button mappings with a modifier not working properly?
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to foobar56's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
After you selected the Modifiers tab under Controls, in the Modifiers Panel, did you ensure Button 1 was selected in the left "Modifiers" column and not in the right "Switches" column? The action you described is that of a Switch. -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Great work! I think HDG2FACE / HDG2MMS is fine or you could shorten to "HDG FACE" and "HDG MMS". -

Yes I meant scrolling the value down then clicking the button -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Noted ok. Some suggestions: 1. ON/OFF - Could there be one button each for AI Pilot, AI HUD and app Overlay? 2. LEFT/RIGHT for Orbit, Turn and Hover - Could perhaps be done with a L/R mouse button click for each instead of the top LEFT/RIGHT button toggling all 3. Hover here could be renamed Drift? 3. Incremental Heading - Could consider L mouse click to initiate Left turn increments from being in R turn state and vice versa. Otherwise, dialing down is still an addition to the current turn side (could get confusing) unless you dial pass 0 first. -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)

Scroll wheel is great! Thanks! The dial is no longer working but is it suppose to still be there cos mine is, even after deleting the config.lua. -
Binding MMS Multi-Target Next Target Select
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to 450Devil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I think that might be the "MMS Frame Freeze/Target Select | HOG On/Off button", to select your transition target gate box in ACQ OM mode? -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Was thinking of the scroll wheel too to change the values. I noticed all my mouse buttons can be used to click-activate the overlay buttons. I am beginning to see the challenge in getting the overlay mod to recognise and differentiate user inputs and intentions. -
What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
The 3-way hat switch binding options are somewhat bugged. So I had to try different ways to map it to make it work. I can use the dial to brighten it. But I could never see a difference between green and white. It's basically on or off with what looks like white. Did I miss something?- 591 replies

Would be nice to have but probably more like a "hey point the aircraft over there" request to the copilot since the Kiowa's ODA (which can only come on with NVG) doesn't give your head's LOS bearing but the aircraft's nose bearing, unlike say the IHADSS in the Apache (IIRC). Update: Bailey's working on a great Overlay app for the AI Pilot that will include "fly to where I am looking at".

Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Sorry I wish I could be of more assistance but I don't know how to write code. One suggestion may be to do a right mouse click to increase the value and a left click to decrease the value (for each of those 3 buttons), but have a short delay of say 0.7-1 sec before the AI acts (this allows you time to inc/dec to the desired value), and then do away with the wheel? -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
The wheel changes the altitude, speed and heading simultaneously although the AI only follows which button of the 3 that you press after that. Would it be better to make the wheel change only the value of the button that you select? You could also make that button highlighted for example, so we know it's the one being selected for change. -
Perhaps the 'perfect hover' could be progressively less stable with the amount of wind and turbulence set in the mission. It does feel a little too good to be honest but I wouldn't want it to end up like the Apache in the early days either which was a bit of a nightmare.

User Files pages are so slowww, every now and then...
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to GrEaSeLiTeNiN's topic in General Bugs
Oh yes it's back to normal now! Update: Slow again... It seems every now and then it's agonizingly slow when opening the pages and screenshots, although download of the files are ok. -

GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to GrEaSeLiTeNiN's topic in General Bugs
Strangely, the file downloads are ok but the pages take a long time to open and the screenshots are even slower. -
Update - User Files Section: The file downloads are ok but it often takes ages to open the pages let alone the screenshots. Sometimes it's ok, then it's slow again.

Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
Hope it (or something similar) gets added into the module. There was a "Pie Menu" in the bindings though it can't be used. Not sure if they had intended to have a command rose. -
Kiowa Integrated Overlays (KIO-WA AI and MFK Overlay)
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Bailey's topic in DCS Modding
This is fantastic! Could you please give us some details on how to install it exactly? Simply drop the "Scripts" folder (which contains "Hooks" and "KIO-WA" folders) into DCS Saved Games? I went to the GitHub link but there is no download link or button to download the Scripts folder. Appreciate it, thanks. -
I have a bit of an issue with slewing the MMS using a 4-way HAT on my warthog stick. It's fine with LOS slewing. But for ACQ on the Move, the diamond disappears if I stop the slewing action before locking a target. So I have to slew accurately to the desired target in one continuous motion.
-
Thanks, noted on the centroid thing. Tried hitting regular vehicles (not tall SCUDs) and it was ok. My MMS slew unfortunately has to be a 4 way-hat. Works fine for LOS slew but a little tricky for ACQ OM.

Hi, I managed to work it somewhat: MMS Manual -> Area Trk -> Diamond Slewing -> Box Up Targets Thicker TGT Box selection with MMS Frame FRZ/TGT Select button Point Trk to move the crosshairs to the Thicker TGT Box But I have the following issues: 1. The crosshairs (and hence laser impact point) is always above the TGT Box (see MMS screenshot) and so the HF flies over the target. How do I adjust the crosshairs directly onto the target in the box? The crosshairs can't be slewed in this state. 2. I also discovered that when slewing the diamond to your next target, you can't stop the slewing motion before it 'catches' the next target or the diamond disappears. Meaning your next target has to be roughly at 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock from the diamond's start position in the crosshairs so you don't break the slewing action.

3 Position switch bindings not working
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to Rhinozherous's topic in Bugs and Problems
Would’ve been OK for an EA but this is a non-EA. Unfortunately, if they don’t get it right upon release, it might be a long wait before they are fixed or they may never get corrected, since they are usually low in priority. -
Probably an oversight and to be removed since there aren’t key bindings for launching chaff anyway.
-
Yeah it can be confusing. Had two buttons for lasing too. If you map your hotas correctly, I think you could basically fly and shoot everything from the pilot seat including working the MMS.
-
I couldn’t get my hellfires to launch for a long time (box was dotted) and was puzzled until I realised the laser button (top left) in the MMS display was still in the default RNG mode. I needed to click it to A1688 or whatever you have set the laser code to. Careful the last missile might be in ALT code and you need to set it right too. Could this be it?
