Just for information, I have been recording these re-initialisation incidents since Jul 2016. All are very similar, with DCS re-initialising my input devices well into the mission, ousually in batches of 5, lasting for well under a second, and sometimes up to 100 times in a single sortie. I don't know when the hot-plug facility was introduced, but I believe it was from about then, and that would be my best bet as to its cause. No evidence for this, purely circumstantial. Edit - just checked and hot-plug appears to be first mentioned in late Jun 2016 in the Forum. -
Input Devices Re-Initialisation
flyco replied to Dutch Baron's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Dutch Baron, please come back and let us know how your new card runs. I have had an identical problem now for many months. All of my USB devices run via powered expansion hubs, but these are USB 2 hubs. My problem dates from when hot-pluggable USB was introduced. Co-incidence? Perhaps. -
Great news, David. Looking forward to trying again.
-
Good luck, David. Come back as soon as you can, and if you need any help, let me know.

We have just had a new member ask to join our group. Unfortunately on his initial visit to our server, he was unable to get onto either of our servers, or any other server. On selecting and hitting ‘Join’ he sat at the loading screen for 2 minutes before being disconnected. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we might try in order to fix this?
