I can agree with you there my findings were based on the game numbers here http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/88?vs=118. Like you said 10% improvement in the games tested. If hes getting 20fps spending money to get to 22fps isn't worth it. Not once did I say anything about an improvement of fps in dcs. I was simply trying to lend some advice.

The update/upgrade version only applies to bs2. The 4.59gb A10 is the full standalone installer. So I dont think you need the steam version installed. Yes use your steam cd key.

The 1.1.1.1 patch won't apply to the stream version. Steam will release a patch at sometime...your best bet would be to download the full 1.1.1.1 version from the dcs web site and get your cd key from steam. Your stream cd key will work with the dcs website download.

Yes the 955 is faster but not by much. 3.2 vs 2.93 and its a quad core instead of dual core. Have you tried overclocking? After a quick google it looks fairly easy to get the i3 to 3.6ghz or higher. That will hold you over till you can save for the i7. If you really want the i7 or i5 and have the ability to save up for it do it...you don't want to be six months down the road again wishing for an i7 or i5. Intels have the better performance but imho amd has a better performance/price ratio. If you end up getting the 955 or other amd processor. I would recommend getting an am3+ socket motherboard that should be the amd socket standard for at least a couple years.

No...the serials are different between the upgrade and full versions and are not interchangeable. Try downloading via torrent it took like 30 minutes for me.

Did you activate blackshark 1? I had to activate bs1 in order for the bs2 installer to see it as installed. I'm not sure if the disc version required activation.

Haven't tried combat yet so I can't tel you my numbers there but I did notice near the base my load on one cpu core was bouncing around 90-95%. Check your cpu core usage and see if thats the bottleneck. That seems to be my bottle neck as well as most others. Does changing the settings help much as they didnt for me maybe 5-10 fps.

From what I hear a10c is a vram heavy program...my opinion would be for you to the the 2gb 560. Plumbers grease from lowes or berkley fishing rod grease will fix the sticking problem. DON'T USE OIl. Eyeballing mine it's about 3° left and right down is 0° and up is 1°. Since (mine at least) tends to stick well until I put white lithium grease(not oil that will seep down) on it...a common fix for the plastic disc I set my dead zone well above the play in the stick since that jump after the disc stopped catching would throw you off. after the grease mild deadzone no problem. The tm cougar needs extensive mods this is a simple one compared to that

I also got the disc version to work. I had one extra step after uninstall which was run starforce remover tool. Then reinstall lock on v 1.0. Patch to 1.02. Install fc and patch to 1.12. Run lockon as admin and install starforce driver when prompted and restart.run starforce update as admin. Should work after that It shouldn't ask for a code it should just check the cd

As for the cable there is a fix for the x52 I'm assuming it would work with the x65 there's a utube video it involves cutting the cable between the throttle and stick then attaching directly inside the units...basically bypassing the connector.it also voids any warranty.
